Corrected entry: To test Jamal's ignorance he is asked, and fails to know, that Gandhi on a high denomination currency note. Gandhi is on all Indian currency, smallest to largest. Even if he had never seen the really big bills, he would know Gandhi was on them.

Corrected entry: When they test Robocop's functions while he sits on the chair, the female scientist says "Record" while the man next to her goes "Aaah" for the third time. But in the playback, the "Aaah" that he says is at a higher pitch. (00:31:45)
Correction: All the voices and sounds in the recordings sound "tinny" and higher-pitched. This is a Hollywood staple for any sound produced by a mechanical device, such as a tape, radio, walkie, etc.

Corrected entry: When we see Wikus start to lose his fingernails we see a shot that looks to be through the security cameras. The date is on the lower right as 2010/09/08 (8th of August 2010). When Wikus and Christopher break in to MNU, the date is shown on the security cameras to be 2010/13/08 (13th of August), four days later (roughly 96 hours). After escaping and going back to District 9, Wikus is captured and it displays "72 hours after exposure" on screen.
Correction: In order to accurately calculate the time span as 96 hours later, you'd need to know that both scenes occured at the same exact time of day. The closer you are to midnight, the less time you would need for the date changeover.

Corrected entry: If starting up the buried vehicle with the fluid canister was so straightforward and quick, why not do it as soon as the canister was prepared at the beginning of the movie instead of hiding it for later? Christopher could have easily closed the floor hatch and started the vehicle.
Correction: Since we don't know the details of Christopher's original plan, this is simply a question, not a mistake.

Corrected entry: If the fertiliser that was on King's money made Bond's ice cubes foam was on Bond's fingers, and therefore on the outside of the ice cubes, why didn't they start foaming immediately? In the first shot of his drink there is no (or only very little) foaming, whereas it foams a lot more when he is about to drink.
Correction: Things that are not answered are mysteries, not necessarily mistakes. The foaming could have been a delayed and not immediate reaction.

Corrected entry: Wikus is running away in the suit, after the alien that he is helping is captured and on the ground surrounded by the MNU forces. Just before Wikus comes back, there is a shot of the alien with what looks like red blood around his left eye. In the following shots, like in the craft, the "blood" is now gone. Also, near the start of the movie the alien blood is established as a black color, so shouldn't be red around his eye.
Correction: You're assuming the red is blood and that it belongs to the alien. There was plenty of human carnage in that scene to account for red substances on anyone.

Corrected entry: In the scene when Kimble jumps from the train, a moment later the bus is demolished by the train and roars past Kimball. A moment later, Kimble is almost run over by the engine, indicating he must have run down the tracks faster than the train.
Correction: A few moments after smashing into the bus, we see one of the cars (which may also be an engine-type car) decouple from the car in front and derail, almost running Kimble down. It may be an engine car, but it was not at the front of the train.

Gran Torino (2008)
Corrected entry: Walt's Gran Torino was built in Lorain, OH, not the Detroit area. Correctors like to say it is possible he could have been working in a plant closer to Detroit, such as Dearborn, (which in 1972 was building Mustangs) but want proof that Walt's two door fastback Gran Torino was not built in Detroit. It is not a matter of opinion or supposition, the information is available on the information plate of the car. One website submitted by a corrector only showed how to decipher the information on the data plate, and showed all the Ford plants in North America, not just where the Gran Torino was built. Contrary to the correction, this was not a key plot point in the movie, the plot doesn't fall apart because of it and the line about him installing the steering column is likely a mistake by the scriptwriter. There are more examples I can give, but this entry is already too long. It is highly unlikely Walt would commute a minimum of two hours to work in Lorain when other Ford plants were closer, and it's more likely he would have built his pickup at the truck assembly in the Detroit area.
Correction: By my recollection, nothing specific is ever said about precisely how long Walt's lived in Detroit. He could have lived in Ohio in the early '70s and then transfered to another Ford factory in Detroit some time later. This still could give him thirty years to reside in the home and notice the influx of immigrants in the area.
Corrected entry: The medical ship where Luke, Leia and the droids are in at the end of the movie is transparent.
Correction: This needs more details. In which shot is it transparent? Which part of the ship? The only transparent portion I see is the gigantic bay window they stand in front of just before the credits.

Beauty and the Beast (1991)
Corrected entry: Gaston's surprise wedding ceremony is a considerable extensive do up, incorporating several tables, a full wedding feast, elaborate decorations, a band and half the town populace in attendance. Belle is then shown to be inside her house reading a book, and apparently none the wiser that a wedding was planned for her as she acts both surprised and shocked when Gaston brings it up and she later sings about it. Seems a bit of a stretch that Belle was apparently at home during the many hours it would've taken to build that whole shindig and never once went outside to do chores or even look out a window. To further compound the believability of this scene, the wedding set up is then revealed to be right outside her front door meaning she would also have been able to hear any sounds of people constructing decorations, setting down tables, tuning instruments or getting food ready and just dismiss them as no big deal.
Correction: First of all, while she can see the set-up from outside her front door, it's not exactly in the front yard. It's down the hill a little ways. Secondly, Belle is shown to be a dreamer, lost in her books, and not very interested in the goings-on of her boring, poor provincial town. She may have noticed stuff happening, but wasn't interested in the details - especially since at this point she had no idea that the wedding was going to be for her.

The Others (2001)
Corrected entry: The children's condition is called Xeroderma pigmentosum, according to a special feature in the DVD. When first bringing Mrs. Mills to meet the children, Grace explains that the children are photosensitive and cannot bear light much stronger than that emitted by the lamp she is carrying. Xeroderma patients are sensitive to ultraviolet light, a certain kind of light (wavelength, and not the intensity (amplitude) of the light. The children should be able to bear a strong light like anyone else so long as it is not UV.
Correction: Firstly, the film takes place in the late 1940s, you would hardly expect a layman of that era to fully understand the distinction of ultraviolet light. Secondly, the film establishes Grace as mentally unbalanced and prone to hyperbole. Finally, the whole "world" Grace lives in is a fantasy. The rules could be whatever her mind sets it to be.

Star Wars (1977)
Corrected entry: When the Garindan, aka "Long Snout," directs the Stormtroopers toward the launch bay for the Millennium Falcon, he whacks himself in the nose as he points. Not only does this reveal the bogus rubbery nose, but it's also likely that a creature that spent his entire life with that nose would have learned by now not to hit himself there.
Correction: This is a ridiculous stretch just to create a mistake. We have no idea what the skeletal structure (if any) of the creature's "nose" may be. It could be like human ears, which also seem rubbery when you touch them. And humans' whole life experiences haven't prevented them from accidentally hitting themselves in the face, biting their own tongues or tripping over their own feet all the time.

Ghostbusters (1984)
Corrected entry: In the sequence where the ghosts go berserk in New York, one ghost shoots itself into a taxi cab through the muffler. Right after that a man goes into the taxi, and we see the ghost at the wheel, in the form of a live corpse. The taxi then proceeds to drive off. However, it is now being driven by a regular guy, easily visible in the shot for a second or two.
Correction: We have no idea if this is an actual ghost driving the car (if so, this is the only instance in the film where a ghost manifests itself in a solid form), or if it's a possession, giving the driver the momentary appearance of a corpse.

Beauty and the Beast (1991)
Corrected entry: In the scene where Beast gives Belle the library, he takes her into the very dark library with her eyes closed. We then see Belle's face react to the sound of Beast opening two or three curtains and we see the room grow lighter. He tells Belle to open her eyes and we are visually journeyed through the room as Belle sees it. There are many very large, high windows that the beast could not have made it to and we did not hear him open their curtains in that space of time.
Correction: There are *two* tall windows in the library. And *two* sets of curtains we hear him open. In fact, the first set of curtains he opens is on Belle's right. And while we don't see him open the second set, we see him approach her from the left, suggesting he opened those second.

Corrected entry: The daughter of Don (green eyes) and Betty (blue eyes) Draper has brown eyes, a genetic impossibility.
Correction: Not true. High school biology over-simplifies genetics to: The brown gene is dominant over the blue gene. But in reality the genetic determination of eye color is much more complicated. While it's not especially common, two blue-eyed (or green-eyed) parents CAN produce a brown-eyed child.

Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987)
Corrected entry: When the away team goes down to the planet, the oily blob blocks their path, like a moving moat, and Riker gets sucked into that. But later, the blob returns to covering the shuttle craft like it did before they arrived. But Riker is still inside it, he is released only later. So the moat is temporarily gone. Where is he supposed to be during the time that the black blob covers the shuttle?
Correction: The material and properties that comprise Armus (the oily blob) are unknown - since the tricorders cannot scan it. So we can only extrapolate from what we see and hear. When Riker is absorbed by the entity, he is essentially made part of the oily blob. in other words, he's liquefied. So Riker is still a part of Armus when it envelops the shuttle, he just doesn't have his physical form.

Planet of the Apes (2001)
Corrected entry: When Leo returns to the Earth of 2001 through the storm, he flies from orbit around Saturn to orbit around Earth in a matter of a few minutes. This would require him to be traveling significantly faster than the speed of light, which is impossible.
Correction: Time travel and talking apes are also "impossible." It's a science fiction film, and faster than light travel is one of its conventions.
