Continuity mistake: After Lydia cleans off the coffee table when she returns and sits down there are only two boxes and a bowl on the coffee table. When Melanie brings Cathy back from the bathroom there are more than three items, such as an ashtray, on the table and Mitch and Lydia haven't moved from their seats. (01:39:20)

Continuity mistake: After Lydia gets off the phone the wires of the light fixture hanging over the dining room table are pushed around to the sides of the bulb so you can barely see them. In the next shot it's been rotated and you can see them very well. (00:35:25)

Continuity mistake: In the wide shot of the party scene as everyone is running into the house a girl in a bright red sweater and white skirt pulls her mother in the blue dress by the hand. In the next shot they've changed positions and are together with the mother's arm around the girl's back. (00:53:00)

Continuity mistake: As the store manager takes Melanie outside to look at Mitch's house, the dog license sign on the window of the door is reversed from when Melanie walked up. (00:13:05)

Continuity mistake: The orange car that catches fire, when the guy throws the match, moves between shots. When he lights up the cigarette there's a white parking line to left of the tire. In the previous shot it wasn't there. (01:25:15)

Continuity mistake: The last piece of wood that Melanie hands to Mitch is not the same one that he grabs. The end is split and doesn't have a prominent knot in it but when Mitch grabs it there's no split and it has a large knot in it. (01:34:20)

Continuity mistake: The body of the gas station attendant moves to the left between shots, as Mitch runs to help him, and Mitch's position changes after he runs to help. (01:24:55)

Continuity mistake: As the birds gather on the monkey bars behind Melanie she looks to her right and straight up and sees one lone bird flying past a television antenna. This is incorrect because first of all she's looking up to high and second we've seen in that direction and there is no house there, just a hill. The house is across the street. Continuity mistake: The wood on the ladder changes between shots. First it's unstained, then it stained green and then it's unstained as she gets to the bottom. (00:20:05)

Continuity mistake: The lamp directly behind Melanie as she sits down is turned off. In the next shot when Annie brings in the brandy it's turned on. (00:41:25)

Continuity mistake: As Melanie walks around with her flashlight she goes into the kitchen and looks at the lovebirds. This cage has 11 rungs on the side and is not the same one that she walked into the house with when she brought the lovebirds up from San Francisco, which had 19 rungs. (01:46:15)

Continuity mistake: As Melanie is inside of the phone booth a man with birds attacking him runs up to her and there is a clear shot of the road extending past the restaurant. When this spot is seen earlier as Mitch and Melanie walk into the restaurant it's entirely different with a bunch of telephone poles on the left. (01:27:25)

Continuity mistake: As Melanie runs inside the phone booth a black device has appeared above the telephone. In a previous shot as Mitch runs to help the gas station attendant we see inside the phone booth and that device is not there. (01:26:15)

Continuity mistake: When Mitch puts the mirror up against the front door the light fixture above his head goes from being perfectly still to swaying wildly between shots and he didn't touch it. (01:43:35)

Continuity mistake: As Mitch lifts Annie's body to take her inside the house two black rags or shreds of her clothing appear on the porch that weren't there in a previous shot. (01:31:45)

Continuity mistake: In the shot of the party looking down from the top of the hill the barbecue is sitting behind and to the middle of two lounge chairs. In the next shot the barbecue is to the left of the two lounge chairs. At the end of the scene it's moved back. (00:51:35)
