Continuity mistake: When Marik asks Bakura how strong his duelling skills are, Bakura replies, "They're extremely strong." At this moment, Marik has his Millennium Rod raised. When the shot cuts, it is lowered.(00:10:21)
Continuity mistake: When Joey activates Energy Drain, his right hand is touching his duel disk. When the shot cuts, his right arm is extended, presumably away from the duel disk.(00:06:03)
Other mistake: When Mako has his Amphibian Beast attack Joey's Alligator Sword, Joey activates Skull Dice, dividing Amphibian Beast attack points by four (from 2600 to 650). The attack then results in this monster being destroyed, because it was weaker than Alligator Sword, and Mako loses 700 life points because of it. However, Alligator Sword had 1500 attack points, meaning Mako should have lost 850 life points, due to there being an 850 point difference between the two monsters, and not 700 life points.(00:19:10)
Other mistake: When Joey summons Alligator Sword, the bottom half of its face is coloured green. The card illustration for the Alligator Sword monster shows the bottom half of its face to be coloured yellow, while the top half is green.(00:17:50)
Other mistake: When Mako has Flying Fish attack Joey directly, the trap card Torrential Tribute, which Mako had activated earlier, can be seen on his duel disk instead of the monster card Flying Fish.(00:16:35)
Revealing mistake: When Joey summons Garoozis, Mako says, "Nice try," and activates his face-down card, Torrential Tribute. Right before the face-down card is revealed, the cards he is holding in his hand can be seen, and they are all missing the illustrations.(00:14:12)
Character mistake: On Mako's second turn, he says, "I'll place a monster face down as well," but then he is shown placing a spell/trap card face down instead of a monster card.(00:13:47)
Stupidity: When Kaiba attacks the hunters with Obelisk the Tormentor and destroys their two face-down monsters, the tall hunter activates his face-down card Mirror Force, a trap card that can destroy any attack position monster on the opponent's side of the field during an attack (before finding out the trap card won't work with this monster). Technically, the hunter could've activated this card before their two face-down monster cards were destroyed instead of after.(00:06:17)
Other mistake: When Kaiba has summoned Obelisk the Tormentor, a spell card can be seen on the short hunter's duel disk, but it is placed in the monster zone of the duel disk and not in the spell and trap card zone.(00:05:51)
Continuity mistake: On the short hunter's first turn, he sets a monster face down in defence position, and on the tall hunter's first turn, he also sets a monster face down in defence position. When Kaiba summons Obelisk the Tormentor, there is a shot from above the hunters, and the monsters they set face down are now face up on their duel disks.(00:04:12 - 00:05:51)
Other mistake: During the duel with Marik's hunters, in the shot where Kaiba says "I hope you realise this is just the beginning of what my deck has in store for you", the spell card Pot of Greed can be seen in the monster zone on Kaiba's duel disk. First, Kaiba already activated this card so it should be in his graveyard. Second, since this card is a spell card, it should be in his spell and trap card zone and not his monster zone.(00:04:00)
Continuity mistake: When Yugi wins the duel, there is a shot where Kaiba and Mokuba can be seen in the background. A briefcase can be seen next to Mokuba, but when it cuts to a closer angle of the two, it has changed position.(00:15:29)
Continuity mistake: In the previous episode, when Yugi realised that Buster Blader was one of the cards in his hand, Dark Magician was also one of the cards shown in his hand. In this episode, the Dark Magician card is never seen again.
Continuity mistake: When Yugi's life points go down to 3100 after Slifer the Sky Dragon destroys Buster Blader, his Kuriboh card is face down on his duel disk, even though it was face up when he summoned it earlier. Seconds after this happens, his Kuriboh card is suddenly face up on his duel disk.(00:14:19)
Other mistake: Marik summons Slifer the Sky Dragon, which is featured on his side of the field for the entirety of the episode, but whenever his duel disk is shown, the Slifer the Sky Dragon card cannot be seen on it. Instead, there is just a spell card, which shouldn't be there, because spell cards are inserted into slots on the duel disk and are not placed in the monster card zone.
Continuity mistake: When Yugi summons Kuriboh in defence mode, Kuriboh appears on the duel field, levitating a few inches above the Kuriboh card. In the next shot, Kuriboh is levitating several feet above the Kuriboh card.(00:09:05)
Other mistake: When Marik activates the spell card Pot of Greed, in the shot of him inserting the card into the spell/trap card slot, another version of the card can be seen in the monster card zone on his duel disk, even though it shouldn't be there.(00:06:30)
Other mistake: When Yugi summons Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts, the attack and defence points display shows it to have 2100 defence points. This monster only has 1200 defence points, as shown on the card when Yugi summoned it.(00:10:55)
Continuity mistake: During the flashback of Yugi building the Millennium Puzzle, in the establishing shot, Yugi has his left hand on the back of the puzzle. But in a close-up of the puzzle, his left hand is across the side of it.(00:04:43)
