Lethal Weapon 2 (1989)

Corrected entry: When Riggs, Leo, and the bad guy crash through the hotel window they push the curtains to the side, but when they sail down into the pool the curtains are wrapped around them. (00:27:20)

NancyFelix

Correction: When the three of them fell they took the tablecloth from the room service cart with them, not the window curtain.

The Ring (2002)

Corrected entry: At Katie's wake Rachel asks Katie's father if he's alright. When the camera angle changes the wine glass in front of him changes from oval to bulbous. (00:13:35)

NancyFelix

Correction: There are 2 glasses: 1 of wine with goblet shape, and 1 of water (or some other transparent liquid) which has the form of a short cylinder.

Corrected entry: When Idgie rescues Ruth from her husband she comes with Big George and a friend. When they all drive off Big George is missing in the car. (00:48:40)

NancyFelix

Correction: Actually, Big George climbs into the rumble seat with Ruth's luggage, you can see him there when they are driving off, but he is not distinct due to the darkness of the car, the seat and Big George's own skin color. He is there, but he is somewhat hard to see.

Night on Earth (1991)

Corrected entry: When camera cuts back to Victoria at the baggage claim she takes off her last piece of luggage. For some reason the belt has stopped already, only a minute after it has started, and her suitcase happens to be right there where she is standing. (00:07:40)

NancyFelix

Correction: It is stated in the movie that the scene is taking place at the EXECUTIVE terminal. A place for small planes with half a dozen people on them. No need to run the baggage carousel for 1/2 an hour. As for her bag being right there, during the cut away to Corky on the phone, she could have taken a few steps.

The Godfather (1972)

Corrected entry: Before the car that takes Michael to the clandestine meeting at Louis' makes a sudden u-turn on the highway, the car in the left lane almost stops to make room for the stunt. (01:19:45)

NancyFelix

Correction: That vehicle is actually part of the strategy. As they complete the u-turn you can see the vehicle moving forward and stopping exactly to block every other car from attempting the same u-turn. This was done to make sure nobody was following them.

Forrest Gump (1994)

Correction: The pillow does not move - there two different pillows but the angle of the shot is different.

Wonder Boys (2000)

Corrected entry: When Tripp, Crabtree, and Antonia arrive at the Gaskells' home Sara comes down the hallway with an almost empty wine glass. While they are talking she holds the glass in the right hand. Then her dog comes to attack Tripp, and when she grabs him at the collar the glass is suddenly in her left hand, and has changed to an almost full champagne glass. (00:08:20)

NancyFelix

Correction: I have watched this scene dozens of time. In each instance, first when she starts to fall and prof. Tripp catches her, she is holding a martini glass, clear liquid, large olive in glass. When she asks Crabtree to take the dog and also hands him her drink it is the same martini as all other instances.

Dirty Harry (1971)

Corrected entry: When Harry stops the bank robbers he gets shot in his leg. The blood on his pants is way too bright, even if it were arterial blood (but it's not, looking at the casual way he is dealing with his injury). (00:12:15)

NancyFelix

Correction: No injury from being shot - it was ketchup that splattered from the hot dog he was eating. Hence the casual way he's looking at it.

Correction: Harry went for treatment and asked for a bandage and Mercurochrome.

Corrected entry: During the communion party Senator Geary thanks Tony's parents for their donation. Then he asks "Mike, Pat, and Kay" to stand up. He should have said Tony instead of Pat, as Pat is his own first name and Tony gets up with his parents. (Intentional in-joke.) (00:14:05)

NancyFelix

Correction: This post is incorrect. The Senator said "Pat" and then quickly corrected himself and said "Kay," in reference to Michael's wife. The misspoken name was put in to show how fake the Senator was and that he didn't even know Michael and his wife all that well, to the point where he actually thought her name was "Pat," before correcting himself in mid-sentence. He was NOT trying to say "Tony." The misspoken name was on purpose and not a movie mistake.

I've always thought this odd too since the senators name was Pat.

Respectfully, I have watched that scene over and over and get no sense that the senator is "correcting" himself, he just says the wrong name. It is possible that he had so little respect for Michael that he got his son's name wrong because he didn't care to remember it, but I do not think he was correcting himself at all.

Admittedly, it is also possible that the senator cared so little for Michael that he didn't care to remember the correct name of Michael's son, which would not make much sense since the check was written out in the son's name, which he just said before he mentioned his parents' names.

The River Wild (1994)

Corrected entry: Gail skinny dips at night, facing the river bank where Maggie is waiting. Then Maggie starts barking, Gail turns around and sees Wade watching her. As Wade was in her field of vision already she wouldn't have to turn back to see him. (00:38:05)

NancyFelix

Correction: Gail isn't facing the river bank whilst skinny dipping - she's facing into the river the whole time. There is one point where she seems to be briefly in a daydream (right after Maggie the dog comes down to the river bank and she says 'it's ok Maggie, I'll be out in a minute'), but she says that, still with her back to the river bank. It's when Maggie starts barking and growling that Gail finally turns round to see Wade standing there, watching her.

Gangs of New York (2002)

Corrected entry: In the scene where the little dog fights the rats it's supposed to kill 25 in three minutes. When the bag with the rats is opened something like 10 rats fall on the ground. (00:33:55)

NancyFelix

Correction: This is simple editing similar to not watching the entirety of a 3-hour car ride. The viewer does not need to see the multiple bags of rats dropped into the pit to get the desired effect.

Finally3

Corrected entry: Jim takes John to the so-called ballroom to show him a piece of his collection, the dagger with which Rasputin was killed. John puts his half-empty champagne glass down, and when Jim opens the box with the dagger the glass is almost full again. (00:23:55)

NancyFelix

Correction: Not at all - the liquid remains consistent. Actually, Jude Law's hand changes on the bottle from the camera angle switch when he asks for $20. From the body of the bottle to the neck.

Corrected entry: When Lotte chases Maxine through JM's subconscious she shoots at her while she escapes through a door. The bullet hole in the door frame appears a second later. (01:34:05)

NancyFelix

Correction: The laws of real-world physics don't necessarily apply to a chase taking place inside a person's subconscious.

The Color Purple (1985)

Corrected entry: It doesn't make sense that Celie's children can't speak a word of English when they come back from Africa. They had been with Nettie all the time and with the missionaries for many years, and even if they had eventually resorted to speaking the local language exclusively there should be enough English left that they could greet their mother. (01:05:20)

NancyFelix

Correction: If you listen closely to Olivia, she is actually speaking perfect English to her mom. She says, "Mama, I want to know you mama. My mother?" she then, as she is crying and being embraced by her mother, repeats, "I want to know you mama."

Corrected entry: Sawyer drives through Venice for miles before he fires the flare and crashes the car. He would have needed hours to return to the Nautilus, but he comes back after a few minutes. (01:01:10)

NancyFelix

Correction: We are not shown entire drive that Sawyer takes. It is not possible for a movie to show the entire drive in real time.

M*A*S*H (1970)

Corrected entry: The driver who was supposed to drive Hawkeye to the camp, after Hawkeye and Duke have gone off with the stolen jeep and after he has poured his coffee over his commander, can't help laughing so hard that he has to cover his face at the end of the shot. (00:06:00)

NancyFelix

Correction: Could happen to the character, too.

Wolf (1994)

Corrected entry: When Will and Alden walk up to the horses one horse (Fort Knox) gets its blanket removed. However, a few shots earlier we see it already without the blanket, snorting at the wolf-to-be. (00:15:10)

NancyFelix

Correction: After the blanket is removed from the horse at the party and the horse starts going crazy the blanket keeps appearing and disappearing on the horse every few shots.

Corrected entry: Fowler has not been informed how and when Pyle would be killed, in fact he was only able to guess from Hinh's hints that a murder is planned. But when he arrives at the Vieux Moulin where he was asked to meet Pyle he only requests a table for one, something that's held against him later when inspector Vigot interrogates him. (01:18:35)

NancyFelix

Correction: Reading the book by Graham Greene, Fowler knows that Pyle is never going to join him in the restaurant, that is part of the subtility of the story. The single table reservation is a mistake by Fowler, implicating him, but it is not a movie mistake.

Airborne60

Corrected entry: As a signal to the assassins, Pyle was asked to show himself on the balcony with a book in his hand. This is supposed to indicate that he would be having dinner with Pyle at the Vieux Moulin. However, he gives the signal before he has asked Pyle to meet, therefore not yet sure if the dinner would work out as planned. (01:17:35)

NancyFelix

Correction: Mistake, yes but not a movie mistake. Fowler does exactly that in the book written by Graham Greene.

Working Girl (1988)

Corrected entry: When Tess catches her boyfriend Mick having sex with one of her friends in their bedroom Mick is shocked and embarrassed, but the girl just keeps going as if nothing was happening. It's pathetic acting. (00:29:00)

NancyFelix

Correction: Not really. She, in fact, does stop and her eyes move slowly to Tess. Then when Mick is trying to talk his way out of it, Doreen puts her arm on his shoulder and puts her face in her hand, also embarrassed. She IS still breathing hard, however, because the sex abruptly stopped.
