Die Hard (1988)

Trivia: All the terrorists are wearing the same make of watch, a fact that was cut from the movie. On leaving the truck at the start they synchronised them, and after killing some of the men, McClane noticed the matching watches. This is primarily what gave away "Bill Clay" as being a terrorist - McClane, already suspicious, noticed the brand of watch he was wearing. These references were cut because of a change to the script. The ambulance being used at the end was a late addition, however the synchronisation scene took place in the truck, where there was blatantly no ambulance (as noted in the mistake section). As such they cut that shot as short as possible, banking on audiences not registering the lack of ambulance, but the price was having to lose all reference to the watches.

Pio ke kukui, po'ele ka hale - S9-E10

Continuity mistake: Before the gunfight, Joe tells Steve not to wait too long to find someone. There's a shot of the boards over the window beside him, and they're fully intact. Seconds later, when he says "no visual", well before the gunfire actually starts, they're suddenly riddled with bullet holes.

Continuity mistake: The outside of Hank's lab changes in different shots - sometimes there's a "no entry" sign inside a window on the right, other times it's missing. When Scott and Hope arrive there's a red logo on the door which is missing later. And when the ghost exits there's a "private property" notice beside the door which isn't there at other times.

Continuity mistake: As the ghost attacks Wasp in the hotel lobby, there's a guy unconscious in front of the piano who's there in some shots and missing in others.

Continuity mistake: When the shrunken car is surrounded by pigeons, it's an all-glass roof, or black. When the shrunken car drives through a pipe later, its roof is silver. It changes back and forth again, just before/after Hank shrinks it.

Continuity mistake: At the start when Hope is playing in her room, in a wide shot there's a wooden stand with a plant on it by the teddy bear in the background. In a closeup of her this stand has vanished.

Deadpool 2 (2018)

Deadpool 2 mistake picture

Continuity mistake: In the final fight, Deadpool says to Cable "did you feel that too?" and there's no-one behind them at all. Cable moves forwards to kill a guy on the ground, and a fraction of a second later, as Deadpool says "only best buddies execute paedophiles together" an orderly has appeared in the background, who gets shot.

Constantine (2014)

The Darkness Beneath - S1-E2

Factual error: Constantine's driving licence is shown - it's a UK licence, but no. 7 where his signature should be is blank, and no. 8 where his full address should be simply says "England, United Kingdom." Both are printed onto the licence when it's issued - without that info it would never be issued in the first place. And it's not a fake, because why would he have a fake licence with his real information on it? It's just an incomplete prop.

The Book of Blood: Chapter Two: The Perdi - S2-E6

Plot hole: When announcing the 14 deaths, they make a generic statement to the friends and family of everyone in the pods, without first telling the affected families directly?! There's no way this would be dealt with like that - not least as they all then seem shocked that the parents start a riot/panic about whether their children are dead or not. Anyone with half a brain cell would have seen that coming a mile off. Not to mention that later on we discover one of the parents STILL hasn't been told if his daughter's alive or not. If this was a coverup or otherwise secret they wouldn't have said anything - there's no reason to announce the deaths but not clarify who died.

Den of Thieves (2018)

Other mistake: At the gun range, Merrimen is shooting very rapidly, heard by Nick and seen by us at times. Two problems with the scene - Merrimen fires in 6 clusters - 5 shots, then 9, 8, 8, 8, and 9 again. But he reloads between each cluster, and we see his slide lock back after the 8th shot at times, so how's he getting 9 rounds off sometimes? Plus we see the target he was shooting, with a close group dead center, but there aren't 47 bullet holes, nor larger holes where two bullets hit close together.

Common mistakes

Stupidity: Highly trained military/police officers/similar in cover during a gunfight who stand up or run out into the middle of the street to shoot at their targets. Also including SWAT teams, supposedly the best of the best, who are bumbling incompetents and get wiped out near-instantly.

Den of Thieves (2018)

Question: Early on we see the crooks put wet cash in a microwave, presumably to dry it. Would that work? I just assume you'd end up with hot wet cash - I would have thought an oven or hairdryer or something would be a better bet.

Jon Sandys

Answer: Considering how microwave ovens work, it seems it would. Microwaves work by bombarding whatever is inside with actual 'microwaves' which works to excite the water molecules within. Paper, and in the case of cash, cotton, wouldn't be affected on its own but the water inside would be. Ever had something wrapped in a paper towel when you microwave it? The cash is not metal, and the water content is what gets heated up inside and evaporated, so I believe it would work.

Quantom X

Answer: There are videos of people drying money in microwaves, but it was a single layer of bills. But it can be tricky because, like wet clothes, it can catch on fire in the microwave if let in too long.

Daredevil (2015)

Reunion - S3-E11

Question: The burial vault which Matt and Karen hide in has the name "Edmond Cleary Cass" on the front of it, shown pretty. Does that name have any significance to the show or Marvel?

Jon Sandys

Chosen answer: After some research, I can say that no, Cass is not a character of Marvel, nor is he present in the Netflix show. As far as I can tell, it's either a real person, or a random name chosen for the coffin, most likely the former. In another season of Daredevil, the show utilized a real cemetery displaying real names in the tombstones.

Answer: I did a little research too. Interestingly enough I found a Friar named "Edmund Cass" who as far as I could tell is still alive and well. I wonder if that was just a coincidence.

The Simpsons (1989)

18th Oct 2018

Common mistakes

Factual error: Someone gets punched in the face or otherwise knocked out and comes around hours later, then goes on to pick up where they left off as best as possible and forget the incident in about 30 seconds. If you've been unconscious for hours you've got a traumatic brain injury and need medical attention, you won't be hunting down your assailant any time soon.

Common mistakes

Stupidity: One character holding another at gunpoint but right next to them, making it easy for the victim to knock the gun away or similarly fight back. You've got a gun - stand 10 feet from them.
