Episode #7.5 - S7-E5
Trivia: The Matron is called Fletcher. Louise Fletcher played the chief nurse (and a similar character) in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest."
Trivia: The fuel station features metal miniblinds in several scenes. These did not become available until the early 1940s and would aluminium be diverted from airplane production to blinds?
Trivia: Anthony Andrews was the first choice for the role of Remington Steele, but he turned it down.
Trivia: Its teaser trailers are, for the most part, out-take footage that doesn't actually appear in the episodes. For example, in the scene in which ShadowMoon and Mr. Wednesday first meet aboard the airliner, the teaser trailer uses completely different camera shots and different performances from the actors. In the actual episode, the camera shots and performances for the same scene are noticeably different.
The Crab with the Golden Claws: Part 1 - S1-E1
Trivia: When Kuraki attempts to put the letter in Tintin's mail box before getting ambushed, the mailbox next to Tintin's is labelled Herge, the creator of Tintin. (00:05:40)
Trivia: Lorraine Toussaint is only 9 years older than Morris Chestnut, who plays her son.
Trivia: This show pays many homages to the 1968 film Bullitt which was also set in San Francisco. Firstly officer Rebecca Madsen's car is the exact same make, colour, and model Mustang that Steve McQueen drove in Bullitt. Also the final episode (Tommy Madsen) features a car chase which recreates many shots from the 1968 film. It even includes the green Beetle Volkswagen coming down the hill as seen in the movie.
Trivia: A sequel to the original film, titled "The Power of the Dark Crystal," was initially planned. However, the film spent many years in development hell with several different writers and directors being attached at different points. Eventually, French director Louis Letterier became attached to the project around 2012, and it was subsequently retooled into this prequel series for Netflix. "The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance" was finally released in the Summer of 2019 - almost 37 years after the original debuted in Winter, 1982.
Trivia: R.D. Wingfield, author of the book "Frost" on which the series is based, hated the show.
Trivia: Lara Parker, who plays Madelaine the witch in this episode, also played Angelique, the witch in the TV series, "Dark Shadows."
Trivia: The character of Dani Clayton is named after Jack Clayton, who directed "The Innocents." "The Innocents" is the film adaptation of the stage version of Henry James' "The Turn of the Screw." (Source: ScreenRant).
Trivia: In this episode, the murder victim's name is given as Reiko Hashimoto, and at one point, Gannon shows Friday a couple of photographs of her. Reiko Hashimoto was the maiden name of Reiko Douglas, the wife of comedy writer, author, and perennial talk show guest Jack Douglas, and the photographs used are of her.
Trivia: At the beginning of this episode, after the Crypt Keeper causes the mirror to break, he mentions that he just bought seven years of bad luck. This show lasted for seven years.
Trivia: Instead of the Royal Air Force, the series has a fictitious British Air Force with largely invented insignia. Ranks are taken from the RAF, but sometimes different rank insignia is worn (e.g. an air vice-marshal wearing air marshal's insignia and a flight lieutenant wearing flying officer's insignia, although another flight lieutenant wears correct insignia).
Trivia: On a board at a spaceport there are arrivals shown. One of the ships is the UNN Dorie Miller. The U.S. Navy named an aircraft carrier after Doris "Dorie" Miller, a Black mess attendant who heroically leapt into combat during Pearl Harbor. This was the first time an aircraft carrier was named for an African American, and the first time a sailor has been so honored for actions taken as an enlisted man. For his bravery, Miller was awarded the Navy Cross. A fitting tribute to Black History Month. (00:37:55)
A Knight In Shining Armor - S1-E1
Trivia: When the bad guys first enter Graiman's garage, the original Firebird KITT can be seen from the original series.
Trivia: Except for the first episode, where Laura drinks a glass of wine in 2 gulps, she never takes a sip of her drinks - wine, apple juice, nothing - except for tea. She pretends to drink, but doesn't succeed.
The Hustlers News of the Day - S3-E5
Trivia: In some versions of this episode the name of the newspaper the grifters con has been rather clumsily dubbed over as "The Weekend World" rather than the original "The Sunday World", which is a real newspaper.
Trivia: While Camille is in severe distress back at Crellin Manor, a pensive Willis examines the interior of the sensor bar, trusting his subconscious to sense a clue. One of the things his eyes pass over is a bumper sticker with two American flags, originally stuck to the underside of the moveable piece of the bar top. Thus, the flags on the sticker are upside down, a sign for distress.
