Mad Max 2 (1981)

Question: It appears that the boomerang would have had to spin in the opposite direction to kill the blonde guy the way it did. Am I looking at this the right way or is my limited knowledge of aerodynamics totally backwards?

Movie Nut

Chosen answer: The filmmakers obviously didn't research the intricate logistics of aerodynamics of how a boomerang is thrown. It simply looked cool leaving the kid's hand and killing the blonde guy the way it did.

Dra9onBorn117

Revealing mistake: After Forrester picks up the school bus sign, there's a shot of a Martian machine blasting at a bridge. Looking closely, the light poles can be seen through the machine, showing the model was matted over the background.

Other mistake: In the War Room, the Martians' movements are demonstrated on a chalkboard, but push pins easily go into it a moment later as if it were cardboard or sheet rock.

Movie Nut

Other mistake: In the farmhouse, when Sylvia looks out and sees movement, she claims it was too dark to see. However, the Martian was lit up enough to be seen from a distance, and details on it were seen.

Other mistake: When the people in the bunker are watching the Reverend walking, there is a distinct meshing of two separate scenes.

Movie Nut

Revealing mistake: In the first scene of the crashed meteor, on the extreme left of the scene where the smoke is, it seems to be billowing up from behind a stage wall, as there is a definite vertical line and a gap between the smoke and the left edge of the frame.

Tron (1982)

Continuity mistake: The Acceleration Stick Flynn uses in the Recognizer goes from flat side forward to edge on and back. Also, in a shot from behind, the background appears through the stick just before Flynn crashes.

Continuity mistake: When Beta takes off his head to adjust his hearing, it alternates between his real read, and an obvious dummy head between shots.

Other mistake: When Centauri "dies", he had a smile when stopped moving. After Grig closes Centauri's eyes, not only is the smile gone, but you see his now-closed right eye flinch after Grig's hand is gone.

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: As the entry itself notes by putting "dies" in quotation marks, Centauri is not really dead. His body simply shut down to repair itself, which means it is still operating on some level, which allows for the possibility of small movements as described.

Vader47000

Revealing mistake: As the stars speed up due to the star drive, you can see them shining through the solid part of the door.

Gilligan's Island (1964)

Revealing mistake: As Ernest is flying around the bank, it can be seen numerous times that he's really sitting in front of a green screen with the bank projected behind him.
