Corrected entry: Julia dies in the underwater escape trick tank because the axe couldn't get her out in time. However, if she was able to open the lid from inside the tank, get up, over, and down, then close the lid (all quickly, silently, and without assistance) when the trick goes properly, then there is no reason that the four men standing around could not have simply lifted the lid, either acting a key in the fake padlock to preserve the trick, or using a key if it's real. At this point she could have gotten her head above water and draped her hands over the side of the tank to stay up. That done, the crisis is over, and she must only wait to calm down enough to get herself down, or be assisted. Cutter built the tank, so he knew how strong the glass was. The only explanation for using the axe was to allow Julia's death, thus advancing the plot.

Corrected entry: Even when not referring to his own emotions, The Collector can't say the word "love" when he is trying to seduce Jeryline at the end. He tries very hard to say it, but is simply incapable of using the word. Earlier, when The Collector was tempting Cordelia, he used the word several times without issue.
Correction: He's more than capable of saying the word. He is simply having fun and toying with Jeryline at the end. Since he has the key and thinks he's about to undo creation he can afford to take his time. When talking to Cordelia, he is using the word to play on her emotions and 'sell' her on the idea of getting what's she's missing out, which is why he used the word. Also, you may not have noticed that he used the word love a moment earlier when he said to Jeryline "I know my folks are gonna love you."

Grey's Anatomy (2005)
Corrected entry: Izzie tells the patient's mother if she doesn't want to be late for her 6:00pm job she needed to leave immediately as it is a 3 hour drive, when it is actually less than half that: 88 miles - 1 hour 20 minutes. There is only one route from Seattle to Chehalis, Interstate 5. The vast majority of the drive has speed limit of 65-70 MPH and at 3:00pm (or earlier) traffic will not be an issue.
Correction: Anybody that knows the area realises if you leave at 3 on a weekday, it will take 3 hours to go from Seattle to Chehalis. Google maps estimates anywhere from 2h to 3h 20m at that time of day, longer on a Friday, and she wouldn't want to take a chance on traffic being good, leave at 4, then be over an hour late for work.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (2016)
Corrected entry: On a certain date in 2016, Jake enters Peregrine's Loop on September 3rd, 1943 where her children relive the same day over and over and all non-peculiars are completely unaware of the Loop. When the Loop closes and it becomes September 4th, 1943, the children, without re-entering 2016, travel by steamliner to London and enter a Loop set in a date six months prior to the date from which Jake entered Peregrine's 1943 Loop. The trouble is, this Loop did not exist in 1943, so it should have been inaccessible to the children.
Correction: The loops are accessible to any peculiars if it has been made. It doesn't matter the time period they enter it from.

Moana (2016)
Corrected entry: TeKa, the lava demon, is actually TeFiti and didn't exist until Maui stole TeFiti's heart. But every character seem aware of TeKa as being a separate being who has existed for as long as all the other demons/gods/demigods/titans.
Correction: In the opening explanation, they use the wording "TeKa Awoke" which implies that TeKa and TeFiti are, indeed, one and the same-and that TeFiti and TeKa have existed simultaneously/within each other for as long as they have been around, but with her heart TeFiti remains dominant and TeKa dormant. This accounts for the pre-knowledge of TeKa (and, indeed, TeFiti being dominant for such a long time explains why knowledge of her and TeKa being the same isn't widespread among the demigods/et al).

Corrected entry: TeKa is revealed to be TeFiti. The space where she slept as an island is a huge pit in the ocean. TeKa can't touch the water, but somehow managed to travel from her resting place to the barrier islands surrounding it where she's been trapped for 1,000 years.
Correction: When TeKa transformed back into TeFiti, she did it slowly. It's possible the original transformation was slow enough that TeFiti got to the barrier island before transforming into TeKa. The ocean could also have split like it did, allowing TeKa to attempt to catch Maui before he got away.

Hotel Transylvania (2012)
Corrected entry: Mavis knows her parents met in Hawaii because she found her father's souvenir postcard. Mavis is 118, which means her parents met in the 1890's at the latest. There were no postcards like that for Hawaii in the 1890's.
Correction: There's no reason to think this. The US was first introduced to postcards in 1873 (although they were invented in 1840) and the first "souvenir" postcards were sold in 1893 (before Mavis was born). By 1898, over 200 companies were selling Hawaii postcards, so obviously there was a market for them and no reason to think local businesses couldn't create said postcard.

Corrected entry: There were 13 barrels, one for each dwarf. Bilbo had to hang from the side of a barrel because there wasn't one for him to ride in. But after Bombur's barrel broke, he was able to jump into an empty barrel floating along with all the others.

Corrected entry: The machines which allow individuals to dream the same lucid dream are equipped with timers which wake the dreamers after a predetermined amount time without them having to receive a physical kick. So all the drama in the hotel and in the van about how to make the kicks happen was entirely superfluous since the dream machines they were hooked up to could have simply woken them at a predetermined time without needing to blow anything up, or crash any vehicles into any rivers.
Correction: It's stated that the passage of time in each level is compounded exponentially the further in the dream levels you go. For example, one week in the first level is equal to 6 months in the second level is equal to 10 years in the third level. Without being sure how long was needed at each level, a timer could wake them too early, ruining the mission. The kicks could simply be so that the people in the deeper levels don't have to endure long passages of time before finally waking up.

Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)
Corrected entry: Spock announces that the Enterprise's gravity systems are failing and, from that point on,"down" is no longer towards the bottom of the ship, but is instead towards whichever side of the Enterprise happens to be nearest to Earth as the ship spins out of control. This would make sense except that the ship is in freefall and therefore everything on it should not be experiencing any gravity at all. A correction for a similar mistake supposes that the shifts in gravity are due to fluctuations caused by the malfunctioning gravity systems as they attempt to come back online. The main problem with this excuse is that, if the gravity systems are attempting to restart, then there must be intervals between each attempt wherein they are NOT started - moments where they are offline during which there should be no gravity aboard the Enterprise. These moments never occur, and so the gravity systems cannot be attempting to restart. They are simply down, and the inevitable result of such a situation was misrepresented in the film to increase the tension for the audience. (01:41:15)
Correction: You are assuming that any malfunction of the Enterprise's gravitational systems must necessarily involve moments, however brief, when these gravitational systems are entirely offline, and therefore the crew and contents of the ship should be seen floating in freefall. There is no evidence in the movie (or in the other corrected entry referring to the ship's gravitational fluctuations, that you mention in your submission) that this has occurred, or that it must occur, as you assume. Why can't the problem be exactly what we see in the film - that the ship's gravity is experiencing serious fluctuations in direction and strength, as the ship's power weakens and has to be diverted among several critical systems?

Corrected entry: At the end Coraline is passing out glasses of lemonade from a tray. There are two glasses left when she presents Mr. Bobinsky with the tray. He takes one, leaving one. But when Coraline turns around to greet Wybie's grandmother there are two glasses on the tray again.
Correction: Actually, as she's talking with Mr. Bobinsky before he takes a glass, you can see the straw of a third glass; it's just mostly obscured by her body due to the angle of the shot.

Corrected entry: When Kevin Bacon is buying the guns from John Goodman, he lays his red backpack containing his money on the counter. Bacon throws some money on the counter and, after receiving the weapons, walks away. When Goodman scoops up the money we can see Bacon's backpack still on the counter, but in the very next shot Bacon is several yards away with the backpack in his hands.
Correction: John Goodman packs up the guns in a black sack like bag and Kevin Bacon walks out with the guns only carrying that black sack. He never takes the red backpack.

Casino Royale (2006)
Corrected entry: When Vesper lowers herself into the water while inside the elevator, the elevator car's "roof" is shown. As the car falls, the roof lifts completely away from the rest of the car, which would allow Bond quick and easy access. There are also many gaps in the bars and wire mesh that make up the elevator shaft that are large enough to easily allow both Bond and Vesper to pass through simultaneously. There's no reason Bond should have followed Vesper down from outside the shaft and attempted to break the elevator door open - he could have got to her from above, quickly and easily, whether she wanted him to or not. Correction: The roof does not lift completely off - the roof structure is clearly still in place after the lift goes into the water. One side can be seen to flap upwards (although not come off) as it goes down the shaft, but the image is not clear enough to show what might be underneath - given the need to stand on the roof for maintenance on occasion, there is likely to be a strong support structure underneath that could easily block access. Bond's decision to attempt to gain access through the comparatively weak door structure makes good sense.

Correction: You can imagine a number of things. First of all, even if they were able to unlock the lid how would they get it open? You need to get high enough to be able to open it, can't do that hanging from the side of the case. She is lifted into it by chains so there is no ladder to get up there easily. It's also possible only she can open the lid from the inside. Secondly I'm sure the idea is they had tested the glass and found an axe to be sufficient to break it in time. The problem for her of course is that she is under for a minute before anyone realise there is something wrong and she hasn't got the ability to get her head above the water since her hands are tied, there is also nothing to hold on to. You can see Angiers being indecisive about what to do, he is putting most faith on Cutter breaking the glass in time. They are all basically stunned from what is happening.
