Trivia: The plot of this episode is similar to the plot of "Erin Brockovich" - a water supply being contaminated. Ecklie even calls Catherine Erin Brockovich at one point. Marg Helgenberger, who plays Catherine, was in "Erin Brockovich" as Donna Jensen, one of the people who became sick due to the contaminated water.

Trivia: When Ryan Reynolds goes to the facility to become a superhero, as he's being wheeled through the doors on the gurney, he asks (in regards to when he gets his superhero suit) if it can not be green, and also that it be a real suit and not a CGI one. Both these statements are in reference to the badly-received "Green Lantern" movie which starred Ryan Reynolds in the lead role.

Trivia: Gary's car "The Beast" is the same car that was used in the video for Mint Royale's "Blue Song", which was also directed by Edgar Wright (director of The World's End) and starred Michael Smiley and Nick Frost, who appear in this movie.
