Trivia: The amplifier that Michael J Fox blows up at the beginning is labeled as being a CRM-114. This is a reference to Dr. Strangelove, in which the B-52 crews receive their orders over a CRM-114. It was also the serial number of the Jupiter explorer in 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) also directed by Stanley Kubrick. (00:03:05)

Trivia: In the first scene when Marty arrives at Doc's place and the camera pans across all the clocks, one particular clock has an hour hand and a minute hand with a man hanging from it - foreshadowing Doc's perilous scene hanging from the clock tower. The hanging man isn't Doc, but the silent movie star Harold Lloyd, in a reference to him in Safety Last. Sadly though, Harold and Christopher aren't related. (00:01:35)

Continuity mistake: In the first scuffle between Marty and Biff in the school cafeteria, they both grab a hold of each other's shirts until they were stopped by Strickland, but in the next shot, Marty is not holding on to Biff's shirt. (01:40:40)

Continuity mistake: When Biff's car slams into the manure truck, in the first shot the side of the truck is adjacent to the car's back passenger door, but in the next overhead shot the side of the truck is adjacent to the front windshield. (01:07:20)

Revealing mistake: When Biff and his gang are chasing after Marty in their car around the Courthouse Square, in the shots that takes place in the Courthouse yard, you can see that it's Biff's stunt double that's driving. (01:06:45)

Continuity mistake: During the scene where Fletch is at the hospital trying to locate Stanwyk's medical records, he drops lots of files on the floor and asks a nurse to sort them out. When he is talking to her he has a stethoscope in his ears, but when the camera moves behind him they are suddenly round his neck. Moments later they are back in his ears. (00:18:10)

Continuity mistake: In the scene where Fletch is in the chief's office, he get thrown up against the wall of pictures. There are two pictures over his left shoulder and the top picture drops to the floor. After cutting to the chief and then back to Fletch, the picture is back on the wall making it two over Fletch's left shoulder. (00:45:20)

Visible crew/equipment: Right before Eddie goes in for a closer look at the will in Marvin Acme's patty cake photo, a boom mic is reflected in the magnifying glass. (00:36:15)

Trivia: After agent J gets rid of Jeff the giant worm, he neuralizes the passengers on board what's left of the subway. One of the passengers is none other than Rick Avery, who is a stunt coordinator for many other movies. (00:10:25)

Visible crew/equipment: Near the beginning of the film, when Pee-Wee unveils his beloved bicycle for the first time by disabling his elaborate garage security system, if you look carefully, a crew member's foot can be seen moving away as the garage door is opened. (00:08:45)

Visible crew/equipment: Near the end of Pee-Wee's chase scene at the Warner Bros. studios, he activates a launch mechanism on his bike and soars over a barb wire fence onto a roof. As he shouts "Geronimo," there is a crew member on the lower right hand side of the screen sporting a pair of sunglasses in front of a platform just staring towards the camera for a few seconds (best viewed on the matted widescreen DVD release). Continuity mistake: Check out the style of Eddie's shoes when he's flat on the floor of Droopy's elevator as it's going up. Notice how he's got a different pair on his feet minutes later while gazing down at Judge Doom's gun in the back alley. (01:11:30 - 01:14:15)

Continuity mistake: When P.W. is escaping certain trouble somehow his handle bar comes off (with ribbons) a new one is replaced (without ribbons) - cool bike huh? But in the next scene the new handle has ribbons... (01:13:00)

Continuity mistake: When Marty McFly is being chased around the town square by Biff and his buddies in the black convertible, an extra set of lights appear under the headlights on the car (goes from a 1946 Ford to a '47/'48). (01:06:45)

Continuity mistake: When Biff is grousing to George about who will pay his cleaning bill (for spilling beer on his jacket when he wrecked George's car), there is a picture frame on a stand in the background. It's initially facing fairly rightwards, but in the next shot of the argument, it's facing more towards the camera. (00:11:55)

Continuity mistake: Before the alien transforms into a woman it flips the pages of magazine located inches away. When the alien starts to transform the magazine disappears. (00:05:10)

Revealing mistake: There is a scene where Agent J is standing on a car and shoots the "Noisy Cricket" at the fleeing Edgar. The camera shot is from inside the car and just before Agent J crashes through the windshield, you see a precut area in the glass. (01:01:25)

Factual error: When Tommy Lee Jones is looking at his wife on the computer, he had typed in Truro (in Cape Cod, Mass.), but when he zoomed in, it was on the lower cape; Truro is located on the upper cape near the tip. (00:58:40)

Continuity mistake: When the truck gets smashed at the start, the tree beside the truck is well alight, but when the man comes out of the house, it is only a little alight. (00:12:40)
