Continuity mistake: Just before the other Buzz activates his anti gravity in the lift shaft, you can see that the lift is nowhere to be seen in the darkness, yet when Buzz and the other toys fall, they only fall a short distance before landing on the lift roof which is now highly illuminating the whole lift shaft. Deliberate mistake: At the start of the movie when the articulated truck is leaving the aircraft, you never see the attached trailer until the truck is completely flat on the runway. This is because of the steepness of the loading ramp, the trailer would ground and get stuck on the ramp.

Continuity mistake: When the Iron Giant and Hogarth meet for the second time, they both sit down, and you can see that both the Giant's hands are flat on the floor. Then, the Giant produces the electricity shut off switch from one of his hands even though both his hands were previously empty.

Suggested correction: When the Giant crouches down to Hogarth, his right hand is in a fist, and it stays that way as he is sitting down. The switch was absolutely in his hand the whole time.

Revealing mistake: When in the desert crash scenes, there is a side on view of a garbage truck lifting up a Police car and dropping it into its bin on the back. In the foreground is an upturned Police car that another car vaults over and crashes. You can see the ramp in front of the upturned car that enables the other Police car to vault it.

Continuity mistake: When Justice is chasing Bandit after the desert crash scenes, he says about how Bandit has picked a route with only one way out, and behind him you can see a load of trucks. The next camera shot then shows Justice driving away from the camera with Police cars following, then the next shot then goes back to an interior shot of Justice and there is now nothing behind him.

Other mistake: Van Cleef and Boudreaux reload their guns, and then have the mother of all firefights, culminating with Boudreaux emptying both guns into Van Cleef. They only had two guns each and the amount of shots they fired apiece was way in-excess of what they reloaded.

Other mistake: When Justices car gets crushed as is almost triangular shaped, and driving down the road, it shows a shot of Justice cleaning off some dirt from the dashboard. If you look at the hood/bonnet where all the crease marks are from the crash, you can see quite a bit of rust where the paint has flaked off. Considering the damage is only supposed to have just happened, there should be clean metal not rust.

Revealing mistake: The helicopter that chases down Boudreaux fires a shot at his horse that causes an explosion that makes it fall, then another shot is fired, but the resulting explosion is exactly the same as the previous one, except the footage is taken from a different angle.
