Speed (1994)

Corrected entry: When Jack and Harry find out where Howard Payne is in the building, Jack opens the elevator door and throws himself onto the cable, and Harry then follows. However, if you look up to where they came from, the elevator door is now closed. (00:18:20)

The-Immortal

Correction: If you look closely at a modern elevator for a while, you may notice that the doors sometimes close automatically, all by themselves. It's like magic.

I, Robot (2004)

Corrected entry: At the start of the film when Del and Calvin are in Dr Lanning's office, we see Del go to the window and pick up a book from a chair, if you notice the chair has no handles at the sides, yet the next time we see it, it has handles. (00:17:55)

The-Immortal

Correction: As Del picks up the book you can actually see part of the right side handle. It is just the camera angle and the fact that the handle has a 90 degree bend at the bottom that could make it look like the handle wasn't there.

Corrected entry: Near the beginning of the film when we see Miller in one of the rooms in the Whaling Station, he looks at his camera to set a timer on it to take a picture of himself. If you look closely on the camera's digital display it says 12/10/2004. Later on when the group arrive in the sacrificial chamber, the scientist with the video camera is talking with the woman with the short blonde hair, the shot goes to a view from the camera, it says 10/10/2004. (00:19:45 - 00:34:15)

The-Immortal

Correction: Demonstrating the fact that people don't always set the digital displays on their cameras properly.

Pearl Harbor (2001)

Corrected entry: At the start of the attack on Pearl Harbor there are large explosions and noise which makes Danny and Rafe wake up suddenly, but why are there a shot of sailors fishing like nothing's going on around them? (01:25:15)

The-Immortal

Correction: They are not woken up by the explosions, they are woken up by the airplanes flying so near them. They even comment on "practicing this early on a Sunday" - practice does not involve blowing things up.

Blade II (2002)

Corrected entry: At the beginning, when Blade catches one of the vampires and asks him where they took him, the helmet that the vampire is wearing already has a crack in it, so it's a lot easier to break. (00:08:05)

The-Immortal

Correction: How is this a mistake? The vampire was just in a motorcycle accident and was thrown several meters. It's perfectly reasonable his helmet would be damaged.

Spider-Man 2 (2004)

Corrected entry: When Spiderman loses his powers, he falls from the building having just tried to climb up, and grabs a newspaper. In this shot he still has his gloves on, but when he grabs the paper and focuses his gloves are off. (00:56:50)

The-Immortal

Correction: This is not a mistake, this is a transition from the alley to Peter's apartment when he does not have his costume on. You see it from his point of view, as he holds it then throws it, then it cuts to a wideshot of his apartment.

Gladiator (2000)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the film when the soldiers get told to "ignite" as in light their arrows, for a second before it cuts away you can actually see some aren't lit, and the camera quickly goes to a far away shot. (00:07:40)

The-Immortal

Correction: I don't see why this is a mistake. It's perfectly realistic that some arrows just won't ignite. The archers will then fire them unlit, because they don't have all day to wait for them to catch the fire.

I, Robot (2004)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the film when Del turns on his CD player, it lights up blue as you can see, but a few shots later with the music still playing, if you look behind him at the CD player its now off. (00:02:20 - 00:02:55)

The-Immortal

Correction: When he turns the CD player on, it lights up so he can see the display, to decide if he wants to switch tracks, change volume, etc. After perhaps 30 seconds of no activity, the light shuts off. Both my cellphone and my car do this.

Corrected entry: When Miyagi returns home and Chozen orders his friends to attack, a few shots later Miyagi catches Daniel when Chozen throws him in Miyagi's direction, and Miyagi helps Daniel to the ground twice. (Slow-mo is required.) (01:17:05)

The-Immortal

Correction: If something requires slow motion to view, it is invalidated as per the rules of this site, unless it is something such as a crew member or equipment in frames.

Above the Law (1988)

Corrected entry: When Nico and Nelson Fox are in the parking lot with the bad guys, Nelson shoots one of them in the leg and he moves from the front of the car to the side of the car between shots. Also the headlights turn on and off between shots. (Slow-mo is required.) (01:22:50)

The-Immortal

Correction: If the use of slow motion is required, it is not valid as a movie mistake.

Joy Ride (2001)

Corrected entry: When Lewis And Fuller pull up at the motel both of the headlights are working, but when the man reverses his car, in the long shot, the left front headlight is out. (00:15:15 - 00:16:35)

The-Immortal

Correction: Not so. The grille and lights of the Newport are recessed into the front of the car. The shot mentioned shows the car from far to the car's left so that the left light isn't visible (blocked by the car's fender/bumper). However, the glow of this headlight is quite obviously showing that it is working. No mistake.

Joy Ride (2001)

Corrected entry: When Fuller decides to get rid of the CB radio, he chucks it out the window, you can see a road guard, that was not there in previous shots. (00:46:10)

The-Immortal

Correction: The guard rail is lower than the height of the car door, so it can't be seen from inside the car at the angle used, and our view is from inside the car for at least 20 seconds before the exterior shot - plenty of time for the rail to start.

Joy Ride (2001)

Corrected entry: Close to the end when Fuller is hotwiring the Ford, the guy who offers to help, comes up to the truck, and Lewis is talking to him, in a far away shot, you see Lewis look at Fuller when the truck starts, then it cuts to a shot inside the truck and Lewis looks at Fuller again. (01:14:15)

The-Immortal

Correction: Lewis repeatedly turns from Fuller to the bystander over and over, and there is a close-up shot of Fuller twisting the wires together that is long enough for Lewis' head to turn back to the bystander in time for us to see him to turn to Fuller again. No mistake.

Joy Ride (2001)

Corrected entry: Just after the ice truck gets smashed through by Rusty Nail, you can see Lewis and Fuller zoom away in their car. Rusty Nail's truck passes under the wooden frame with ease, but in the following shot when Fuller looks behind, you can see the truck destroy the wooden frame. (00:41:15)

The-Immortal

Correction: Not so. The earlier shot shows that the tractor passes under the frame, and the frame becomes obscured somewhat by the exhaust smoke, but just before the shot ends, the frame is hit by the forward edge of the trailer. Then the shot changes twice and we then see the frame coming apart due to this hit. No error.

The Matrix (1999)

Corrected entry: When we see Trinity kick a cop and that cop falls into another cop, then they both hit the wall, if you slow it down, you can actually see they hit the wall twice. (00:02:55)

The-Immortal

Correction: The necessary use of slow motion invalidates mistakes such as these, unless the frames reveal something such as a crewmember in shot.

The Matrix (1999)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the film when Trinity sees the telephone box, there is a large lamp-post that she runs past, yet when you slow it down, she's in line with the post not in front of it from the previous shot, also if you pause it or slow it down, you can actually see that the path she just run down has shortened somewhat. (00:05:10)

The-Immortal

Correction: The necessary use of slow motion invalidates mistakes such as these, unless the frames reveal something such as a crewmember in shot.

The Matrix (1999)

Corrected entry: At the very beginning of the film when we see Trinity kick the chair at a cop, it knocks him back a bit and the chair falls to the ground, yet when the scene cuts to a different cop who is just about to fire upon Trinity if you pause or slow it down you can again see the chair flipping over and heading towards this second cop. (00:03:00)

The-Immortal

Correction: The necessary use of slow motion invalidates mistakes such as these, unless the frames reveal something such as a crewmember in shot.

After the Sunset (2004)

Corrected entry: The Diamond that gets stolen by Max on the cruise ship, has a pointed bottom, but when Stanley is holding it in the limo, it is a perfect rectangular shape. (01:13:25 - 01:26:55)

The-Immortal

Correction: In the limo we don't see the bottom of the diamond. And it has the same shape and also the same facets as when Max is holding it in the ventilation shaft.

The Karate Kid (1984)

Corrected entry: When Daniel and Mr Miyagi go to visit the Kobra Kai, if you notice the student who gets thrown down by the Sensei is the last of the students in that line on the far right, yet on the far away shot, there is a gap where he used to be. (00:46:30)

The-Immortal

Correction: The position is vacant because the student has moved to the left side of the wide angle shot to do his push-ups (as instructed in the scene before).

21st Aug 2005

Troy (2004)

Corrected entry: In the middle of the film when Achilles has killed Hector, he falls to the ground, and if you look behind him when he's on the ground, the castle wall can be seen, therefore signifying that he fell at the wall, yet on all other shots he is quite some distance from the castle wall. (01:56:55)

The-Immortal

Correction: There is absolutely no continuity error regarding the proximity of the city's vast wall behind and to the sides of Hector.
