A Deadly State of Mind - S4-E6
Trivia: Unusually enough for a television show devoted to a homicide detective and the way he unravels the plans of cunning murderers, the fact is that Columbo has nothing to do in this episode. Doctor Collier is seriously assaulted by Carl Donner who then goes on to violently attack his wife. Use of deadly force to prevent such an attack is allowed in the United States. Collier does not commit murder; he doesn't even commit a crime. You'd think such a hightly educated man would know enough to keep his head, call the police and explain what had happened. He wouldn't even be charged.

Trivia: It's in this episode that the Heimlich Maneuver is used for the first time by the paramedics. At the USC game, when a guy is choking on a hot dog, John and Roy are called, and John uses the Heimlich. Up until season 6 we've seen the guys use other methods, such as the ChokeSaver which look like huge white tweezers, to remove obstructions in an airway, as seen in 4x9, "Foreign Trade."

Trivia: Ted Cassidy, best known for his role as Lurch in the hit TV series "The Addams Family", did the opening narration for the show as well as the vocal effects for the Hulk. Sadly, Ted Cassidy died during production of Season 2. The Hulk's vocal effects were then done by actor Charles Napier for the rest of the show. Ted Cassidy's voice was still used for the opening narrations of all seasons.

Trivia: Although Len Cariou plays Tom Selleck's father, he's only five years older than Selleck.

Band Candy - S3-E6
Trivia: The accent that Giles uses as his teenage self is Anthony Head's natural accent.

Trivia: The flight attendant Monk drives crazy in 1-13 is played by his real-life wife. She also plays Sheriff Butterfield in "Monk visits a farm"and the crazy cat lady in 8-14.

Trivia: Ben Sullivan, Dr. Cox's best friend and brother-in-law, loves his camera and takes pictures everywhere he goes. Brendan Fraser, who plays Ben, has a great interest for photography in real life.

Trivia: Katie Holmes is the only actor/actress who appears in every episode

Goodbye (1) - S2-E4
Trivia: The first episode to air following John Ritter's death, it was filmed without a laugh track or live studio audience.

Trivia: Holly Marie Combs's real life pregnancy with her son Finley Arthur Donoho was mirrored by Piper's pregnancy with Chris in this season.

Trivia: The book that Sam reads is The Outsiders, Ralph Macchio starred in the film version.

Trivia: Mischa Barton also played the dead girl who threw up in The Sixth Sense.

Papa's Got a Brand-New Excuse - S4-E24
Trivia: At the end of the episode, as the camera zooms in on the statue on the table, Karyn Parsons can be heard crying backstage.

Trivia: Johnson's script originally featured an ending in which Jesse loses the game and yet finds himself still alive. Seeing this, Fats explains that he will die "as all second raters die: you'll be buried and forgotten without me touching you. If you'd beaten me, you'd have lived forever." This ending was eventually filmed when this episode was remade in 1989, during the first revival of The Twilight Zone.

Trivia: Throughout the show, the number 47 appears many times. There are multiple room 47's (where Syd found the Circumference in season 1 and the room in her memories from season 3, among others.), there are 47 Rambaldi artifacts, and Page 47 of the Rambaldi manuscript was the page that had Sydney's picture on it. Also the pagers flash 47911 when they get called into the office.
