Factual error: Morgan is following a suspect into the subway tunnels. As he is coming around a corner, you can see the tracks behind Morgan. The tracks are three straight pieces of track making a corner. There is no way a train can make a corner on straight tracks. There should have been curved tracks.edbo
Continuity mistake: The BAU has its 'own' airplane in use at the FBI. However the type of plane used varies between episodes and even within an episode (and even for at least one episode within one shot; see previous post). Although it would be likely for the BAU to have one dedicated airplane at least within one episode, it could be they time-share and so different planes are used. No matter what plane they are using, one thing never changes and that's the interior of the planes. So even when a different type of plane is used (e.g. Gulf Stream V vs. 100), the interior remains the same.
Continuity mistake: In the scene just after Gideon talks to Cherish's mother we see him start to walk toward the rest of the team. In the wide shot we see Reid standing with his hands in his pockets and jacket open, we then see him close his jacket and cross his arms as Gideon gets closer, but in the very next shot (the close up on Reid) we see his jacket open and his arms at his side once more. (00:12:20)
Continuity mistake: At the end a shot is shown of the FBI airplane in mid air. The airplane shown is a Gulf Stream V; which has a very distinctive nose. After the scene inside the airplane; another shot is shown of the plane's exterior, however all of a sudden they fly a Gulf Stream 100, which is a significantly larger plane and a very different design. (00:41:05 - 00:45:00)
Character mistake: They are confronting a man who may be the unsub when Emily Prentiss says that the victims all have blonde hair and blue skin. Obviously, the victims have blue eyes, not blue skin. (00:18:17)
Other mistake: Just after they were finished explaining that you can not tilt the mystery package because it would instantly blow up, they show the little girl at her doorstep holding the package completely tilted. Just when you think that means that this package now doesn't fall into the "explosive" category, they then show the mom freaking out, and later police making the girl hold the package in a completely different (non-tilted) position.
Continuity mistake: While Reid's asleep in the hospital bed, Garcia places four Doctor Who figurines (one Dalek we don't see her place) on the overbed table - two Daleks, Matt Smith's Doctor, and David Tennant's Doctor. In the first shot Garcia's holding Smith's Doctor in her right hand and Tennant's Doctor in her left hand, but in the next shot those two figurines have switched hands.Super Grover
Visible crew/equipment: When James Charles, the guidance counselor, says, "It could be someone you know, or it could be a stranger you pass at the grocery store," the actors' red T-marks are visible on the floor at Reid's and Gideon's feet. Then when Charles continues to say, "gathering information on the case," we can also see the actor's white T-mark beside the counselor's feet, where he will stand after he introduces Gideon.Super Grover
Factual error: The BAU is called in to assist the Sheriff's Dept. in Franklin, Alaska (a made-up town, although there is a ghost town by that name). By statute, Alaska has never had any Sheriffs. Functions filled by sheriffs elsewhere fall mostly under the auspices of the Alaska State Troopers. Other law enforcement is by community or (rarely) borough which is what Alaska has instead of counties.
Continuity mistake: In the elderly victim's home, when Gideon is going through the dresser drawers he finds the small frame with the picture of her son, and there is a blue frame lying in the drawer, but in the next shot that blue frame is lying on the dresser even though he never touched it.Super Grover
Other mistake: At the start, the soon-to-be victim gets off the A train at Spring Street (subway heads south, then Bklyn/Queens) and stands on the west-side platform, facing the southern subway exit, then the unsub comes up from behind him, shoots him and he falls toward the same way that the unsub walks - the southern exit. However, when Hotchner plays the NYPD's surveillance footage, the victim is facing the northern subway exit when the unsub comes up from behind him, shoots, and he falls toward the same way that the unsub walks - this time the northern subway exit. Interestingly, neither are flipped shots since we can see "Spring St" correctly. Later, when Prentiss reviews footage it's as it was shown originally.Super Grover
Visible crew/equipment: When Katrina Townsley's driving while talking on her cell phone the unsub is driving behind her, and we see that she's alone in her car, but when the unsub rear-ends her car the second cameraman is sitting in the passenger seat with a handheld camera, filming Katrina's close-ups.Super Grover
