Trivia: On Her Majesty's Secret Service features some of the series' best ski action, filmed by Willy Bogner Jr, who returned for three Roger Moore films starting with The Spy Who Loved Me. That film's legendary ski jump stunt was reportedly first suggested by George Lazenby during Majesty's, but the production lacked resources to attempt it. Producer Michael G. Wilson later credited a magazine photo of skier Rick Sylvester as the inspiration, though both accounts may be true.

Goldeneye 007

Trivia: At one point in early development, there was a plan to have the players reload their weapons in-game by simulating the action in real life, by removing and reinserting the rumble pack from the N64 controller. This was, fortunately, scrapped but could have served as a fun novelty.

Casino Royale (1967)

Casino Royale trivia picture

Trivia: Before Patrick Macnee's John Steed became the face of The Avengers, the show's original lead was Ian Hendry as Dr. David Keel. Hendry also appeared in Casino Royale (1967), but nearly all his scenes were cut. His only surviving moment is as the corpse Vesper throws down the chute. It's a meta gag: the original Avengers star literally discarded in a Bond spoof. The Avengers debuted over a year before Dr. No, kicking off the 60s spy craze.

Casino Royale (1967)

Trivia: When Ian Fleming first wrote Casino Royale and many of the subsequent Bond books, he designed the character with the actor David Niven in mind. It wasn't until this movie in 1967, a spoof of Bond no less, that having David Niven as Bond would actually happen. And this was after Ian Fleming had died in 1964, so he never got to see this casting realised.

Suggested correction: Not quite correct. Fleming recommended Niven to play Bond in Doctor No, the first Bond feature film. However, Albert Broccoli thought Niven was too old for the role. Fleming wrote James Bond with several influences in mind: particularly actor Hoagie Carmichael for his appearance, and various servicemen he met during the Second World War for Bond's attitudes and abilities.

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire trivia picture

Trivia: The opening level of this game is a recreation of the Battle of Hoth, where you play as Dash in a snow speeder as part of Rogue Squadron taking down AT-ATs and AT-STs in that iconic battle. While the rest of the game got mixed reception, this opening level was a high point of reviews and reception to the game, so much so that the entirety of the game Star Wars: Rogue Squadron was inspired by and created just because of this first Hoth level, and subsequently Battle for Naboo on the N64 as well.

Trivia: Shadows of the Empire was almost a launch title for the N64 in September of 1996. However, it got delayed a couple of months to December. The game's development was a race against the clock, especially with the pressure of releasing a title near the Nintendo 64's debut. A postmortem by game developer Mark Haigh-Hutchinson described the extensive crunch time needed to meet the tight deadline. The delay was an attempt to alleviate this pressure and improve the final quality of the game after the somewhat disappointing public showing at E3 earlier in the year. The N64 version was ultimately released in December 1996, while the Windows version was released nearly a year later.

Trivia: Some people have questioned why a Wampa would be found on the planet Gall in this game, when Wampas are native to Hoth. "The cliff Wampa is actually the result of Imperial bioengineering. The Empire was so impressed by this powerful creature, who you'll remember did maul several of their vaunted stormtroopers on Hoth, that they managed to capture some and adapt them to various environments to be used almost like a vicious guard dog." - Game Director John Knoles.

The Punisher trivia picture

Trivia: When Frank Castle is in the jail cell, he has nightmares and flashbacks to his family before and during their execution at the hands of the mafia. In one of the shots, his daughters can be seen wearing Spider-Man pajamas when squirting water guns at him. This is a homage to the Punisher's very first appearance in 1979's comic, The Amazing Spider-Man #129, in spite of the director's desire to distance the movie from the comics as much as possible.
