Best horror movie plot holes of all time
Plot hole: In the end of the film it is heard the police want to exhume the body of Charles Lee Ray from his grave site in New Jersey. Now when Chucky and the crew get to the grave site they find and kill a coroner who is digging up the body. He is the only one there at 1am, by himself, a lonely coroner without any police officers, after all this is a police investigation and I doubt the cops would have him there alone. Then right at the end the Detective who is hunting them arrives. Now he is a cop from Lockport, about six states away. A. Why did he drive all that way to see the body? B. A cop from all the way down there shows up but no new Jersey cops are at the scene?
Plot hole: This huge demon monster flies around and is seen by at least 30 people, and the day after this demon kills all these people. Everyone just goes on with their daily life. Where the hell is the FBI and the National Guard, this thing just killed 10 people and there's no search the next day for this demon that killed about 5 police officers?
Plot hole: Peter goes into Carl's mind to save Catherine. When he's in there he sees the tank with the water nymph. On the tank are strange symbols which provide the FBI with the clue needed to find the latest victim. Makes sense so far. But, go back to the scene just after the FBI have captured the comatose killer and are looking in his basement. The FBI are looking at the contraption that the killer uses to suspend himself over the victim. On the contraption is the same symbol seen later on the water nymph's tank. Why didn't the FBI follow up the symbol then?
Plot hole: When the first security guard, who stayed back to get something to eat, hears something in the laundry room, he walks over to the washing machine where he finds the head of the other security guard inside. He turns around screaming and trips over the security guard's body on the ground with no head. Wouldn't he notice the dead body on the ground when he first entered the room?
Plot hole: How did the men on the ship get killed? The bridge was intact and the T-Rex was still inside the cargo hold. [A raptor escapes from the boat when it pulls in to the harbour, but they cut the scene from the film and now that bit doesn't appear to make any sense.]
Plot hole: Red Queen is extremely conveniently programmed for the plot of the movie. 1. Rather than seal off rooms in a place she has TOTAL control of, (that by the way is designed to be isolated in sections for this very reason), she lets the infection spread to everybody in the Hive. She could have easily contained it in a small section of the facility. This is standard procedure in ANY biowarfare lab, there is no way she wouldn't be programmed to do it. 2. Rather than let everyone know the virus is loose, she just starts killing everyone. She had counter-virus available, why not let everyone know that they are locked in with the virus, but help is coming? The infected personnel would be hit with it only minutes after infection. If it didn't work and they died, they are still locked in. 3. Instead of calling Umbrella and telling them the virus is loose, she clams up and just slaughters everyone. This guarantees that Umbrella will ignore anything she has to say, and breach the Hive with a response team and release the virus, the very thing she is programmed to prevent. 4. When Kaplan is disabling her, she keeps telling him that it's a bad idea, but doesn't bother to let him know that shutting her down will release hordes of flesh-eating killers. 5. She just assumes that Spence, no matter how he got in to the T-virus storage has clearance to stuff it all in a duffel bag and walk out with it. She could have locked him in and double-checked with Umbrella. 6. The entire reason for her existence is to prevent the virus from escaping, while almost every decision she makes greatly increases the chances it will get out of the Hive. This is way beyond bad programming - this is highly advanced AI doing the exact opposite of what she's designed for.

Plot hole: We see Michael wearing the mask throughout the day, from morning at the Myers House, to mid-day outside Laurie's school, to afternoon when Tommy is leaving school, yet when Laurie and Annie see the sheriff in front of the hardware store on the way to their babysitting jobs (presumably in late afternoon or early evening), the store's alarm is still ringing and the sheriff mentions that one of the items stolen was a Halloween mask.

Plot hole: When the cop shows Pam the newspaper clippings they include what look to be fresh photos of the real Jason from the events of Part IV, yet no photographer is ever seen taking pictures of Jason alive in the previous films and most likely wouldn't live long enough to publish the photo.
Plot hole: When L.J. Is bitten he manages to suppress becoming a zombie for 1-2 days. When Carlos is bitten by L.J. he is infected so quickly and talks about it "being too late for him" (whereas in the previous film he had 3 hours before getting the antidote). Why is this different now and why is Carlos not still carrying the antidote in him?

Plot hole: Towards the end the Rich Purgers call for reinforcements, and Shane, Leo, Eva and Cali are hiding behind a wall. A guy somehow opens a door in front of them (without being seen by the three facing him), exposes himself and shoots only Shane, numerous times, to cause his death. He should have been spotted by the people looking in his direction. Also, if he was that well hidden he could have simply sprayed the entire group. He unloaded 5 or 6 shots to Shane's chest...when he could have taken them all out.
Plot hole: The fearless trio is in the watch tower when the hillbillies set fire to it. Realizing their fate if they stay, the three then jump out the window and onto nearby tree branches in order to escape the blaze. After escaping the towering inferno, it seems that the fire dies immediately. These three don't go far after jumping and are in the trees for some time. Shouldn't there be a great glow and lots of noise and smoke from the fire as the watch tower burns down?
Plot hole: Following Glen's death, Nancy tells her father to come across the street in 20 minutes to catch Freddy. She then goes to her house, checks and sets her alarm clock, and proceeds to rig the ENTIRE house with booby traps, including filling a light bulb with the contents of several shotgun shells, and has a heart-to-heart talk with her inebriated mom. When she gets back to her room to go to sleep, she checks her clock again. The time on the clock has advanced only TEN minutes. She did ALL that in only TEN minutes?
Plot hole: In the end, when Charlie is advancing on Emily while turning his light on and off, the final time he turns it on, Kathrine is in front of Emily. How could she get there so fast without being heard? There's at least 4-5 inches of water that would make sneaking very hard.

Plot hole: Jason somehow manages to get the two halves of Andy's dead body on the wooden ceiling rafter, with no blood dripping onto the hammock and staining it, or getting none onto the floor. Debbie then gets into the hammock, and about a minute later, blood starts dripping - for no apparent reason. Why?
Plot hole: Not far into the movie, Starla decides to check out the basement to see what Grant's been up to. As soon as the door is opened she reels from the stench and we discover that it's full of rotting meat and dead animals. In reality, the whole house would have smelt like an abattoir for days before hand and the stench would have permeated out into the neighbourhood. A non-airtight wooden door would not have kept that kind of smell located to the basement only.
Plot hole: When the cop is in the room and he realises how the teacher escaped from the hotel, he pictures him walking out in the bellboy uniform while the cop is downstairs. However at this time he should be upstairs with the girl in her room, because he is still in the room when she runs out of the room into the cop. For this to work out, the teacher would have to have left the room before the girl even got there.
Plot hole: When the film opens, Jason is bound and restrained in an empty room. After killing the six security guards and appearing in the hallway, he chases after Rowan with a machete. Where'd he get this? All the guards had guns, and the rest of the room was completely barren. [Apparently, there was a cut scene (unfortunately deleted scenes weren't included on the DVD) showing Rowan with a box of Crystal Lake newspaper clippings and other Jason material/evidence, and his machete was one of the items in the box. Still a mistake due to the empty room (ropey editing), but that's the reason.]
Plot hole: The Hellworld website at the beginning of the film has eerie music and also Pinhead's voice reciting some of his famous lines from other Hellraiser movies, which is impossible; there's no way that someone could have gotten recordings of those moments in the past where he said the lines, so they couldn't be playing on an internet webpage.
