Pearl Harbor (2001)

Corrected entry: When Danny and Evelyn are in a cafe and Danny is telling Evelyn what Rafe and Danny did as kids, the position of Evelyn's hands keeps changing. (00:51:30)

The-Immortal

Correction: That's probably becuase she keeps moving them. If it's between shots it should be stated, along with some more specific info.

XIII

Corrected entry: In the opening shot when the camera pans towards to ship, note there is no large plank holding a sail, yet when we see Elizabeth and you look in the background, a plank and sail has suddenly appeared. (00:25:00 - 00:50:00)

The-Immortal

Correction: In the opening shot of the film, just as it starts panning in on Dauntless in the foggy mist, the spritsail yard - with its furled spiritsail (the "large plank holding a sail"), IS visible in front of the fore-mast sail, directly above the ship's prominent figurehead, at the top of the screen. Much of the length of the bowspirit - from which the spritsail yard hangs, is blocked from view by the figurehead, as the shot is angled up, however, in the following shots on forward deck the bowspirit is more visible (note the figurehead below it).

Gladiator (2000)

Corrected entry: When Commodus walks up the steps in Rome to meet the other men, on the far away shot, there are a lot of steps to go up, yet when we see Commodus pass Lucilla after a few steps, he is suddenly at the top with greetings from the men in white clothing. (00:57:40)

The-Immortal

Correction: Well, we could have watched Commodus climb up a lot of steps, but it would have been a bit boring. This is a standard editing technique to speed things up a bit - by no means a mistake.

Gladiator (2000)

Corrected entry: When Proximo is testing each slave, by giving them a wooden sword, they practice with a bigger slave. After each fight, Proximo says either yellow or red. The black guy who fights gets a red mark, so does Maximus, yet in the Roman Province scene in the small arena, someone says put red with yellow, yet when Maximus and the black guy come out, they are both "red". (00:49:20 - 00:52:50)

The-Immortal

Correction: Maximus is never given a red mark - he refuses to fight in the testing, which (although we don't actually see Proximo state a colour) would certainly earn him a yellow mark, allowing him to be paired with the red-marked Juba. The yellow mark on his tunic can be seen very clearly on multiple occasions during the arena fight.

Tailkinker

Correction: After Barbossa slices Elizabeth's palm, in the first shot, he squeezes her hand closed so the blood stained medallion is tightly enclosed within her grasp, and as Barbossa grips her hand he turns her hand so it is palm side down, over the Aztec chest. It cuts to two shots of the pirates hooting and hollering - and we do not see Elizabeth's hand. Then in the fourth shot Barbossa holds Elizabeth's wrist, as he forces her to drop the medallion. There is plenty of time between the first and fourth shot for Barbossa to change his grip.

Super Grover

Corrected entry: Just after Elizabeth threatens to drop the gold coin into the sea, her body's direction changes in subsequent shots from turned at a side to facing the captain of the Black Pearl. (00:38:20)

The-Immortal

Correction: While Elizabeth's head faces Barbossa, the position of her body remains consistent within the shots, as she stands beside the guard rail holding the medallion over the water.

Super Grover

Corrected entry: In the middle of the film when we see Jack and Will looking over their new crew members, Jack gets to Annamaria, and when the camera looks at the ship it's side on, yet when it cuts back for another view of the ship a few shots later, it's pointing in Jack's direction for a perfect camera shot of the Interceptor. (00:59:55)

The-Immortal

Correction: When Jack begins to inspect their able-bodied crew in Tortuga, Interceptor is moored in the distance, on open choppy waters, and it visibly moves on the water. As Anamaria says, "I will!" the ship is seen, and four shots later when Interceptor is seen again, it is only a bit turned starboard as it bounces on the choppy waters in the following shots - it is certainly not "pointing in Jack's direction."

Super Grover

Corrected entry: When Elizabeth is on her way to the Black Pearl, the first shot we see is from behind the captain, and if you watch this scene closely you don't see anyone entering the main part of the ship from the right, but when it cuts to Elizabeth there is already the bald pirate on the ship, and Elizabeth is climbing over. (00:36:20)

The-Immortal

Correction: In the first shot, Elizabeth is still in the small boat between Pintel and Ragetti. As the next wide shot opens from bridge deck, the small boat is being hoisted by the pirates at starboard side down below and is still below deck rail, as the camera pans back behind Barbossa. In the next shot, the small boat is well above the rail as Ragetti and Elizabeth are at the top of the ladder and walk through the deck rail, while Pintel stands on deck. These three consecutive shots are deliberately cut to indicate time compression for the following: When the small boat pulls alongside the Black Pearl, Pintel, Ragetti and Elizabeth step out onto the ladder mounted on the Pearl's hull that leads to the deck. As they climb up, the boat is being hoisted up beside them, so that by the time they all reach the deck, the small boat hangs above them.

Speed (1994)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the film when Jack is talking to Howard Payne on the phone he hangs up and runs for 2 seconds, yet in the previous shot he ran quite a distance to catch up to the bus, this means he's very fast at running or someone moved his jeep further up the street. (00:29:30)

The-Immortal

Correction: He didn't run that far to reach the bus and he had to walk back to answer the ringing telephone.

The Matrix (1999)

Corrected entry: Just after the big lobby scene, you see Trinity and Neo enter the lift, look on the left wall and it says "Levels 40-82," yet when Neo stops the elevator, he stops it at 41, but the elevator drops a lot further than one floor. (01:39:50 - 01:40:20)

The-Immortal

Correction: As they enter the building on the level where they enter the lift, it's pretty clear that they're not on the 40th floor at the time. That lift is simply designated for use to reach the upper floors from the ground floor. Thus they enter at ground level, take the lift up to floor 41 (halfway between the ground floor and the roof) where they exit, then the lift drops back down that same distance.

X-Men (2000)

Corrected entry: At the beginning of the film when the owner of the bar is holding a shotgun to Wolverine's head, if you look at it closely, the shotgun turns from black to silver between shots. (00:12:55)

The-Immortal

Correction: I've viewed this scene countless times. The shotgun NEVER changes colour. The lighting reflecting off the shotgun changes slightly but the shotgun is always black.

Spider-Man 2 (2004)

Corrected entry: When Peter is on his way to see MJ in the beginning the police are chasing two bad guys. When the bad guys shoot at the police car, it swerves. The following shot we see from the perspective of the other police car it swerves again. (00:23:55)

The-Immortal

Correction: It's not highly unusual for a car to swerve more than once during a car chase.

Vertical Limit (2000)

Corrected entry: In the middle of the film when we see Cyril throw down a rope to Monique, then they both hear the avalanche, instead of being killed by the approaching avalanche, why didn't he just grab ahold of the rope, and quickly slide down the side of the mountain? He had sufficient time to do this. (01:17:40)

The-Immortal

Correction: What a movie character "could have", "would have" or "should have" done are not movie mistakes. Cyril froze when he saw the approaching avalanche. People have been known to "freeze up" for all kind of incidents (like after a minor car accident OR after receiving bad news). Not everyone can think clearly during such a life threatening situation and know what is the "best" thing to do.

XIII

Corrected entry: Close to the beginning, when Lex, Sebastian, and Miller are talking on the side of the boat, the life preserver in the background keeps changing from left of the hatch to the right. (00:11:00)

The-Immortal

Correction: No, if you look closely the life preserver is left to the hatch with the writing "Cabins 7-14" above it. Then you see the life preserver to the right of the hatch with the writing "Cabins 15-21" above it.

The Italian Job (2003)

Corrected entry: In a deleted scene entitled "Left Ear gets stuck in traffic", you can see the steel tow rope wire attached to the car, obviously making it jerk about.

The-Immortal

Correction: Deleted scenes are often presented 'as filmed' - i.e. without special effects and so on. Had the scene made it into the film, the wire would have been digitally removed, but there would be no point in spending money on a scene that wasn't to be included in the final version of the film. As such, this cannot be considered a mistake.
