Factual error: Radio talk show host David Campbell works at "WRQE 480 AM." There is no such frequency. The AM radio dial begins at 530.
Factual error: This episode involves the murder of Bobby Moore, a program host at Atlanta radio station 98.6 WBW. In the United States, all FM stations end with an odd number.
Continuity mistake: Michelle Thomas, Ben Matlock's assistant, has been abducted and is being kept in the home of mobster Jay Cutler. Ben attempts to scale the wall surrounding the property. A close-up shows him with both arms resting atop the wall. In the very next shot, his arms are extended, his right leg is over the wall and he is raising his left leg.
Continuity mistake: Matlock is inside a jail cell, speaking to a man who has been accused of murder. In an outdoor scene, someone throws a raw egg at the window as Matlock looks out. Inside the cell, as Matlock turns away from the window, the splattered egg has vanished.
Santa Claus - S1-E12
Visible crew/equipment: When Mark Harris shows Matlock into his office, the actors' T-marks can be seen on the floor under the chair.
Continuity mistake: Julia's hands go from being on her accomplice/boyfriend's cheeks to around his neck, then back to his cheeks in one shot.
Revealing mistake: Ben Matlock is hosting a pre-wedding party for his goddaughter. Several cars are parked on both sides of the street in front of Ben's house. Each time the front door is opened, The View seen from inside the house looking out is the same matte painting used in every episode. It shows a house and trees but no cars.
Factual error: This takes place in Atlanta, but in the scene where Tyler pulls up to Matlock and The Professor on the bench, there are California-style palm trees visible in the background. (00:18:35)
The Scandal - S9-E2
Character mistake: Billy has second thoughts about selling his late sister's beach house to a developer who plans to tear it down and build a hotel. Billy tells Ben, "She lived the last years of her life here." But in part 1 of this two-part episode, it was established that the woman had lived in the house for only six months.
The Singer - S7-E5
Character mistake: Near the end, Matlock says that he can prove who killed KC. The burden of proof lies with the prosecution; as a defense attorney, Matlock doesn't have to prove anything.
Answer: Leanne often went to the beach whenever she was upset about something. In this episode, Leanne realised that Kevin, the guy she had been seeing, had broken into her home and taken her diary in hopes of learning everything about her. This upset her because her privacy had been invaded and Kevin thought that the entries in her diary described the kind of man she was looking for. Ben drove down to the beach to comfort Leanne.
Only problem with that is that earlier in the episode LeeAnn went for a jog on the beach. She drives three hours to jog?
She didn't go for a jog. She went there because she was upset.
