Continuity mistake: When Vuselich is lecturing Peter about his medical study, and we see Peter's face, his cap is pulled down over the top of his ears. When the shot is on Vuselich's face, we can now see the tops of Peter's ears. It continues like this for the whole scene.

How the Finch Stole Christmas - S6-E9

Continuity mistake: When Romano is operating on the heart patient Valerie, Lucy has an instrument inside the patient. The shot then changes so that we can see her face and as she says, "Dr. Romano," there is no longer anything in her hand and she is holding it up waiting for a nurse to pass her an instrument, which she takes, but then the shot goes behind her - she now has a different instrument in her hand, which is in a different position.

(00:24:00)

Do You See What I See? - S4-E10

Continuity mistake: Within the space of what would appear to be more than 5 minutes in the ER, considering the continuous flow of action (starting with Kerry offering to get Pablo a taxi and ending with Dr. West examining the patient Lenny) the clock goes from 10:30 to 6:20. Shortly after that Dr. West pronounces Lenny dead, saying 13:38 (or 1:38).

Random Acts - S3-E20

Continuity mistake: After Mark is beaten up, he topples out into the hall when Doug opens the bathroom door. The shot from the hall shows his body from the armpits up is in the hall, but from the shot from inside the bathroom, he is lying in the hall from the hip up. Nobody moved him in the meantime.

The Right Thing - S2-E14

Continuity mistake: When Doug is outside with his father, and the shot is on Ray, we can see a lot of snow in the air, but when the camera goes to Doug, there is no snow at all. The snow distribution on his father's coat change from shot to shot as well, too much to happen in only a Split Second.

No Brain, No Gain - S3-E7

Continuity mistake: Carter is working on a patient who has swallowed a lot of taffy - he is sitting behind his head with both hands working on his mouth. But when Anspaugh walks in he suddenly has one elbow up in the air and the other hand wrapped around the patient's chin. There was no time for the change in position.

Trivia: Doug Ross frequently hung his head low, appearing ashamed or thoughtful or privately amused, depending on the scene. This wasn't just an element of the character: George Clooney had taken to writing his lines on papers, sheets, and other props.
