Continuity mistake: The pole that the Scarecrow was on moves out in front of the corn at the end of the scene as Dorothy and the Scarecrow run off and sing, "We're off to see the Wizard". (00:38:50)

Other mistake: In the poppy field the tin man has hardly any of that artificial snow on him because the asbestos used didn't stick to the metal like real snow. (00:56:55)

Continuity mistake: The basket that the monkey keeps Toto in is falling apart in the front as a piece of wicker can be seen dangling off of it. After Toto runs away the basket has been turned around and the piece of wicker is no longer there. (01:16:45)

Continuity mistake: When the Scarecrow sings, " In trouble or in pain" Dorothy grabs him and is holding her basket with her left hand. In the next shot the basket is on her forearm. (00:36:55)

Other mistake: In the shot after the Wicked Witch throws fire down at them they all look up at her in the wrong direction. (00:46:25)

Continuity mistake: When the Scarecrow says, "Won't you take me with you?" the straw from his right hand touches Dorothy's hair, but in the next shot his hand isn't even close to her. (00:38:30)

Continuity mistake: As they stand in the Wizard's balloon, Toto is looking at the Cowardly Lion. In the next shot he's growling at a cat. (01:34:45)

Continuity mistake: When they first meet the Tin Man, the Scarecrow is holding an apple in each hand. He drops the one in his right hand but the other one disappears when he reaches for the oil can. Later when they all walk away both apples, and the one that Dorothy dropped before, are gone. (00:44:05)

Continuity mistake: When the Scarecrow says, "You see, I can't even scare a crow" Toto is nowhere to be seen. Two seconds later he's sitting in Dorothy's lap. (00:36:15)

Continuity mistake: As the Wicked Witch says, "It's so kind of you to visit me in my loneliness" a red penknife is on the ledge to their left. In the next shot it disappears. (01:16:10)

Continuity mistake: When Dorothy walks up to the talking apple tree his arms are spread wide apart. In the next shot his left hand is pointing at the apple she picks. (00:39:30)

Continuity mistake: Before they meet the Cowardly Lion, Dorothy starts to say "Lions and Tigers and Bears" and the axe jumps from the Tin Man's left hand to his right between shots. (00:48:20)

Continuity mistake: As the Tin Man crowns the Cowardly Lion the flowers fall in one piece on the first step to their right. A few shots later we see this same spot again and even though no one has gone near them, the flowers have been moved. (01:06:15)

Continuity mistake: When the talking trees throw their apples the Scarecrow walks over to the right side of the Yellow Brick Road as he picks some up. In the next shot he's on the other side of the road picking up apples that weren't there in the previous shot. (00:40:20)

Continuity mistake: When the Scarecrow sings, "… my heart all full of pain" he puts both of his hands over his heart. In the next shot he's dancing and his arms are waiving. (00:36:55)

Audio problem: The Tin Man crowns the Cowardly Lion and he lip-synchs "Monarch of all I survey." His mouth doesn't move as he sings the word "Monarch." (01:05:55)

Continuity mistake: The Wicked Witch looks over at Dorothy and says, "I can't wait forever to get those shoes" and the metal hand she uses as a book mark rotates 90 degrees in her direction without being touched. (01:18:00)

Continuity mistake: The large pile of wood next to the house is entirely rearranged throughout the scene when the Wicked Witch throws fire down at them. (00:45:55 - 00:47:30)

Continuity mistake: In the first shot of them entering the forest before meeting the Cowardly Lion, Toto is nowhere to be seen. In the next shot he appears walking with them. He disappears again later when we first meet the lion. (00:48:00 - 00:49:10)

Visible crew/equipment: As Dorothy and the Scarecrow dance off and sing, "We're off to see the Wizard" moving spot lights and equipment shadows can be seen on the grass on the right of the Yellow Brick Road. (00:39:00)
