Corrected entry: Near the end, when Needles challenges Marty to a street race, the smartest thing for Marty to have done was nothing. By speeding away in reverse, he could have just as easily hit another car behind him, with the subsequent chain of events leading, more or less, to the future that Jennifer witnessed in 2015.

Cubs Fan

Correction: Well, Marty didn't know about that future anyway, as Jennifer never told him she found out what caused his failure. Him reversing is a lot more like a definite change in character for Marty, rather than an attempt to change the future. That's what the scene was about. Next to that, he quickly spins the car around without coming to any intersection, so no immediate danger of running into someone.

Man of Steel (2013)

Correction: When does Zod say this line in the 1978 "Superman" movie? The closest he gets is "you will bow down before me, Jor-El." Of the four live action films Zod is in, he says this line in only "Superman II."

Bishop73

Corrected entry: The joke of Geordi's that Data laughs at, which is established as having been told at some point in "Encounter at Farpoint", mentions the Ferengi, but first contact with that race didn't occur until "The Last Outpost," three episodes later.

Cubs Fan

Correction: That was the first time they had direct contact with them, but they were aware of their existence. They are referenced by name in "Encounter at Farpoint."

Star Wars (1977)

Corrected entry: In the Judland Wastes, right before Obi-Wan first appears, Luke is alerted to the presence of what turns out to be Tusken Raiders nearby and goes to investigate, instead of simply leaving with R2 and 3PO.

Cubs Fan

Correction: Luke has an insatiable appetite for adventure, it is well within his behavior to investigate the Sand People; he even took a rifle with him suggesting he was expecting to engage with them.

Air Force One (1997)

Corrected entry: In his first conversation with VP Bennett, Ivan says that he now controls Air Force One. But since "Air Force One" is a call sign and not a specific plane, it only applies when the president is on board, which, at this point, isn't technically the case, because he and his men (and by extension, we the audience) all assume that Marshall fled in the plane's escape pod.

Cubs Fan

Correction: It may technically not be an accurate term given the situation, but they are not professional US military and it would be reasonable that the plane the president flies on would still be referred to as Air Force One even if the president was (believed) no longer on board instead of switching to calling it SAM 28000 or 29000 (depending on which was in use). It would be like seeing the plane on the tarmac at Andrews and saying "that's Air Force One" even though the president isn't on board.

The Most Toys - S3-E22

Corrected entry: When Geordi, Picard, and Riker are discussing Data's shuttle accident in Picard's ready room, Picard addresses Geordi as "Lieutenant." In the American navy (which Starfleet is adapted from), a Lieutenant Commander like Geordi is addressed as "Commander", as it is higher in rank than a regular Lieutenant.

Cubs Fan

Correction: This "mistake" occurs several times in the series and can be easily explained by the fact that Starfleet is not the current, modern military. The series takes place hundreds of years in the future in a completely different organization than any military currently on Earth. Apparently in Starfleet it is acceptable to use either Commander or Lieutenant when referring to a Lieutenant Commander.

BaconIsMyBFF

Corrected entry: The fact that Bo Gentry can't hit a curveball shouldn't automatically qualify him as a poor draft selection, as it's implied near film's end. His ability to recognize and hit curves would improve with the experience and training he would acquire in the minor leagues, particularly if working consistently with a hitting coach; it's literally in their job title to coach players who need help with their batting output.

Cubs Fan

Correction: The ending doesn't imply that Bo is a poor draft selection because he can't hit a curveball. The ending shows that Bo can't handle quality pitching at all. He can't connect with any of Rigo's fastballs either. Gus and Mickey could tell that Bo was not a good hitter and only seemed like he was because he wasn't playing against anyone as good as Rigo. The fact that he had trouble with the curveball at his level was the clue that tipped Gus off that his numbers were inflated. Bo isn't worth any major league pitching coach's time because there are far better prospects out there.

Castle (2009)

Much Ado About Murder - S8-E20

Corrected entry: After learning it's her turn to plan date night with Castle, Beckett confides to Ryan that she's drawing a blank as to outdo what Castle planned the last time and needs help brainstorming ideas. As an intelligent woman who knows Castle as well as she does, and considering that in season five's "The Lives of Others", she came up with, planned out, and executed an elaborate "murder mystery" for him to solve, planning something just as big and embellished, even off the cuff, shouldn't be as difficult for her as it's presented to be.

Cubs Fan

Correction: Or maybe what she meant was that she was conflicted on how to outdo that stage. She's not stupid.

Charmed (1998)

Scry Hard - S7-E17

Corrected entry: Piper and Leo both make comments about Leo's inability to self-heal now that he's a mortal. But in previous episodes, it's mentioned that Leo wasn't allowed to use his powers to heal himself.

Cubs Fan

Correction: Leo was a white-lighter before and he wasn't able to heal himself when he was hit by a dark-lighter's arrow. However, injuries such as stab wounds would heal as seen in "Saving Private Leo."

Supergirl (2015)

Correction: Magnetic clip-on earrings exist, and can make the sort of dents in her ears which these seem to, due to the strength of magnet involved. Adult Kara also has the same earrings, as seen in the "previously on..." segment.

Bete Noire - S1-E16

Corrected entry: When Kate pretends to be Abby, trying to trick Ari, he deduces that she's not upon seeing her gun in its holster, and doesn't pick up on the more blatantly obvious fact that her manner of dress doesn't match Ducky's description of Abby as a Goth.

Cubs Fan

Correction: Ari doesn't see Kate until he looks and sees the gun. So he can't tell just by her voice.

The Three Stooges (2012)

Corrected entry: When Moe throws the octopus at Larry at Teddy and Lydia's anniversary party, Larry ducks and it hits someone standing off to his side. But based on the directionality of Moe's throw, it should have hit the couple directly behind him.

Cubs Fan

Correction: Moe simply had an errant throw and wouldn't have hit Larry, even if he didn't duck.

Get Smart (2008)

Corrected entry: When Max leaves CONTROL after learning he won't be promoted to field agent, he is wearing a gray suit. Outside the pet store, his suit becomes blue.

Cubs Fan

Correction: His suit is never blue. He's just standing in the shadows so it looks darker. You can see he's still wearing the same grey suit when he bumps into 99.

Bishop73

Correction: How is this a mistake? Since we know nothing about the futuristic material used, there's no reason it couldn't look like metal but move like leather.

Castle (2009)

Correction: She was frustrated with the case so of course she wouldn't keep quiet about it and besides, Ryan mentioned that he was talking about a case with his future wife Jenny in "Till Death Do Us Part" and nobody blinked an eye; apparently that was okay. Also Beckett has discussed cases with suspects before so it's not like this was a first for her.

Castle (2009)

A Deadly Affair - S3-E1

Corrected entry: When Beckett, Castle, and Ryan are discussing the anonymous bank deposits made to the victims, as Ryan is saying "there's no way to trace the payments...", Stana Katic tries to covertly hide a snickering smile. A longer version of the scene had a shot of Castle staring at Beckett while she's bent over writing on the board, she notices and that's what she's smiling at, but without that shot the smile makes no sense. (00:25:55)

Cubs Fan

Correction: She was laughing at Ryan trying to push Castle off the desk. They were still mad at Castle for not calling them and Ryan was expressing that in an immature way. Beckett on the other hand has been known to laugh at these kinds of moments since she is somewhat childish, or at least has a good sense of humor, so that snicker does make sense; she's just reacting to the situation.

Charmed (1998)

From Fear to Eternity - S1-E13

Corrected entry: It is established that Barbas can only appear every 1300 years for 24 hours, but because he became such a popular character, he reappeared in five subsequent episodes, the majority of which took place within a year of each other.

Cubs Fan

Correction: In the first episode with Barbas he was freed from the curse that only allowed him to appear every 1300 years, which is why he was able to show up frequently afterwards.

Correction: Given how things ended with Priya and Leonard, it probably would have been very awkward for both of them. In addition, she knows far more about Indian law than American law.

Greg Dwyer

It is noted (by Leonard) in a previous episode that Priya is qualified to practice law "in three countries, and your face!" Presumably, as she is there for some time, works for a law firm, etc, one of those three countries is the US.

Star Trek (1966)

The Menagerie (2) - S1-E13

Corrected entry: When Spock takes Captain Pike out of the briefing room, Pike appears, via the viewscreen, on Talos IV in the very next shot. There is no possible way Spock could have gotten Pike to the transporter room that fast.

Cubs Fan

Correction: Not a mistake. Pike's appearance on the screen is of his younger, uninjured self - obviously one of the Talosians' illusions. So they "jumped the gun" a bit by showing him on the planet before his actual arrival, but this image is only for illustration to the people viewing, so it doesn't matter.

The Mummy Returns (2001)

Corrected entry: When Lock-Nah discovers Alex building one of his clues for Rick and Evey in the sand, his mouth isn't in sync with the words when he says "Leaving breadcrumbs, are we?"

Cubs Fan

Correction: That's because his teeth are clenched, meaning that your lips don't need to move a lot. Look carefully and you can see his lips moving just a little bit.
