A Good Day to Die Hard (2013)
Question: This movie was given a 12 rating by the BBFC in cinemas in the United Kingdom, but the DVD is given a 15 rating. Why is this?
Answer: Twentieth Century Fox desperately wanted a box office destroying, record breaking haul and quite rightly, or not so in this case, thought that a 12A (the certificate it was awarded in cinemas) would garner them a gigantic amount of dough. In the U.K. you can only have a certain amount of the F word if you want your film to be a 12A. (It used to be one F word for a 12).

Question: Candie tells Shultz the deal is not final until they shake hands, as is tradition in the South, and without the hand shake, the legal documents are void. Was this actually how it was back then, or was Candie just doing that to further get under Shultz's skin?
Chosen answer: Since it would be rather difficult to prove in a court of law whether a handshake had been performed or not before video cameras had been invented, no, there was no enforceable law about handshakes being required to make a contract legal. However, it was likely a very strong and respected tradition.

Question: Why did the Howells, Ginger and Mary Ann have so many changes of clothes with them? It was only a three hour tour.
Answer: Bob Denver answered this when he was on a talk show hosted by Pat Sajak. He said they were going to write into an episode where the castaways found all these clothes, but it got too complicated, so he said, they decided, "who cares, it's only a TV show," and forgot about it. So the writers and actors even asked this, they just never bothered to address it.
Answer: I've been binge watching it, and a couple of times trunks with costumes have washed ashore, and in one episode the professor figured out how to make thread for weaving cloth.

General questions
I am looking for a film from possibly the late 80s, that somehow involves rich kids and horses and high school kids trying to sneak into college dorms. The film wraps up with a young couple who have been trying to be intimate with each other getting a fancy hotel room and trying to make the moment perfect, but consequently the girl gets food poisoning or the flu which botches their big plans. Right before the credits roll she finds him sulking on the shoreline outside the hotel and they sleep together there. Does this ring any bells?

Question: Why did Professor Snape insist on teaching Professor Lupin's class about werewolves (when he takes over the class)? If he or any other staff members suspected Lupin of being one, it seems that they wouldn't want to cause any panic or distraction among the students.
Answer: Severus Snape hates Remus Lupin because he was best friends with Sirius Black and James Potter, who used to torment Snape when they were all students at Hogwarts together. Snape is teaching the class about werewolves in the hope that one or more of the students will recognize Lupin for what he is, tell their parents about it, and then Lupin will be fired from his position. Snape takes this roundabout course of action most likely because all the faculty had promised Dumbledore to keep Lupin's nature a secret from the student body for this very reason.

General questions
In all the Superman movies, animated movies, and shows, how is it that his suit never seems to rip or tear or take much damage at all, if any, despite all the beatings he takes?
Chosen answer: The official answer is that Superman's invulnerability extends a few millimeters out from his skin. Which explains both why he chooses to wear tights in the first place and why they don't get obliterated, but does not explain why his cape comes away mostly unscathed as well. Although given his suit is often portrayed as being alien in origin too, that would explain its durability.

Question: In the scene where the raptor tries to break in and Lex is on the computer, Grant and Ellie holds the door to block the raptor, Lex is on the computer, and Tim is looking over her doing nothing. Ellie keeps trying to get the gun with her foot. Is there a reason I'm missing where she couldn't have just asked Tim to run and get the gun for her?
Answer: I wouldn't want a kid to handle a gun in any way, even if they were just handing it to me; they could accidentally set it off. Maybe that thought entered her mind.

Minority Report (2002)
Question: There is a huge question for me. Is the vision of Leo Crow vs. Anderton the vision of what effectively happens (Leo Crow pushes the gun into the hand of Anderton who doesn't want to kill him) or the vision of the homicide WANTED by Anderton (that in the reality changes his idea)? My opinion is that the first answer is correct, because in the vision we see Crow that says to Anderton "Wait!" because he wants to be killed by him. So, if my opinion is correct, Anderton does NOT change the vision?
Chosen answer: Correct, Anderton does not change the vision. The movie is named after what you've just described: the minority report. Agatha always sees the true future, the other two precogs usually see the same as her but sometimes they only see a possible future instead. When Agatha's predictions conflict with theirs, her vision is termed a "minority report" and is disregarded. Anderton was never actually going to kill Crow, it was only ever merely a possibility.
I don't think there is ever a "true future", as in Agatha's own words to John - "You can still choose! You have a choice!" Even the final red ball, Lamar chose to go against the precogs' prevision, which was something that the 3 precogs agreed on. Therefore, a "true future" can be broken and does not exist.
Adding to that, the precog vision of Anderton killing Crow I totally different from what actually happened. In the vision Anderton says to Crow "Goodbye Crow" and shoots him from a distance, which he didn't do at the actual event. So the precog knowledge Anderton has definitely changed the future. He already decided not to kill Crow, but Crow died anyway.

Equilibrium (2002)
Question: After Preston kills DuPont, there is no blood or wound on his neck. Only moments later, he goes to destroy the Father broadcasting room, and suddenly there is a cut on his neck with blood on his collar. Is this a mistake, or is it implied that he fought more and got injured between DuPont's office and the broadcast room?
Chosen answer: This is actually addressed in the DVD director's commentary. The wound was caused by a bullet grazing Preston's neck during his gun duel with DuPont. Due to adrenaline and shock however, it didn't begin to bleed until after Preston had killed DuPont and his body began to relax. The relative unlikelihood of this is moot since it is technically possible. So the scene in the broadcast room takes place immediately after Preston kills DuPont. Interestingly, it was Christian Bale's idea to add the wound because he thought it would make Preston seem too superhuman if he escaped the previous battles completely unharmed.

Question: Why wasn't Johnny disqualified for his own "illegal contact to the knee" like Bobby was? We know the ref saw it happen because he gave Johnny a warning. Never made sense to me.
Answer: The answer makes no sense since Johnny caught the leg and purposely rams the elbow into the back of the knee. There was no accident about it. Even the ref acknowledged this.
Chosen answer: Johnny attacked an illegal area which the rules accept may happen accidentally and so they have provisions for warnings and such in light of that possibility, whereas Bobby performed an illegal technique which cannot happen accidentally, and therefore the rules call for immediate disqualification.
That wasn't an accident; Johnny deliberately elbowed the back of the knee. But having him disqualified would be a terrible ending to a great film. The warning was for plot reasons.
Answer: The movie never explains this and it always seemed like an error to me. I've always reconciled it by saying that a flying kick to an opponents knee is considered so egregious it warrants an instant disqualification, while an elbow to the knee only draws a warning. Once again, the movie never actually says this so it's only speculation but it does make some sort of sense if you think about it.
Answer: I always took it to mean that the kick Bobby did actually put Daniel in a position where he was unable to continue, and that it was a definite attempt at maliciousness (at least in the referee's eyes), whereas Johnny's attack might have simply been an accident. Look when Bobby kicked Daniel's knee-the fight just started, and it wasn't an accident. When Johnny connected (Up to this point Johnny fought fairly and within the rules) they were in the middle of a match, and Johnny simply hit him illegally without intending to. When I used to train and fight in tournaments, I once got punched across the jaw by an opponent who got a warning. When he did it a second time a few seconds later, he was disqualified. It wasn't something that appeared malicious, it was just in the heat of the moment of the fight. Bobby's act wasn't, which is why he got disqualified. Johnny could have been in the heat of the moment, which is why he only got a warning. If he hit the knee again, he would have been disqualified.

Family Guy: Stewie Griffin The Untold Story (2005)
Question: When this came out on DVD, the box said it was uncut and uncensored. So why was all of the swearing censored?
Answer: There are two versions on the disc. From the main menu you can go to a sub menu that allows you to choose which one you watch.
How do I find it? I've been looking and can't see it anywhere.
The only thing it lets me choose is subtitles and different languages.
Have you looked in the Languages menu? It should let you select the uncensored English audio track.

Question: In the scene of Mother Gothel stabbing Eugene, is it possible for him to die that fast from that wound?
Answer: All she had to do was nick the right blood vessel, and he could have died much sooner. So, yes, it's possible for him to have died that fast. We have to assume the lack of blood was just Disney toning things down and not representative of the actual severity of the wound. If appearances counted for anything at all in the world of Disney, there'd be no such thing as a mortal wound.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011)
Question: Why was the design of Ghost Rider and the Hellcycle changed? Plus, in the first movie he had gained control of his transformation. So when he is trying to leave after interrogating a lowlife thug, does he look like he is unable to keep the Ghost Rider in check?
Answer: They were changed to look "grittier". It was just a stylistic choice though, it's not really related to the plot in any way. As for the second part, at the end of the first movie, he had a much greater degree of control over the Rider, but not absolute control. Being in such a sinful place to interrogate the "thug" strained his ability to resist the transformation.

Question: It is stated that once Vanellope crosses the finish line, she is no longer a glitch, but she still glitches even then since she retained that power. Also, she couldn't leave her game due to her glitching power. However, she is seen at Felix and Calhoun's wedding which means she is out of her game then. Was that possible then? If so, then how?
Answer: What Sour Bob says is that once Vanellope crosses the finish line the game will reset and King Kandy's damage to the game's code will be undone. After that happens Vanellope can still glitch because she learned to control it before crossing the finish line; it's no longer an involuntary side-effect of damaged code, it's something she just knows how to do. Likewise, her newly repaired code allows her to leave the game when she wishes.

Question: Right after WALL-E introduces himself to Mary and goes off to find EVE, Mary is surprised to find that the Axiom has a pool. First of all, how could she not have noticed that after living her whole life there? She must be at least 20 years old, and the pool, or Lido Deck, is obviously a very popular place for people to hang out at. And second, how does she even know what a pool is? If she's never been to Earth and she never knew the Axiom had a pool, then she's never been in one. And we can see that the captain is very uneducated about things on Earth. So how does Mary know what a pool is if she's never seen one before?

Question: How does the mob (from the past), know exactly when a Looper has let his target run? A Looper wouldn't turn himself in, so how does the mob know almost instantly when a target hasn't been killed?
Answer: If you watch the movie he only saves half the bars. you see there are 4 bars on the body, but he only turns in 2.
Answer: But Joe doesn't cash in, he stacks up all his money.

Question: During the Tango de Roxanne scene, it seems that there is a lot of tension between Nini and the Argentinean. Also, when he yells at Christian for falling in love with Satine, it is almost as if he is speaking from experience. Is this because he is actually in love with Nini or is it just a part of the song itself?
