Trivia: It is of popular belief that the stag music on ElecMan's level was inspired by the Journey song, "Faithfully" from their 1983 album called "Frontiers." The songs do indeed sound very similar, and are even played in the same key signature. However, nobody from Capcom USA or Japan has confirmed this to date. The song also has similarities to "All the Right Friends" by R.E.M.
Trivia: Rock, Roll and Dr. Right go unnamed throughout the whole game; they are only seen at the end. (Rock goes unnamed; NOT Rockman.) The Yellow Devil, the Copy Robot, and the seven CWU-01P(s) are also unnamed in the game, although the Copy Robot can just as well be referred to as MegaMan; it's an exact copy. Dr. Wily is the only part of his name given; there's no "Albert W." The weapons are not given names either. (M stands for Magnet, and P may stand for Power or Player.).
Trivia: During the time this game was in development, there was a large push for "Westernization" of Japanese game box arts. The cuteness of the character was thought not to be attractive to the eyes of the US public. That is also the reason for changing Rock to Mega, and Rockman to MegaMan. However, the designer of the was asked to make the box art for the US version of the game with little to no time before the game was actually released and never got to see any source material or the game. So he made a cover that had almost nothing to do with the game. The cover to this game is also rated one of the worst box art covers in video game history.
