Continuity mistake: When Norma and Helen are in the salon, and they are talking about Carrie going to the prom with Tommy, Norma is getting a fancy hairdo done for the prom. But in the next gym scene, she has her plain braids and a cap on. (00:48:20)Hamster
Continuity mistake: During the scene when Torpedo Eight squadron is slaughtered during its attack on Nagumo's carriers, Ensign George Gay's aircraft changes appearance several times. This is due to the different snippets of wartime footage being cobbled together. When the squadron commences its attack, his plane is a Vindicator. When his plane is the last one left, it has changed into an SBD Dauntless. When Gay's plane has been hit and is diving towards the sea, it has become an Avenger. Finally, when his aircraft hits the water, it has become a Hellcat.
Continuity mistake: When Travis is with the gun salesman, he is trying out the black gun. You see a close up shot of him holding the gun with his arm outstretched with his jacket on. In the very next shot (no time has elapsed) his arms are at his side and his jacket is now completely off. (00:56:50)
Continuity mistake: In the shot where Boris, Annabelle (as Ellen) and Ben are in the car , and turn left in front of a lorry you see a police car next to the pavement (not the ones that have fallen of the lorry) and it is parked underneath a sign. After you see Boris etc. again in the car, they are parked further back than before.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Cannonball is driving the Mustang and Redman is driving the Charger through the incomplete Interstate, they begin bashing each others' cars to bits. Several shots show the badly damaged cars and the results of the multiple hits taken. However, when we are shown the cars just before the bridge jump sequence, neither car appears damaged.
Continuity mistake: The scene in the film that follows Berstein's interview with the book-keeper, where he is getting all his notes on various bits of paper out of his pockets: there is a Life magazine on the desk in front of Woodward's typewriter. At the start of the shot where Berstein says: "Mitchell, she said something about Mitchell." the mag has gone, then it reappears and disappears randomly in the subsequent shots in this scene.
