Hancock (2008)

Stupidity: Why on earth would the prisoners gang up on Hancock in the prison yard and threaten him with violence? They know who he is, and they know he is an invulnerable superhero and could take everyone of them down painfully with one hand. Even those who don't have personal experience of him would know from the media reports that he cannot be beaten by a human being. Don't tell me they think he is a reformed character or that he has somehow been 'weakened' by his imprisonment - they continue attacking him AFTER he has violently punished two, brutally humiliating two of them for merely threatening him - and they hurt themselves hitting him even when he just stood still and took it. Basic prison mentality - do not attack an opponent that you cannot beat. Losing a fight means losing status, losing face, and in a hellhole prison like the one in which Hancock is incarcerated, that can be - and often is - fatal.

Suggested correction: It wasn't so much as them believing they could beat him. But several factors here. The invincible superhero is suddenly in prison and not breaking out. It is reasonable to believe that a lot of inmates would think that perhaps he has been weakened and thus vulnerable and see this as opportunity for revenge. Even if that's not the case, basic prison mentality is to prove dominance and show no weakness. Attacking Hancock would demonstrate to the other prisoners that they did not have fear and were tough, even if they couldn't win as a way of proving themselves. Not only this, but the type of people in a prison tend to not be the most forward thinking type.

This correction is just plain wrong. Do you think Mike Tyson was ever attacked during his incarceration? Not a chance. I was in the Melbourne Remand Centre when a karate expert - he came third in the world championships - joined us after being banged up on his sixth dui charge. He was "ghosted" - that's an actual thing in prison - treated as if he wasn't even there. Not even the toughest of the tough would even acknowledge his presence.

Star Trek (2009)

Corrected entry: When the Admiral announces they have received a distress call from Vulcan, Spock prematurely reacts to the name of the planet before it is spoken. (00:35:15)

jbrbbt

Correction: He is not initially reacting to the name Vulcan when he turns. Just before that name is said, the words distress call are said, and it is that moment when Spock turns his head, coincidentally before the name of his planet was spoken. Just about anybody would react to the words distress call by instantly looking at the person who said it.

The Heat (2013)

Corrected entry: In the scene near the end of the movie where Sandra Bullock is stabbed in the leg by one of the villains, there is no evidence of blood in that scene or any scene afterwards.

Correction: Adrenalin was rushing through her when she was first stabbed and all through that scene. So blood would not have been gushing from the wound. And Shannon bandaged her up later so when the adrenaline was gone, it was covered.

Equilibrium (2002)

Corrected entry: In the scene where Preston is returning to the building to get his Prozium resupplied, the car has on the rims as it drives up to the building. But when he is picked up by his partner and they are driving off, it's quite obvious that the car has on hub-caps instead of the original rims. (00:24:55)

Correction: I see the same hub caps as it drives up and drives off.

Equilibrium (2002)

Corrected entry: When Preston is confronted with the dog, the guard says to him "Unknown individuals are subject to summary destruction" but watch his mouth when he says the last bit. It doesn't match what he's saying. (00:49:55)

Correction: If you watch closely, you can see that the guy has a mouth guard in. This would cause his lips to not move the way they would with normal speech.

Equilibrium (2002)

Corrected entry: During the second Preston/Mary interview, when the two are facing away from each other, the camera cuts between close-ups of the two. During Preston's close-ups, Mary's face is turned to the side. During her own, she is facing forward. (01:05:35)

Correction: She actually does have her head to the side in her close ups. It's just a little difficult to tell with the angle she was filmed from.

Equilibrium (2002)

Corrected entry: At the end when Father says "I live, I breathe" the shot behind him shows his mouth saying something else. (01:37:15)

Correction: You can't even see his mouth from that angle. His jaw and cheeks visibly move, and by all appearances, match his words with movement.

Sonic X (2003)

Correction: It's Sonic. He can run faster than the speed of sound on foot. That would rip the flesh off normal people or animals. His body is very durable, similar to Superman or other superheroes. Reentry wouldn't hurt him severely.

Lockout (2012)

Corrected entry: After Emilie gets off the escape pod and rejoins Snow on MS-1, they begin to argue whether her father would authorise an attack with her still aboard. As Snow says "I would love to, but I can't", his back is to Emilie until he spins around facing her and the camera. His mouth does not move when he utters "I can't." (01:07:25)

AngryBird

Correction: His mouth does not have to be moving to say "I can't". He is talking through his teeth at that point, as depicted by his open mouth. Try it yourself. Say 'I can't' through your teeth. Your lips don't need to move.

Quantom X

Corrected entry: In the scene where they are transporting the warheads with the Apache air escorts, just as Duke says, "I thought we were done with this conversation," about five and a half minutes in, there seems to be a passenger coach in the middle of the desert very close to the secret base. (They don't see or acknowledge it.) (00:05:40)

Correction: Watched that part over and over looking for it. Only thing visible then is a vehicle in front of theirs. It is not civilian, but another Hummer in the convoy.

Men in Black (1997)

Corrected entry: When Edgar stabs the Arquillians in the neck, they appear to die instantly from their wounds. However we see later at the morgue that the bodies are controlled from a control room in their heads. A neck wound to the robot body would not appear to be fatal to the operator in the robot's head.

Correction: The alien's robot was obviously designed to emulate human appearance and function. More than likely, it was designed to emulate bodily functions as well in respect to operations and keeping the inhabitant alive. A breach of the neck would have most likely compromised the life support system of the robot, thus exposing the alien to Earth environment unprotected, and that would have been what caused him to die. It is shown that the alien and robot are indeed connected, as the blue lights and functions turn off as soon as he passes away when talking to J.

Hulk (2003)

Corrected entry: In the scene where the Hulk destroys the tanks, we see see a close-up of the tank tread on the soft sand. Later in the scene the Hulk swings a 20 ton turret around and throws it off into the distance. While the Hulk has incredible strength, the desert sand does not, so it would not bear the immense reaction forces required. Simply, he should have sunk into the sand.

Correction: It could be just a layer of sand on a layer of rock below it. Some of the fighting does take place on a cliff.

Quantom X

Corrected entry: During the fight sequence between the Turtles and the foot soldiers in the TGRI lab, Michaelangelo has the Ooze when two foot soldiers somersault into view to surround our groovy hero. Watch the foot soldier flipping into the shot in the background. You can see the crash pad he's landing on to help protect the actor. (00:26:25)

Correction: Watched that part several times over, even in slow mo to find it. I never saw any evidence of a crash pad.

Quantom X

Correction: This is not a mistake. The movie shows Jean, several times, switch between the pistol and the sub machine gun during this chase. Sub machine guns are good for high rate of fire, but horrible at accuracy. Pistols, while still not the most accurate, are much more precise than a sub. She would switch between them as needed for needing too spread many bullets at a target hard to hit, or have more precise aim when the target is steadier.

Quantom X

Corrected entry: After Spock and McCoy rig the photon torpedo to lock on to plasma discharge, why did the torpedo only detect Chang's vessel and not the Excelsior's? (01:41:10)

Teru_Kage

Correction: They 'doctored' the torpedo specifically to track the exhaust trail generated by a Klingon Bird of Prey's warp drive signature.

Rush Hour (1998)

Corrected entry: At the part where Soo Yung and the 2 Asian guys are in traffic, then diverted down the side street, you can see plenty of people walking the streets right before and when they are stopped. Then Sang shoots and kills the two guys and fights with Soo Yung. It's "rush hour" in Los Angeles in a busy section, why does no one witness this? (00:11:00)

Timothy Conard

Correction: It's downtown in L.A. Pretty much self explanatory. An area with a large crime rate and notorious for criminal retaliation against snitches and witnesses. It was noticed, but shrugged off.

Quantom X

Corrected entry: When Earl and Hank abandon the car in the car wash, they leave the wash without coming across any other cars. In the background after they leave, however, there is a white car pulling out. (00:58:15)

Correction: If you look closely, while in the police car in the wash, it appears there is a car in the wash ahead of them. It's difficult to see through the suds on the windshield, but there appears to be a white vehicle in front of them also being washed. This is most likely the car seen leaving the car wash after they leave on foot.

Quantom X

Corrected entry: In the academy scene when Martin Lawrence is going through the police chase drill, while chasing down one of the trainers, who is now on foot, he jumps out of the car while it is still moving. He tucks, rolls and gets up and runs BACK to imitate arresting a suspect (his trainer) and the police car veers off to the right while still moving forward. When the car explodes, Martin and the trainer look BEHIND them. Did the car circle around them and all the other cadets in the academy?

Correction: The movie never shows anybody turning around to look at the explosion. In fact, Earl simply just lowers his arms, and doesn't move other than that.

Quantom X

Corrected entry: When Hiccup draws Toothless in the glen for the first time, he smudges the left tail section, indicating his understanding of the problem of why Toothless can't fly. When we next see the drawing, at dinner that night, the left tail section is clear and unsmudged. (And later in the film, it's smudged again.) Even if the filmmakers "fixed" this error while still in theaters, the DVD version I have shows the original errors - smudge/no smudge/smudge.

MovieFan612

Correction: I have the DVD of the movie. And at the dinner table when Hiccup places the drawing on the dragon manual, the smudge is shown there.

Quantom X

Corrected entry: When Toothless first brings Hiccup and Astrid to the dragon's nest, it is nighttime. About a minute later, when they leave the nest, we can tell that it is daytime. The camera cuts to them back at Berk, and it is nighttime again. (00:57:15 - 00:58:45)

Correction: What you are seeing at that time index, is not day light at the top of the next/mountain. It is moon light brightening up the clouds over head, or possibly smoke/steam coming from the mountain. It is still very much night time at the moment they leave the nest.
