The Quick and the Dead picture

Continuity mistake: When Sharon Stone confronts Gene Hackman at the end, she throws the marshal star at his feet. It is an inch or two in front of his boots. After he is shot, he gets flung backwards several feet. Stone then picks the star up and throws it to Russell Crowe. She picks it up from behind Hackman's body, several feet away from where it landed but still sticking out of the sand the same way.

Hombre picture

Plot hole: Towards the end of the film when Newman and the remaining stagecoach people are in the cabin at the top of the hill, Richard Boone's character sends one of his two henchman (the Anglo, not the Mexican) around to the back of the cabin to apparently surprise them from behind. Then Newman's character walks down the hill and Boone and the Mexican henchman are all killed in a shootout. Everyone comes out of the cabin, comes down the hill and the credits roll. I guess that now, almost 40 years later, that poor Anglo-henchman is still behind the cabin, waiting for them to come out.

Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid picture

Factual error: Near the end of the film Butch is complaining about the living conditions they have to endure - jungles, swamps, snakes, night work - and Sundance sarcastically retorts "Bitch, bitch, bitch!" In 1908 the term meant just what it literally means: "Female dog." It did not adopt its current meaning of "complain" until much later. At the time the film is set - outside the context of "female dog" - it was considered to be a serious obscenity, and it would not have been used to describe something as ordinary as someone moaning about his living conditions.

3:10 to Yuma picture

Continuity mistake: After Evans was shot near the end of the movie, Ben Wade jumped out of the train to look at him. If you look over Wade's shoulder, you will see that Nez (the Apache) had already arrived at his spot, and Campos (the Mexican sharpshooter) threw Wade's gun belt to Charlie Prince. After the movie cut a couple of times, Nez was shown walking up, throwing Wade's gun belt to Campos, who then threw it to Charlie Prince.

For a Few Dollars More picture

Revealing mistake: After Manco beats up Cavanaugh and places Cavanaugh's back up against the bar, while Manco faces him, three of Cavanaugh's henchmen appear at the entrance of the bar demanding that Cavanaugh be released. Manco turns around and kills all of them with his pistol, while Cavanaugh falls to the floor crawling toward his gun. Manco is walking toward the entrance of the saloon with his back to Cavanaugh. Manco draws his gun and kills Cavanaugh without looking at him. If you look closely at the tip end of the pistol, you can see that the only thing that Manco would have killed was the saloon floor. Lone Star picture

Factual error: We learn that the previous sheriff, Charlie Wade, took revenge on anyone who smuggled illegal immigrants across the border in the late 1950s - we are shown the smuggling, as Eladio Cruz hides a group of Mexican men in a watermelon truck to take them across the border. However, in the 1950s, the border was not fortified the way it is now - the smuggling shown would simply not have been necessary.

Lightning Jack picture

Continuity mistake: After Jack's second horse never comes back, neither do Ben's shoes. Were they with the horse that we don't know what happened to?

Suggested correction: The shoes are purposely removed and never seen again, as is the horse, by Jack. This is mentioned by the Indian tracking them.
