Continuity mistake: As Dorothy stands in front of the Wicked Witch the ruby slippers are protruding over the step. In the next shot they are several inches back from the step. (01:16:50)

Continuity mistake: When the Wizard says, "Think yourselves lucky because I'm giving you an audience tomorrow instead of 20 years from now" his hand is on the silver lever on the floor. In the next shot they are above his head. (01:28:25)

Revealing mistake: The candles on the chandelier that fall on the guards are not real. If you look closely at them they're operated with gas. (01:24:50)

Continuity mistake: When Toto escapes, he runs up to the three putting the Scarecrow back together and the Tin Man has nothing in his left hand. In the next shot the ax appears in his hand. (01:19:40)

Continuity mistake: The Wicked Witch leaves Dorothy and runs to grab the hourglass. The mortar and pestle on the left of the hourglass disappear between shots. (01:17:50)

Other mistake: Before Becky and Miles go down the steps after leaving his office she says "I've been in Reno". The camera goes totally out of focus for a second right when she says, "Reno" the second time. (00:07:10)

Continuity mistake: As Miles walks from the train in the long shot he gets money from his pocket with his right hand and is carrying his coat with his left. In the close-up we see he's holding the coat differently and has the money in his left hand. (00:02:50)

Continuity mistake: In the first shot of the movie there's an equipment shadow on the door of the police car as the policeman opens it. (00:01:30)

Continuity mistake: As Miles and Sally drive away from the train station her hand is resting on the passenger side window. In the very next shot her hand is by her side. (00:03:40)

Visible crew/equipment: As they drive there's a moving equipment reflection in the windshield by Miles' hat as Sally says "That fat traffic cop". (00:03:50)

Continuity mistake: Before the four go in to see the Wizard, and as they speak to him, Toto jumps from right to left between shots several times. (01:09:35)

Continuity mistake: As Dorothy balances on the pigsty Zeke feeds the pigs. The bucket he passes by on his right is smooth without any ridges on its sides and the bucket he picks up from the bench has a visible indentation about one inch below the rim. He empties the first bucket than picks up the second, which shouldn't have an indentation around it but does. (00:03:55)

Continuity mistake: When they first see the Emerald City Dorothy is holding the basket on her left arm. In the next shot it's in front of her in both hands. (00:54:40)

Continuity mistake: After they enter Oz the collar and scarf of the driver of the horse drawn carriage change between shots without being touched. (01:00:05)

Visible crew/equipment: As the door keeper tells them he will get them to the Wizard the camera shadow can be seen moving across the green door. (01:08:15)

Other mistake: A shiny snap on the Lion's left foot can be seen gleaming in the stage lights as he says, "I hope my strength holds out" on the side of the mountain. (01:20:05)

Continuity mistake: As the four go through the green doors to see the Wizard the hallway triples in length between shots. (01:08:40)

Continuity mistake: As Dorothy throws the water on the Wicked Witch the Tin Man goes from holding his ax in front of him to holding it close to his chest with the ax head sideways between shots. (01:26:20)

Continuity mistake: As they all leave the poppy field the artificial snow has been neatly swept off the Yellow Brick road, and all traces of the snow on the ground are gone in the next shot. (00:57:30)
