Mega Man

Trivia: Originally, Megaman was intended to be white. With his colour fully changing depending on what robot power he was copying at the time, the square on his helmet would also change shape to reflect the power and element being copied. This is why one of his test names was "Rainbow Battle Kid." However, due to NES limitations and other artistic desires, they decided to make Megaman the colour blue since it was the easiest to work with. And we wouldn't see the helmet changing with his powers until Megaman 11, a full 31 years later.

Small Soldiers (1998)

Trivia: When the soldiers are turning the Gwendy dolls into more sentient toys, it is a very Frankenstein-inspired sequence. In fact, the score playing in the background is the music from the 1935 Bride of Frankenstein movie. Then right after, the movie transitions to one of the other toys, Troglokhan, watching Frankenstein on TV. Troglokhan is part toy, part radio, and parts in a Frankenstein style as well. His other name is also "Freakenstein"; however, this is not said in the movie but rather just the novelization of Small Soldiers.

Small Soldiers (1998)

Small Soldiers trivia picture

Trivia: Chip Hazard makes a speech to the other soldiers, his men, in front of a large puzzle of an American flag. This is supposed to be a reference to the movie Patton from 1970 where Patton gave a similar speech in front of a large American flag. Chip starts by saying, "Gentlemen, no poor sap ever won a war by dying for his country." This is very similar to what Patton said in the 1970 film. Jerry Goldsmith also composed the music for the scene in Patton and is the composer for Small Soldiers, with this being a nod to Goldsmith's work on Patton.

Small Soldiers (1998)

Trivia: Towards the start of the film, we see a building labeled Heartland Toy Company being renamed to Heartland Play Systems "A division of Globotech," reflecting the toy company being bought out by the military tech company. Funny enough, the building being used here used to be the location of a real-life military operations building and was used in preparations for Operation Desert Storm. And now it's being used to make a movie about toys.

Trivia: The company in the film, Globotech, has the slogan "Turning shares into plowshares." This is a play on the Biblical verse, Isaiah 2:4: "And they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks." This roughly means turning weapons of war into instruments of peace or agricultural tools in the end times, much like how Globotech went from making military weapons to kids' toys in this film.

One Year Later - S2-E1

Trivia: The ship that Cassian steals in the first episode is a prototype of the TIE Avenger. This was introduced to the Star Wars canon first in the 1994 PC game, Star Wars: TIE Fighter. It is portrayed as the next evolution of the TIE Fighter as an elite experimental ship and predecessor to the TIE Defender. It has enhanced shields, a hyperdrive, and heavy weapon loadouts including proton torpedoes. Andor season 2 is the first time this has appeared in Star Wars live action.

TMNT (2007)

Trivia: In the Turtle's trophy room, there is an Ooze canister on the shelf. In most incarnations of the TMNT, the company on this canister is labeled TCRI, but in the second live-action movie, it is TGRI. According to the director's commentary, they have the canister here split in just a way that you can't tell if it's a C or a G, helping to leave it ambiguous if this film is part of the 90s movie continuity, part of the 03 series, or its own continuity.

Trivia: Mikey Kelley is the voice of Michelangelo in this movie, and he was the original voice actor for Ratchet in the first Ratchet and Clank game. James Arnold Taylor is the voice of Leonardo in this movie, who replaced Mikey Kelley as Ratchet in Ratchet and Clank 2: Going Commando, and onward. So both voice actors for Ratchet play two different Turtles in this film.

Trivia: The orange tint that this game is widely known for having is actually unintentional. And only on the PS2 version of the game. It has something to do with how the PS2 processes colors a little differently, which caused that sepia tone look. There is a sort of Mandela effect where Xbox players remember that tint, but it was only on the PS2.

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift trivia picture

Trivia: Director Justin Lin was a fan of The Incredible Hulk TV series, and that inspiration led to Twinkie's Hulk van in Tokyo Drift. To make it authentic, the production worked with Marvel to secure rights for the design. The van, a Volkswagen Touran, was modified to look like Hulk's fists were smashing through the panels. This collaboration turned what could have been a parody gag into an officially approved Marvel reference.

Hulk (2003)

Trivia: Universal Pictures not only distributed Hulk (2003), but also secured solo film rights to Namor the Sub-Mariner in early 2000s licensing deals. This is why Marvel Studios could use Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever but cannot produce a standalone Namor film without Universal. This is why we never got a Namor solo film or introduction to the character prior to Wakanda Forever. But it is because of the deal in making this movie that Universal got the rights to Namor.

Prey (2022)

Trivia: Towards the end of the film when Naru manages to shoot the Predator in the back of the head, at several points she is whistling. This is usually something the Comanche would never do as they believe whistling at night attracts spirits. But since the Predator is seen as a demon, it makes sense for her to use said whistling to lure it to her.

Prey (2022)

Trivia: The tall grass that Naru and her brother run through and try to hide in was actually planted by the film crew once they scouted and locked in the location. That way, when it was time to start filming, the grass would be the height it needed to be.

Trivia: Naru's dog in Prey is named Sarii, which literally means "dog" in Comanche. While some viewers criticized the inclusion of a dog like this, it's historically accurate. The breed used is a Carolina Dog, also known as the "American Dingo." This ancient breed was present in North America long before European contact, making it a fitting companion for Naru.

Prey (2022)

Trivia: Prey was developed under the working title Skulls, intentionally obscuring its connection to the Predator franchise to maintain secrecy during early production. It wasn't until November 2020 that the project was revealed to be a Predator installment, something the filmmakers had initially hoped to avoid in promotion.

Prey (2022)

Prey trivia picture

Trivia: The character of Billy from the original Predator was a major inspiration for Prey. Beyond both being Native American, the film includes nods like Naru's neck pouch, mirroring Billy's. The first Predator screenplay was also originally centred on a Native American protagonist before being rewritten, and director Dan Trachtenberg wanted to honour that by finally giving the franchise a full story led by one.

Prey (2022)

Trivia: This film rewrites Predator lore by changing the backstory of the flintlock pistol seen in Predator 2. In the 1996 Dark Horse comic Predator: 1718, the pistol originally belonged to pirate Raphael Adolini, who gave it to a Predator. But Prey retcons this, showing the weapon's true origin during the 1700s hunt with Naru, effectively decanonizing the comic's version. In this movie, Raphael Adolini is a translator for the French poachers and gives the pistol to Naru and shows her how to use it in exchange for her saving him.

Prey (2022)

Trivia: The success of this film, despite being released on Hulu, is what led to the decision to release Alien: Romulus in theaters instead of also direct to streaming on Hulu. This led to that movie being a runaway success and a revival of both the Predator and Alien franchises.
