Best thriller movie stupidity of all time
Stupidity: Ashley Judd finally tracks her husband down and what does she do? She doesn't try to capture him to prove her innocence, she doesn't notify the police, she doesn't take his picture and send it to every police dept in the US, she doesn't even follow him to find out where her son is. Instead all she does is ask for her kid back. What was she going to do even if she got him back? She is still on the run from the law, with little money and resources and she doesn't even know if her kid even remembers her.
Stupidity: When Flint Marko is escaping from the police, he climbs a chain link fence into a test facility. Besides having a chain link fence, there should have also been security cameras around the area as well as guards to prevent anyone from trying to get in. Plus, when the scientist notice on their computers that there's an increase in mass, one of them simply assumes it's a bird and then they continue their experiment. Instead of making assumptions, they should have halted their experiment and have someone take a look to see what caused the increase of mass.
Stupidity: Reliant's prefix code is 16309. This code prevents an enemy ship from ordering a friendly ship to lower its shields or something similar. Five digits with no symbols. We know that symbols and letters aren't used since Spock uses a 10 digit set of switches to input the code. This is ludicrous. In 2016, a high powered server could crack a 6 digit password in approximately 0.0224 seconds (at 100 billion guesses/second). Any starship computer would have to far more processing power then a 2016 server. The prefix code protecting a starship from cyber attack would have to be insanely complex in order to be useful.

Stupidity: Jill wasn't thinking too clearly when she plans her story. She only wiped the fingerprints off the gun but they would be all over the tape on Trevor's body. Then she wipes off the knife yet touches it again to slide it across the floor. She was thinking that Trevor and Charlie were going to be thought of as the killers but their fingerprints weren't on either of the weapons.
Stupidity: It's stated that Imhotep will fear cats until he has fully regenerated and two different scenes show him fleeing in terror at the sight of a cat. Despite this, none of the characters that Imhotep is trying to kill that are fully aware of his weakness even think to have a cat with them at all times.

Stupidity: When Cathy, Chris and Carrie go into their late grandfather's room, they discover a copy of the grandfather's will that states that if it was ever discovered that Corrine had children, she would lose everything. Had they taken the will to their mom's wedding and showed it to her fiance, they would have been able to expose the scam much quicker. Instead, they take the dead mouse Fred with them and show it to everybody. What good would a dead mouse do when a will has more leverage?
Stupidity: In the scene where Sam Neill and the little boy are climbing down the tree, the car keeps crashing down a few branches at a time behind them. Why are they in such a hurry? If the car is falling in such a straight line, wouldn't it be easier to climb around to the other side of the tree, where they would be safely out of danger?
Stupidity: Red and his gang have a barn full of stuff and talk about other couples and people they have kidnapped, robbed and probably killed. This indicates they have been in the "game" for a long time and been successful to avoid capture this long yet when Kurt Russell didn't want to get in the car, instead of cutting their losses, they went along with kidnapping his wife and initiating the whole ruse of her never getting in Reds truck which is what led to their downfall. Someone with the experience of this that Red has should know not to take such a big risk with a complicated story.
Stupidity: Early in the film, Peter Parker desperately wants to see Mary Jane's performance, but he is turned away at the theatre doors because he is a few minutes late. Defeated, Peter shuffles away and sulks. Seriously? Why couldn't Peter simply enter the theatre through a side door or the roof? He's Spider Man.

Stupidity: At the end, the police inspector talks Bruce Lee into surrendering, and about 8 people (including the inspector) escort him out of the school. As soon as they're outside, Bruce sees a formation of heavily-armed police preparing to fire. Realizing he was betrayed, Bruce Lee charges, screaming, straight into a barrage of gunfire as the action freezes for credits. However, before the action freezes, there's NO reaction from anyone standing behind Bruce Lee, even though they are directly in the line of fire. Even the police inspector (who knew the police gunmen were waiting outside) just stands there instead of immediately diving for cover.
Stupidity: After John's wife is taken he follows them. Four of them spend a good 5-10 minutes shooting the hood and down the side, he pulls right up next to them and they still shoot down the side. Why didn't they just shoot right inside the windows or or windshield? Should have been very easy since all the windows were down and John had knocked out the windshield. John would have been dead and their troubles over.
Stupidity: When the guy is escaping on the helicopter at the beginning, the cops are all in position pointing their guns. Despite the baddie shooting at them, not one cop bothers to fire back (despite being fully within their right to). They just stand there and let him escape.

Stupidity: In the first action scene where James Franco's body becomes mortally engulfed in flames in his cryopod, when they are using the jaws-of-life-hatch-removing tool to manually free him, there are two very strong men struggling with all their might to pull down on the levers to pop the lid off. A) If you watch closely, one of the guys is only using one hand to pull down on the lever. Hardly a serious effort to crank the thing open. B) Meanwhile, there are three other men present who, rather than jumping in with the other two guys trying desperately to pull those levers down, are instead ridiculously engaged in holding Franco's hysterical girlfriend back from the now-flaming pod.
Stupidity: When Kirk hijacks the USS Enterprise from space dock, Captain Styles gives pursuit in the USS Excelsior, and Styles radios a warning to Kirk: "If you do this, you'll never sit in a captain's chair again!" Of course, Kirk is a Starfleet Admiral, not a captain, so sitting in a captain's chair is the least of Kirk's concerns.

Stupidity: At the end Vince fires a grappling hook at the passenger seat of the truck then attaches the other end to himself, all the truck driver has to do now is hit the brakes and Vince would be dead under the truck or dragged along the road.
Stupidity: When Luke jumps onto the second skiff the skiff pilot is at the other end and has plenty of time to drive away to remove the threat of Luke and save all of his friends and Jabba, but instead just stands there with no reaction. It's like its an empty costume, there is also a skiff guard in white at the front that is nearest Luke, but again no reaction. In the next shot he is seen going over the front.
Stupidity: Captain Poison has a fairly good idea of where Solomon buried the diamond. We know this since when he leads the captured Solomon to the spot, there are already several holes dug looking for it. Despite knowing roughly where the diamond is - down to a relatively small area - he makes no serious effort to excavate the ground, instead contenting himself with a handful of incredibly shallow holes.
Stupidity: At the start of the tanker chase Sanchez shoots at Bond. He manages to get in the cab and throw the driver out, who lands on Sanchez's car. Sanchez then gets in front of Bond and has the ideal opportunity to just shoot the cab up with his machine gun knowing Bond is driving, but he doesn't.
