Minority Report (2002)

Plot hole: In the scene where Anderton is talking with Hineman, she says to him that "You will bring down the [Precrime] system yourself if you manage to kill your victim. That would be the most spectacular public display of how Precrime didn't work." Shouldn't she be saying "If you manage to not kill your victim"? (01:01:30)

Suggested correction: Well, if Crow did die, then Precrime wouldn't have worked because the whole point is to stop murder from occurring at all.

Brad

Ether way it is a hit against precrime. If he does not kill Crow then it shows that the vision may not come true so you do not know if someone would really have killed someone else, outside situation like with the cheating wife at the start where they interrupted the murder. If Crow is murdered then it shows the system is flawed, which would not be as bad as the first as you would still be stopping a lot of the murders.

I can't tell if this reply is suggesting the correction is wrong or stating the line should be "not kill", making the mistake valid. By not killing the victim, that shows how Precrime is actually working and that knowing the future means you can alter it. If the murder occurs, it would weaken Precrime's stance and support that it can prevent crime.

Bishop73

No if he chooses not to kill Crowe then that means that the visions are just a version of the future, and thus not the actual future. So all the people with the halo on them are locked up wrongfully, as they may have decided not to do it like Anderton did, so the system collapses. That was the point, and it did. Hineman's remark is about the idea that precrime stops all murders, unless Andrton does manage to kill Crowe. The system then is flawed but like the previous commentor says, they still prevent most murders instead of all of them, which would count for something.

Minority Report (2002)

Corrected entry: After Anderton flushes himself alongside Agatha down the tank, Gordon is directing security to seal the area. Witwer interrupts him with the statement "Doesn't matter, he wins" and responds to the more detailed plans to stop them in the reservoir with "Gordon, she's in the room with him when he kills Crow. She's already a part of his future." This seems awfully defeatist for a character that was established as being so gung-ho about landing a job at a division specifically based around preventing undesirable futures from happening. The only plausible reason for this total 180 that flies in the face of the film's premise? The writers needed a quick way to move past an escape sequence in the sewers without leaving the audience wondering what was missed.

Correction: Character decission to act like this. Not a plot hole.

Big Fat Liar (2002)

Corrected entry: Go to the Features menu and hit more. Then hit Universal Studios and it will give you a complete map of the Universal Back Lot. Try and click some of the places and you'll get a clip from the movie and in that clip you'll see the actual place that you clicked on.

Correction: This is not a easter egg! These are instructions for what you are supposed to do in the Features menu.

Avatar (2009)

Corrected entry: In the sequence where the Navi try to upload Grace's human body to a Navi, you see Jake looking down on the two bodies. But in the next shot, he suddenly turns into Norm Spellman's avatar. (01:54:45)

Correction: That's because that is Norm Spellman's avatar. He is standing next to Jake.

Brad

Corrected entry: After the expedition first meets the king, he says to Kida that 'a thousand years ago you would've killed them on sight', but then a few scenes later, Milo calculates that Kida must be only 100 years old.

Correction: Actually, he "That must make you 85-8800 years old." He was saying that Kida is somewhere in her thousands. And either way, this is just Milo's theory, which could very easily be wrong. Kida's age is never stated in the film.

District 9 (2009)

Corrected entry: It was mentioned once in the movie that the aliens were on earth for about 20 years, meaning the film would've been set about 20 years in the future. Despite this, at about hour 5 minutes, you'll notice a 2010 Soccer World Cup logo at the top of a building.

Correction: It is also mentioned that the aliens landed in 1986, which puts the movie in 2010. This is seen on camera timestamps throughout the movie.

Wanted (2008)

Corrected entry: In the scene when Wesley slaps an office employee with a keyboard, seven letters pop off the keyboard spelling "FUCK YOU". This is impossible as there is only one "U" on a keyboard and said phrase requires two "U"s.

MidnytRain

Correction: Actually, one of the "U"s is one of the man's teeth that got smacked out of his mouth.

Avatar (2009)

Corrected entry: It is established that Jake's voice-over narration of the film is actually his video logs. After he escapes from Hell's Gate, he continues to narrate. However, Jake would have no reason to continue making video logs at this point. It was one of his video logs that ultimately betrayed the Na'vi, and the camera used to make the logs was in the shack without the link beds, which was left behind when they airlifted the other shack.

Correction: At the end of the movie, Jake is seen making one last video log after the humans have left. He probably would've picked up the story from there.

Up in the Air (2009)

Corrected entry: When Bateman and Clooney are in an office together have a look at the top middle of the screen, the fuzzy boom mic pokes his head down.

waxman

Correction: This is way too vague to be considered a mistake. Which office scene? There are two scenes when the two of them are in an office together. At what point in the scene does this occur?

Toy Story 2 (1999)

Corrected entry: Toys have been shown to not come alive until they are taken out of their box (Buzz in the first movie and in this movie). However, Stinky Pete has never left his box and is still alive.

Correction: It is never stated toys don't come alive until they are unwrapped. Perhaps the toys are just waiting to come alive until they are bought. They are simply putting on a charade to make people think that they're toys.

Scooby-Doo (2002)

Corrected entry: Near the end, where the reporters are all gathering around the gang as they exit the park, the reporter on the viewer's right is asking a question, while the reporter besider her, in the green, is mouthing the words at the same time.

Correction: I've just watched this scene and that is not true. The reporter's mouth moves only a little, but not during the entire line, and she's not mouthing any actual words. She just opens and closes her mouth for some reason.

Other mistake: While flying the helicopters, notice that the human pilots are not wearing protective masks in an open cockpit with the cargo doors wide open as the Avatars are either hanging out of, or staining to see past the pilots.

Suggested correction: This has been submitted and corrected three separate times. The cockpit is sealed off from the outside.

Brad

Baloney. The movie made several egregious errors involving the use of masks. In several scenes you see them not wearing masks in human form including going into the lab at the floating mountains. Everyone including Trudy should have been dead within minutes.

Avatar (2009)

Corrected entry: On the second trip to the planet Pandora using the helicopter, Jake and his folks are heading to the abandoned lab in the jungle, therefore they're still in human forms. As the shot gets the helicopter in the center getting also the trees and other details of the forest aside, you'll see two big blue humanoids (Avatars) sitting on the back of the helicopter.

fbferrari

Correction: Those are the dormant Avatar bodies they are taking to the lab.

Corrected entry: When the opening rabbit/duck season scenario is over, Daffy goes on to say, 'Page 6, Daffy gets blasted, page 7, Daffy gets blasted' etc. Each time he goes onto the next page, he is flipping four pages at a time, while only going up one each time. (00:01:05)

tc90

Correction: It's a joke. Daffy knows that "Daffy gets blasted" is on every page. He's not paying attention to the page numbers. He's making his point that the whole script is him getting shot.

Avatar (2009)

Corrected entry: In the very last few seconds of the film where the female avatar places her hand on Jake's avatar's sleeping face, her hand is human and not avatar blue.

Correction: I have just watched this scene and, while it appears that her skin is human color, it is merely an effect of the bright white light next to her. Similar to how your hand appears orange next to a yellow light.

Avatar (2009)

Corrected entry: The helicopter has men on the guns with masks yet the female pilot does not. Even when escaping with the scientists she turns around and says where to get the medical kit and doesn't have a mask on while the other humans do.

Correction: This is two separate mistakes, both of which can be explained. It has already been corrected that the helicopters have a sheet of glass seperating the cockpit from the rest of the copter, so Trudy is breathing human air. As for her copter not having a gunner, this is not a mistake. When the copters are bombing Hometree, Trudy, with her side gunner in tow leave the battle, saying "I didn't sign up for this shit." When Trudy went rouge with the rest of our heroes, her gunner didn't come with her, which is why Trudy flies solo in the final battle.

Brad

Wrong, there is no separation between the pilot and the cargo bay. Moreover the doctor, Sully and the lab rat are not wearing masks while the cargo door is not open. This is a major inexcusable error. Only "fictitious" excuse is that there is oxygen above a certain level with denser gases towards the surface. Otherwise this is indeed a major movie blunder.

Clockstoppers (2002)

Corrected entry: When they break into the lab to save their father, the alarm goes off. Both the people in hypertime and real time can hear it at the same pitch. How can this happen if they're moving at different times?

Correction: The entire sequence is shown only in hypertime, so there's no way to know if anyone in real time can hear the alarm.

Brad

Correction: Perhaps they have two specific intercom systems in place. One plays the alarm in real time, which is the public alarm. The second alarm is played on specially-engineered speakers (much like the computers in the Hypertime Chamber) that have perhaps some expert wiring to grant Ultrasound transmission.

Avatar (2009)

Corrected entry: When Jake is giving his Braveheart speech, from behind he appears to have four fingers instead of three.

Correction: Jake doesn't have three fingers, he has four just like us. The Avatar bodies are mixed with human DNA, so they have the same number of fingers and toes as humans. This is clearly shown when Jake first links with his avatar. The Na'vi all have three fingers and a thumb.

Brad

Corrected entry: Egypt: When Sam and Mikaela separate from Leo & Simmons (right after finding the Matrix), Sam gets in Bumblebee and Mikaela runs to the left away from Bumblebee and out of the shot. Bumblebee then drives away without her. Even Leo is turned around watching her run the wrong way as if to say, "Where you going, girl?" Also after this scene, why are Mikaela and Sam no longer in Bumblebee? I never understood how and why they get out of the car and travel on foot to the pillars instead of driving. (01:47:15)

dozernella

Correction: Sam and Mikaela run off to get to Optimus. Bumblebee stays behind to distract the Decepticons. This is all specifically stated in the scene.

Avatar (2009)

Corrected entry: At the end of the movie, Norm appears to be standing holding a gun, but then seconds later his avatar is the background of the next shot. How can he be standing there next to his avatar, when his avatar had been shot dead?

tomokai

Correction: It has been shown that there are multiple Avatars for multiple soldiers. This Avatar must be another human who decided to remain on the planet.
