Continuity mistake: When Frankie is about to receive the first stigmata (when sitting in the bath), a pigeon suddenly flies up. When she takes a piece of a feather that flew into the water, you can already see stigmata marks on her right-hand wrists.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Eddie Murphy is going into the crypt, he takes one of the lit torches. While they are trying to escape the skeletons, the door to the crypt closes and locks. When they show the shot of his son outside, you see two torches again. When he gets the doors open and they leave, you see one.
Continuity mistake: When they are all outside and MacReady has separated the three most likely suspects and orders that they be tied down and tested, he comments at that time that they are to be hit by a storm in six hours. Cut to the scene where Mac is dictating into his recorder and he comments that the storm has been hitting them hard for 48 hours. However it is the same night and at best, maybe only an hour has passed.
Continuity mistake: Just before Amanda shoots Lynn her gun switches from her right hand to her left.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Thora Birch's character goes to a café with her psychologist, the psychologist takes a bite of a cake and puts it back on the table. In the next scene, the cake has not been touched.
Continuity mistake: When Billy is holding logs still for George to chop, the second log he puts on the stump is stripped of any bark. But when George swings down to chop it, the log is suddenly covered in bark. (00:50:45)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Dr. Grant gets rescued by the kid and they are sitting in the water tank (truck) eating candy bars they show the kid eating a "Crunch" bar with no wrapper, just in the tin foil. In the next shot you see him eating the same candy bar but the "Crunch" wrapper is now on, then in the third shot it cuts back to the kid and the wrapper is gone and you only see tin foil again. Continuity mistake: In House of 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects Captain Spaulding had nasty crooked black teeth. In the beginning of this film when he's doing an interview his teeth are super white and straight.
Continuity mistake: When everyone is running out of the theater, a woman with a red belt and yellow purse can be seen exiting with the other terrified patrons. A few seconds later, the exact same woman is seen running out of the theater again.
Continuity mistake: Mrs. Strode's shoes change when she comes in the house from cleaning the porch and goes downstairs.
Continuity mistake: When Paxton & Kana escape the factory by stealing a car, he checks his rear-view mirror to see the car pursuing him - the road has a dividing dashed white line on it. When the angle changes to see them driving away from the camera, there is no line on the road. Approx. time code 1:20:00.
Continuity mistake: Just before Steve Hadley is killed by the Merman, his tie is wrapped around his neck. When the Merman attacks him, his tie is worn properly. (01:19:40)

Continuity mistake: Opening scene where Chris Sarandon is chasing Brad Dourif into the toy store. During the gunfight, Sarandon has gloves on. As he enters the store he is wearing gloves. The next shot, the gloves are off. The next scene, the gloves are back on and he takes them off by biting the fingertips and pulling them off. (00:01:50)
Continuity mistake: Just after the doctor started the post mortem on that little girl, the front of his gown is covered with blood. Yet, a few seconds later, after the two other guys appear, his gown looks better, with less blood. And during the whole post mortem scene, the blood spot actually changes its size a few times.
