Stupidity: Leia was carrying a handheld bomb. Yet she doesn't think to bring it with her later on while freeing Han.
Suggested correction: Novels from the Expanded Universe make it clear that with the exception of guards, nobody is allowed to carry weaponry in Jabba's Palace.
Stupidity: It is pretty silly for Martin Lawrence to go undercover as a police officer when it would make way more sense to go undercover as a janitor/custodian since his main goal is to gain access to the vent. A janitor would be a way less conspicuous disguise than a detective and slipping through a backdoor entrance disguised as a janitor should not be all that complicated for someone as savvy as Myles. But of course this would make a far less entertaining film.
Stupidity: When the crew go to New York they are in the back of a fish truck carrying fish. There's no need for them to do that. So long as the truck looks normal outside to keep their cover, they could have the inside kitted out any way they want. When they get to the fish factory they open up the warehouse in front of the workers to reveal the cars, so the workers are in on it being a front - it makes no sense to actually have fish in the back of the truck.
Stupidity: The fact that Nolte even gives in to Eddie's demands is ridiculous. Why not just interview him in prison, ask him where to look for certain people, etc, and if it's a dead end, report back and ask for further tips, etc. They had zero problem going to prison and asking Kirkland Smith in the sequel.
Suggested correction: He refused to tell him anything unless Kates takes him out of prison.
Stupidity: Jack has been using Mosley's badge and identification to pass himself off as FBI. He never once uses this trick to commandeer a civilian car for him and John when it would have been the safest way to get to L.A. much sooner.
Suggested correction: Probably because If he did that, the car's owner like Red the bar owner would eventually call the FBI office to get their car back and then the feds would know the make, model, license plate, and the last location of Walsh and the Duke. The police would have caught them in minutes. Walsh had to keep a low profile.
Stupidity: All the mutants on the island need Magneto at the last second to take control of the missiles so they don't land and explode. Why didn't Azazel just teleport everyone off the island?
Suggested correction: Given the situation, there was probably very little time to come up with a plan like this. The missiles were flying towards them extremely quickly, and there would have been nowhere near enough time to band every single person together for Azazel to teleport them all out of there in just a few seconds.
There was plenty of time. He could have taken 5 at a time down the Beach 3 miles and came back for the rest. Earlier in the movie he was moving so fast men were falling from the sky at nearly the same time and he was teleporting them one at a time.
Stupidity: Throughout the entire movie the police just don't seem to be doing their job. From the beginning they never taped off the RV as a possible crime scene, for 4 days every night the police always have their cherries on, and they are standing in front if the lake looking in the same spot about 50 yards away from the RV. They never searched the buildings on the grounds; which the mother searched and found the sicko responsible for making filthy movies. They also never searched the trash. Doesn't jive. (00:00:01 - 01:50:55)
Stupidity: Two things: 1. I find it inconceivable that there is only one Carbon Dioxide Removal Assembly (CDMA) and no spares for a two-year mission. 2. The crew has 20 days to fix an oxygen problem. The commander decides on a 10-day window. 5 days into that window they try to load oxygen from the Kingfisher spacecraft. One is lost into space. Zoe decides to go and fill the other one in the midst of a solar storm that will only last hours. Why take that chance? A few hours wait is still quite possible.
Stupidity: Ilona Bergen's murder happening as shown is laughable; she sees the hand with the syringe coming, slowly, at her, and not only she can't defend herself or avoid it (because, damsels in distress in the 60s, you know), but she does not even scream. There's no way the killer could have been sure, or even take a calculated risk, to murder her in such a way. (00:55:25)
Stupidity: When Amy tries to use the security cameras at Desi's house to make it look like he raped her, wouldn't the cops be curious as to why there was just one little scene - and not 30 days worth of footage? Wouldn't they question what happened to the rest of the footage (showing her being looked after by Desi and living comfortably), and why that little bit showing her crawling on the ground was left undeleted. Also she tied lace around her hands. Anyone could break material like that if they tried hard enough. Why would Desi risk that?
Stupidity: When Will Smith and Gene Hackman are running through the railroad yard. Gene calls Will by his real name, "Will" and not by his character's name "Robert."
Suggested correction: You could be a little bit more specific, but I don't hear him say "Will" at any point during that run.
Stupidity: David was seriously injured by Olivia a few times (e.g, hit by her car and on the head with a baseball bat). When Olivia went into the bedroom, David was able to knock over his chair, get a knife off the floor, and free himself from being duct-taped to the chair. David took the car keys but left the knife on the floor, even though he was weak and vulnerable and Olivia had previously chased and caught him. When David returned to the cabin, Olivia came in with the knife and keys. (01:02:55 - 01:09:49)
Stupidity: Don told Allen he'd have to wear a blindfold to his house because he didn't want Allen to know where he lived. Instead of having Allen ride in the cab where he could monitor him to make sure he didn't remove the blindfold, Don made Allen ride in the truck's bed (where Allen did lower the blindfold to use his cell phone). (00:14:24 - 00:17:00)
Stupidity: While "sneaking" away from the school during the talent show, Susan squealed her tires pulling out of the parking spot (which wasn't in the best place for sneaking out). She speeds out of the lot and down the road, squealing her tires again making a sharp turn and cutting off a driver. These are ways of drawing attention to oneself and increasing the chances of being detected. (01:22:32)
Stupidity: While Reed and Jackson slid the fiberscope (or borescope camera) under the door and the whole time they were looking into the room, they stood in front of the door instead of moving to the side. If the perpetrator saw the camera and shot through the door, Reed and/or Jackson could have been seriously injured or killed. (01:03:05 - 01:04:43)
