Deliberate mistake: The Messerschmitts have painted yellow fronts, this wasn't done by the Germans until after Dunkirk. Christopher Nolan has admitted doing this deliberately so the audience could tell the difference between the Spitfire and the Messerschmitt during the combat scenes.

Deliberate mistake: When MIB agents exit the lift to get into the main hall of the MIB Office, the lift opens halfway up the wall and they need to go down a little platform. But when K and J return during the lockdown and face the trashcan with guns, the lift opens at floor level, so it can be conveniently peppered with bullets. (01:02:05)

Deliberate mistake: When the girls all order their food at the drive through they get their food but never pay. (00:17:15)

Deliberate mistake: At the beginning of the Fellowship's journey, they are resting on a hilltop (Hollin) with rocky formations. Bill the pony is tethered in the background in one shot. Then come the spying crows from Saruman and they all quickly hide. When the crows swoop in closer we see no-one, but who hid the pony and where? (01:37:45)

Deliberate mistake: When Morpheus is facing the twins' car, the road's not all that wide, and there are concrete barriers both sides of him. After he rolls to the side and slices their car, we see a side shot, quite far back from the road, and the barrier closest to the camera has disappeared (presumably so we get a better view). In a closer view, both barriers are back again. (01:29:25)

Deliberate mistake: The coordinates listed for Hobbs' soccer game (34.1381N, 118.3534W) at the beginning are not actually a wooded suburban area with a recreational field, but are in fact the longitude and latitude for the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park in Los Angeles. (00:15:20)

Deliberate mistake: In the fight scene with the chariots Maximus takes one of the horses from a chariot and jumps on it. The horse already has a saddle complete with stirrups despite the fact it was pulling a chariot and not carrying a rider. (01:23:30)

Deliberate mistake: Gandu Three Echo, the clone who hits the screen showing the first lottery winner in the movie, complains that he has been around for 7 years and never won the lottery. However, McCord explains later in the movie that the last name tells how old the clones are. Lincoln Six Echo is 3 years old because he is in the Echo generation, and the Delta generation (Jordan Two Delta) is 4 years old. Going backwards, this would make Charlies 5 years old, Bravos 6 years old, and Alphas 7 years old. Gandu Three Echo should have really been Gandu Three Alpha. (00:05:55)

Deliberate mistake: When the ship crashes into the dock, all of the scenes leading up to the crash and after it show a clear view across the harbor as we can see lights and land on the other side. It's not until the ship is about to crash that a thick and dense fog appears and disappears within a minute to mask the ship to create a more dramatic effect.

Deliberate mistake: When Frenzy attacks Sam, the teenager wears straight leg jeans with a narrow leg opening (not boot cut) and thick-soled Nikes, seen in numerous shots, as he kicks at the Decepticon. After the cut to Mikaela (who finds the reciprocating saw), during which Frenzy has already pulled off the bottom of Sam's jeans, Sam continues to kick and scream just before he gets up and runs. Problem is Sam still wears both thick-soled Nikes, neither of which slipped off as Frenzy maniacally pulled the jeans, with narrow leg openings, from his kicking legs/feet. Impossible even in the best of circumstances.

Deliberate mistake: In the scene where Emmet drives to work, you get Emmet's view of the dashboard with his hand switching on the radio. The car at that moment has no front window, perhaps to make the car look bigger from the inside. (00:04:50)

Deliberate mistake: In the scene after the Helm's Deep battle, when Aragorn meets Eowyn, the earlier footage of Aragorn's return to Helm's Deep is used. He has the wound on his shoulder and is dressed like he was during the 'falling' episode. The background (people in the fortress walking calmly) also indicates that this takes place before the battle. This scene should immediately follow the one where Aragorn is greeted by Gimli ("you are the most reckless man I ever knew"). Confirmed on cast commentary, extended DVD. (02:45:20)

Deliberate mistake: When Neo and Morpheus are in the construct place (where it is all white), you can see that Morpheus' glasses are a matte grey and then a second later they are totally reflective. [The shot where Morpheus has flat black glasses was shot with a steadycam. A cameraman using a special camera strapped to his body walks in a snaking path from behind Neo, to behind Morpheus. He passes in front of Morpheus at least once. His glasses were painted flat black to prevent the reflection of the steadycam operator showing up on film. At the end of the shot, you can see the back side of the lens. While doing this scene and saying his dialogue, Laurence Fishburne couldn't see anything.] (00:38:10)

Deliberate mistake: When Will is bound and brought before "Chief" Jack, Will says, "The compass!" and there is a close-up of the compass, as it hangs to the right of the long striped cloth. However, in all other shots the compass hangs to the left of the red and white striped cloth. This is a flipped shot - note the large buckles.

Deliberate mistake: When Brad Pitt is in his garage and cleans the spot on this collar, he should have turned the car's mirror to the left to see himself. Instead, he turns the mirror to the right so the camera can get a view of his collar.

Deliberate mistake: The way diplomatic immunity is depicted in the movie is extremely inaccurate. While technically a sufficiently ranking diplomat could perform the acts shown in the movie without being subject to arrest, their home government would be requested to turn the diplomats over for trial, or the diplomat would be declared persona non grata and expelled from the country. A drug smuggling ring and murdering multiple policemen is far, far more serious than actual crimes that diplomats have been expelled (or handed over for trial) for in the real world. Additionally, the consul general and his officers would not be considered diplomats. They would only have limited consular immunity with regards to "official acts" in the course of consular business.

Deliberate mistake: At no time can a player on the ice play without a helmet. It may be legal in professional hockey, but never in youth league games, world championships or not (This happens when the goalie comes out of the crease and takes his mask off to shoot his "knuckle-puck", as well as the penalty shot in the first movie.)

Deliberate mistake: When Old Biff and Young Biff are sitting in Biff's car, the car's rear-view mirror vanishes during all shots of Old and Young Biffs together. Presumably this made the split-screen effect easier to do.

Deliberate mistake: When Commander Taggert and Lt. Madison are about to press the blue button to stop the ship exploding, Lt. Madison's tunic is mostly zipped up. A few seconds later it is suddenly mostly unzipped. Those of you who have access to the DVD of the film can see that there was a deleted scene which was originally intended to go in here where she unzips her tunic to distract the aliens.

Deliberate mistake: During the moon buggy chase scene in the desert one of the Ford LTDs crashes and the front fenders, inner fenders, and doors fall off. Even if the car fell off of a cliff this couldn't happen unless all the bolts were moved previously.
