Trivia: Near the end of the film in the locker room prior to the championship game, Coach Dale makes reference to the players on the other team whose names are written on a chalkboard. If you look closely at the list of names, you'll see that they are the last names of the actors that portray the Hickory players (Poole, Schenk, Boyle, etc).

Hoosiers (1986)
1 trivia entry
Directed by: David Anspaugh
Starring: Barbara Hershey, Dennis Hopper, Gene Hackman, Sheb Wooley
Continuity mistake: In the first act, two of the seven Hoosiers leave the team after Hackman takes over as coach. Shortly after, one of the players apologetically returns, bringing the total to six. The seventh member, "Buddy," is never shown returning, but halfway through the film you start seeing him again in the games.
Suggested correction: This is only an error due to editing. There was a scene filmed that explained Buddy's return to the team. However, it was edited out. I believe the director later indicated he regretted doing this but that he needed to reduce the run time of the film (I am not positive on the reason for the removal, but the scene does exist).
Merle Webb: Let's win this one for all the small schools that never had a chance to get here.
