Rudy picture

Trivia: One of the fans in the stands is actually Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger, and he is listed in the credits as "fan in the stands" who can be seen in the last few minutes of the film. You can see the real Rudy sitting directly behind the actors playing Rudy's parents, and he's wearing a plaid flat cap and a dark colored coat with a thick light beige fur collar/lapel. About 15 seconds after the game ending tackle, Ned Beatty, the actor playing Rudy's father, turns around and grabs the real Rudy by his coat collar/lapel, then slaps his chest in joyful celebration.

Suggested correction: The real Dan "Rudy" Ruettiger was not the gentleman it the dark coat, as stated in the trivia fact. The real "Rudy" is the gentleman in tan trenchcoat standing behind Jon Favreau. It even says so in the closing credits of the movie. He's seen taking a picture with his camera when Jon Favreau says,"Who's the wild man now."

The trivia listing is in fact quite correct. Firstly, the suggested correction claims, "It even says so in the closing credits of the movie," but what it actually reads in the closing credits is, "fan in stands," so this does not back up your claim by any means. Secondly, regarding the statement, "the gentleman in tan trenchcoat standing behind Jon Favreau," this man looks absolutely nothing like the real Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger in any of the shots where this man is visible. And lastly, there are many interviews/pictures available online with the real older Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger, and as stated in the trivia, he appears in this movie (from 1993) during the last game seated behind Ned Beatty and Mary Ann Thebus, the actors portraying Rudy's parents.

During the 2017 documentary, "Rudy Ruettiger: The Walk On," there are photos shown, which include behind the scenes photographs of the real Rudy during the filming of "Rudy" the motion picture from 1993. In a couple of the photos Rudy is even wearing the same clothes he's wearing in his cameo in the film. The correction of the valid trivia is rubbish.

Miracle picture

Trivia: If you listen very carefully to the part where Al MIchaels says, "Do you believe in miracles? YES...", you'll notice that it's from the original broadcast of the game in 1980. All other play-by-play was re-done by Michaels as the movie was produced. The reason they used the original 1980 broadcast for just that specific moment is that Michaels had a difficult time recreating the emotion and excitement he felt when shouting it as it really happened.
