Question: When Amy protests as Dan picks her up and jumps into the water with her, we cut to an underwater view of them plunging into the water together, and then Amy freezing up moments later. What happened that maybe triggered her the moment they went underwater?

Question: At the end of the film, and just after the shootout between Andre Davis and Captain McKenna, we can glimpse blood on McKenna's badge as he's knelt down, seriously injured. Is this a reference to Andre's previous statement that "There cannot be blood on the badge"?

Question: When Rose went underwater to retrieve her fallen keys, what was the story of the ballroom? Why was it flooded? Also, why did Rose choose to swim in the water fully clothed instead of just going in her underwear, to prevent her clothes from getting soaked?

Question: At the end, when Peter Ward was saying goodbye to his family for the last time, were they the ghosts of his family, or was he imagining the whole conversation as a result of never having gotten to say goodbye in real life?

Question: If the two cops in the diner recognized Peter Ward as he (in his Will Atenton persona) was talking to them about the case, then why were they acting like he, in fact, wasn't Peter Ward but someone other than him? Or did I miss something?

Question: When we first see Michael Burry at his desk, practicing drumming, he is wearing a T-shirt with what looks like a complicated mathematical formula on it. Can anyone identify this?

Question: Given that the mother pulled a vanishing act before with her daughter, why didn't the court put the child in foster care during the trial to make sure she didn't pull it again?

Question: What's the name of the younger girl that Aron is with throughout the movie? There's a scene of him sharing what little food he had with her, walking with her, and discovering the mass grave of bodies, and she's one of those shouting for justice when the German soldier was captured.

Question: What did Cheng and Meiying say at the park when they were talking?

Question: What is the book title that Alisa shows the creature with gills?

Question: During the opening bank robbery and shootout, why didn't the SWAT snipers just immediately take out both gunmen outside right there, instead of having the SWAT ground team confront them? Wasn't the objective to neutralise the threats immediately? The snipers could have ended that in no time at all.

Question: Are John R. DeMarco, Don Juan, and Dr. Jack (John) Mickler possibly all one individual contemplating romance at an older age? They can be considered the Id, Ego, and Superego of one person, for they all have the same first name. Jack, John, and Juan are all derivatives of John.

Question: In the opening scene, when Vera was looking intently at a painting depiction of an underwater scene, we cut to her being underwater, taking off a coat, and then lingering underwater, looking up. What was going on that made her go underwater, take off her coat, and float in the water?

Question: During the Sheriff's car ride back to the Vaughn house, when the Sheriff was explaining the story of the previous Sheriff, is it hinted that the sheriff and the others killed him so he could take over? And if that's true, was that because the previous Sheriff was about to get in the way of Jay's criminal activities or was already doing so?

Question: How did Reacher know it was James Barr who killed those men in Baghdad? Unless there was a forensic sweep on the bodies or for shell casings, how was he caught? There could have been multiple army snipers in the general area who could have committed the act.
