Death in Paradise (2011)

Correction: As someone having to wear such a mask I can only say that from time to time you do not wear it - it is not a very comfortable thing to do. Especially if one is drunk as Cedrik, he may have skipped wearing the mask that night. So I would not count it as a mistake.

As a fellow mask wearer myself, agreed. It's entirely plausible with Cedrik being that intoxicated he just simply didn't put his mask on.

Hot Fuzz (2007)

Corrected entry: After Angel leaves Skinner's office to confront the shoplifter, (before Angel arrives next to him at the shelves) the shoplifter isn't putting any items into his pockets - he's merely miming the gesture.

Heather Benton

Correction: Watch closely. At least 1 packet of biscuits is put into his jacket pocket.

Columbo (1971)

Correction: Early indications at a crime scene can be misleading. At the scene they have no way to confirm what happens. That is usually determined by the autopsy.

Stan & Ollie (2018)

Corrected entry: When Stan and Ollie are about to do the "At the Ball, That's All" dance outside Mickey Finn's at the start, they are facing the camera with Mickey Finn's behind them and they start doing the dance whilst the camera is rolling. When the audience are watching them do the dance in the movie at the cinema, they are now facing Mickey Finn's with a projection screen behind them, just like in the actual movie.

Heather Benton

Correction: I'm correcting my own mistake after looking at videos again of the scene in question - I was wrong in my recollection. Stan and Ollie are actually in front of the projection screen when the camera starts rolling and not Mickey Finn's.

X-Men: Apocalypse (2016)

Correction: The tie we see is burgundy with black used for the design. In the next shot, it's still the same tie.

Richie Rich (1994)

Corrected entry: When Cadbury suggests that Richie stays in America instead of going with his parents on their trip so that he can make friends with the baseball group, Mrs Rich says that she's going to tell Richie about the idea right away and rushes onto the plane to tell him. Thing is, you never see Richie exit the plane, and even if he did it off screen, the villains are sitting on the tarmac, watching the plane, the whole time and they don't leave until the plane takes off.

Heather Benton

Correction: Ferguson is the only one there and as soon as he sees that all three board the plane, he says "all aboard" then leaves not staying to make sure they stay on the plane.

Hell on Earth 2006 - S10-E11

Corrected entry: When Satan announces his party, he says that you have to have a wristband and a costume to get in. But when Biggy Smalls shows up at the party, he doesn't have a costume on, even though the party was the same night he appeared in Butters' bathroom.

Heather Benton

Correction: Originally, Satan did not allow anyone without a wristband or costume into the party, but by the end of the episode, Satan had learned his lesson, realising that the party was more for the people and not for him and then granted everyone access to the party regardless of whether or not they had a wristband or costume. By the time Butters and Biggie Smalls arrived at the party, Satan had already opened the doors to everyone, so they would have been allowed in anyway.

Grey Dawn - S7-E10

Corrected entry: When the seniors take over the town, they put all the adults into a camp so that they can't stop them, but near the end of the episode, the seniors are surprised that Country Kitchen Buffet is not open. They shouldn't be surprised because if all the adults are in a camp, then there would be no one around to open up the restaurant for the seniors.

Heather Benton

Correction: It's obviously a joke that the seniors aren't too bright and meant to make a point.

Big Hero 6 (2014)

Corrected entry: When Hiro and his friends are watching the footage of Krei's failed teleportation experiment, Callaghan is nowhere to be seen in it until they watch it later on at Hiro's garage.

Heather Benton

Correction: Because Callaghan was way in the back off camera when they first watched it. After the accident Callaghan runs into camera view to assault Krei.

Dante's Peak (1997)

Corrected entry: When Harry, Rachel, her children and Grandma are escaping from Grandma's cabin, the volcanic lava breaks through the wall and everyone runs out the door, but there is no way they could possibly outrun the lava, since it's flowing quite rapidly.

Heather Benton

Correction: The front flow of lava moves very slow, the fastest recorded was 6 miles an hour. It's lava that's in already established flow channels that moves rapidly.

Spectre (2015)

Correction: The next scene takes place after a considerable amount of time. There was plenty of opportunity for Monica to apply a corset during that period, for reasons unknown.

Allan Hall

Corrected entry: When Wallace is backing out of the spare room, leaving Gromit to continue decorating, he accidentally bumps into Feathers. But if you look when Wallace is backing out, Feathers is not there and he was not seen walking up to the room; he just appears.

Heather Benton

Correction: Feathers McGraw is a silent, sinister and notorious criminal mastermind of many faces who is capable of disguising himself as a chicken with just a rubber glove. Clearly he is capable of sneaking up on Wallace like that. The fact that he just "appears" was done deliberately.

THGhost

Corrected entry: When Lorraine follows Marty back to Doc's in 1955 and Doc goes to answer the door, he says to Marty (before opening it) that it's his mum. Lorraine must have heard them through the door yet she never questions it.

Heather Benton

Correction: Two possible reasons she never asks about it. First, she simply did not hear him. You're assuming she did, but there's no evidence of it. Second, asking questions would be tantamount to admitting to eavesdropping. It's rude to eavesdrop and so Lorraine would hardly give herself away by asking questions about something she wasn't supposed to have heard in the first place, and which would have sounded nonsensical anyway.

Phixius

Correction: Besides, even if she did hear him, so what? She knew she obviously wasn't "Calvin's" mum. She would have assumed his mum looked like her and Doc mistakenly thought that was who was at the door. But if she still decided to question it, I just gave an explanation that they would have used.

Matilda (1996)

Corrected entry: When Zinnia wins at the bingo and takes the family to a posh restaurant to celebrate, she tells Harry he can't wear his hat in the restaurant because it's a posh place, but the restaurant happily lets the four of them walk in, even though they weren't dressed appropriately.

Heather Benton

Correction: Restaurants commonly prefer paying customers (especially with Zinnia's bingo winnings) over under-dressed customers. Also, Zinnia may think that she is dressed appropriately, given the fact that her character is extremely vain. (She tells Miss Honey in a later scene "You chose books, I chose looks").

Corrected entry: When the Beast tells Lumiere and Cogsworth that he wants to do something for Belle as a thank you, he has a bandage on his arm from when he rescued her from the wolves. But in the next scene, when he gives Belle his library, the bandage is gone.

Heather Benton

Correction: When Beast gives Belle the library, his shirt sleeves are covering his arms, so the bandage isn't gone, it is just covered up.

Corrected entry: When Indiana Jones is escaping with his father and he sets off a boat as a decoy, there is no large crate on the dock. But a few minutes later, when the Germans show up, as they start going towards the boats, a large crate has suddenly appeared on the dock, from which Indy and his dad emerged on a motorbike.

Heather Benton

Correction: The crate is on the dock the whole time. it is just off screen which is why Indy walks off screen while his father complains about not getting in the boat.

Annie (1982)

Corrected entry: When the kidnappers stop at the traffic lights, and the orphans spot Sandy and start calling him, surely Miss Hannigan, Rooster, Lily or Annie would have heard them, considering the windows are open and they are all calling Sandy quite loudly.

Heather Benton

Correction: They DID hear the orphans but chose to ignore them. If you look, Annie is struggling to get to them and is leaning towards the sound of their voices, so she heard them. The rest of them were anxious to get away and they knew if the reacted, they'd be caught, so they just act like they don't hear anything.

In Marge We Trust - S8-E22

Corrected entry: When Rev Lovejoy talks to Marge about how Flanders kept bothering him, like visiting the church and phoning him, in one of the scenes Lovejoy and his wife are sitting in a cafe in France, and Flanders manages to phone him. Thing is, how did Flanders know where they were, or even know they were at that cafe?

Heather Benton

Correction: That is the joke. Flanders is so persistant in his confessions and questions that he'll find Lovejoy no matter what.

Home Alone (1990)

Corrected entry: When Harry comes through the back door, the blowtorch sets his hat on fire, but doesn't seem to damage or set alight the curtains hanging on the back of the door, even though the flame is pretty big.

Heather Benton

Correction: Many curtains are available that are either made from a flame-retardant material or are treated to be so; it would make sense for the McCallisters to have such curtains on their door so that, in the event of a house fire, the most obvious exit would also not be engulfed in flames.

South Park (1997)

The Death of Eric Cartman - S9-E6

Corrected entry: When Cartman is walking the streets thinking he's died, it's a school day since you see him visit the school swarming with pupils and he is seen waiting with the other boys at the bus stop. But if it's a school day, what's Butters doing at home? And if it's because he's sick, why is he outside shovelling the snow off the driveway?

Heather Benton

Correction: Cartman sees Butters on an obviously different day. He leaves the school playground, crying, and eventually crosses a bridge during sunset. When he walks past a house, the sky is dark and stars are visible. In the scene with Butters, it is daytime again. This new day could be a weekend, holiday, or a day that the students have off for some reason (i.e. teacher meetings).

Correction: Butters' parents are constantly grounding him for one reason or another. They may have grounded him from school and had him do chores around the house instead.

Captain Defenestrator

It's actually a different day when Cartman talks to Butters. There were moments with a sunset and a starry night sky, then Butters is shoveling snow in the daytime.
