Gremlins (1984)

8.7/10. A creative horror movie of the 80's that mustn't be overlooked. I enjoyed its premise as these little scary creatures, the Gremlins, wreaked havoc on this small town which looked like a blend of Mayberry and Bedford Falls. If anything, I found it the kind of horror movie that could do humor while not getting too over the top. Its sequel, Gremlins 2:The New Batch, went slightly the opposite way, nothing wrong with that, because it worked. Here though, the small town isolation with being invaded by these little monsters does well and plays with the audience's minds superbly.

Boogie Nights (1997)

9. 7/10. Possibly one of the last great movies of the 90's, one of the best of the year 1997, and the best one ever made about the adult film industry. I don't deny enjoying the movies they turn out, have some along with pictures of many of the lovely ladies both printed and bought off the internet. This movie shows the rise of Diggler and his fall along with a bounce back in a pretty good way. The public looks down on all adult film stars as if they're criminals, worse than abortionists and politicians. When I watched this I felt like I watching actual people just doing their job with a hint of pride to what they considered art. The performance I enjoyed most was Julianne Moore as Amber Waves who seemed to be like a motherly figure trying to do a job and fight her jerky ex too. If anything, this movie humanizes adult film stars and maybe changed some people's minds about them. I would consider this an art movie too since it shows people having a passion for their profession, taking it seriously enough, caring about making all of their movies as good as possible.

The Forgotten (2004)

9.7/10.The second best movie of Julianne Moore's career. She, as Telly Paretta, deals with alien life trying to experiment on and take away her child as well as the bond between them.I would call this one of the most underrated sci-fi movies ever made.Sure it's not the same level as Predator or Terminator 2 :Judgement Day, but it works its way to the second level.I enjoyed it as it had a solid story, believable characters, and a premise which could be a metaphor some have over their children growing up and moving away.Kudos to Julianne Moore for an excellent, as usual, performance, she should've won the Golden Globe at least for it.

9.4/10.A slower paced sequel that does well in its own right. It's got less of the get in your face with an adrenaline rush to compared to its predecessor. That's not saying it's a good sequel I just liked Kill Bill Volume 1 more.Kill Bill Volume 2 does have its moments with Thurman's fight with Hannah.I admit feeling a little disappointed over the short fight she had with Carradine though I liked the ending. It's still pretty good.

The Purge (2013)

6.9/10.The idea of all crime legal for one night out of the year is intriguing.Mainly when you consider what Congress gets away with all year long.Still I find it to be one of the better done home invasion movies with Ethan Hawke and Lena Headey doing a pretty good job. They go from a not caring well to do couple to one fighting for survival alongside their kids. The atmosphere almost reminds me of a mix of Halloween, Assault On Precinct 13, and Night Of The Living Dead. The young Purgers are especially creepy, obsessed with killing Edwin Hodge.I found him also to be pretty good.A decent start to the franchise.

The Bionic Woman (1976)

6.7/10.A slightly better show than Wonder Woman.Yet it suffered from the same problem, relying more on Lindsay Wagner's looks than good scripts and characters. Here we're supposed to swallow she doesn't get really hurt beyond needing bionic implants on only a few parts of her body.Come on, show us something that isn't hokey.Still Lindsay Wagner had some charm about her, maybe a little less blandness than Lynda Carter. They missed an opportunity to have her do a crossover.Picture Bionic Woman with Wonder Woman, it could've worked, but TV executives just aren't too bright.Still I'd give Lindsay Wagner a shot more than Lynda Carter. The Bionic Woman had some believability more than Wonder Woman.

Heavyweights (1995)

-50/10.Fat people are people too.Hilarious with that mongrel idiot Ben Stiller. Not worth your time watching.

Rob245

8.9/10.A relatively good sequel. The original was a lot of fun and this is no exception.I would say it comes close to topping the original were it not for the annoying Col and his assistant characters. They couldn't be killed soon enough for me.I enjoyed very much otherwise such as the scene of Jack liking that supermodel, being part of her iced coffee. He delivers even more zany one liners than before, a totally good watch.

Big Little Lies (2017)

-70/10.Why does this show sound so familiar?Oh right because Desperate Housewives already did the whole five close friends show with secrets, a murder or two and the guys made to look stupid. This is perfect for Shailene Woodley and Zoe Kravitz as they're limited ditzes anyway who won't get anywhere else.Laura Dern, who hasn't had a good part since Jurassic Park is here for no reason.Nicole Kidman's got the same reason with her last good one being Invasion, Reese Witherspoon trying to be serious and not annoying. If you enjoy misandry then this is the show for you.

Gothika (2003)

-60/10.Why they ever cast Halle Berry in anything is beyond my comprehension. The movie's less predictable than an episode of the various Scooby Doo shows.

All of Me (1984)

-50/10.If anything this movie deserves a spot on the list of 100 of the stupidest comedies ever.It fails in everything from plot to acting with the exception of Steve Martin who should've known better. If they'd rewritten the script, maybe gotten Raquel Welch instead, it could've worked. But no they stick with Lily Tomlin and I wasn't impressed, only annoyed.

Angel of Death (2009)

8.8/10.A pretty good movie with Zoe Bell showing some good acting skills.I've appreciated and respected her since watching Wonder Women starring her and Jeannie Epper. Here she shows she's got the skills necessary to carry a movie and do a darn good job.Sure Ted Raimi and Lucy Lawless show up but they're harmless.I would say Zoe Bell's equal with Gina Carano on moving into acting.Sure it's kind of like Kill Bill but it shows the character gong through a far better change than Uma Thurman's Beatrix Kiddo did.Watch and you might like it.

7.4/10.Not the mess I expected. It could've been a little sharper still it had an interesting premise. It wasn't the pits like the MCU Spider-Man movies with their SJW moments. Here Miles Morales is learning the mantle of Spider-Man with help of Peter Parker from another universe, pretty good idea.I commend the filmmakers for sticking to an idea and seeing it through. One thing they did I thoroughly liked was Gwen Stacy, Here she's a more developed and interesting character.I liked her as Spider-Gwen, the best use of her ever in any of the Spider-Man media.Yes I also liked Spider-Ham.I only wish they'd had Spider-Man 2099 and Ben Reilly Spider-Man in there.Otherwise it's a pretty solid movie.

Fletch Lives (1989)

7.5/10.A slightly less good sequel. But however it still maintains a good pace with a decent story as Chevy Chase delivers another solid performance. He's capable of being funny with the right script. Here Fletch is in Louisiana dealing with sinister forces.Yes they play to Southern stereotypes but I can ignore them despite myself.Far as I'm concerned, Chevy Chase's career ended once he stopped doing Fletch movies.

Fletch (1985)

8.7/10.Possibly Chevy Chase's best movie. The character of Fletch just has this likable charm to him. He's a smart butt yes but the guy makes you laugh. If anything, I enjoy watching this as Chase really pours all his energy into the role. The plot's solid, drugs becoming a major issue in the 80's is a good idea for a movie.I do find it ironic that here a newspaper reporter actually cares about the truth since they stopped caring decades ago. It's just a fun little romp with smart writing, good comedic timing, and good acting mainly from Chevy Chase.

Hidden Figures (2016)

-50/10.They could've done something good here. The first black women to work at NASA does sound like an interesting story to tell. What does Hollywood do?They make this into a movie about race with the usual gripes. It sickens me and others, no doubt, that in this day and age Hollywood's still obsessed with race. They take another good story and make it into a lousy movie.

Jennifer's Body (2009)

8.5/10.A seriously underrated horror movie of the 2000's.I enjoyed the idea of a popular girl inhabited by a succubus. Then, making it further complicated.her nerdy best friend has to stop her.The premise is good, set in small town America as if imitating Stephen King's books which also happen in small town America.I would say the whole movie's good with an exception.Adam Brody tries taking up too much of every scene he's in as if scared to be a co-star, He seemed threatened playing behind Amanda Seyfried and Megan Fox.What I enjoyed the most was the chemistry of Seyfried and Fox.They played well off each other, seemed like actual childhood friends who become enemies because of evil.I wish they'd do something else together. This is definitely a pretty good and vastly underrated movie.

Rob245

8.3/10.Whereas it's a bit weak, I still liked it.Typically Gonzo has to play second or so violin to the others, here he's the main character. It's got its problems like having Hogan and Griffin in cameos but not as bad as The Happytime Murders.I like the idea of Gonzo finding out he's from space, longing to reconnect with his family.A subtle message here is family is whoever you live with and love as they love you.Gonzo is and always will be my favorite of The Muppet characters.

7/10.I found this a pretty decent reboot. It does do a lot of things of the previous movies but that was to please the fans.If they didn't do things like knucklehead teens fans would complain.Jason runs here like he did in Parts 2-4, nothing wrong with that.I found making him a bit more clever an original and good idea. The dislike I don't get since I enjoyed it, One thing that was interesting, at least to me, was the final girl looked like his mother. That almost seemed like a nod to Part 2 only here she looks sort of like Jason's mother.Dererk Mears, who plays Jason, was pretty good at it.

Secretary (2002)

-70/10.How they ever got this garbage off the ground is beyond me.James Spader constantly humiliates former mental patient Maggie G who grows to like it, She stays as his secretary and marries him. It's just bad, one of the worst of the 2000's alongside Battlefield Earth.
