Factual error: When Morty is showing Michael how to use the remote, Michael rewinds to a family vacation in 1976. A childhood friend of his invites everyone over to his parents' RV to watch Three's Company. Three's Company didn't premiere until 1977.
Suggested correction: Although technically this is true, ironically there WERE two pilots for Three's Company filmed in 1976 with some similar and some different cast members, which may or may not of actually aired at the time after being filmed. The 3rd and final pilot with the familiar cast got the show finally rolling in 1977. So the mistake stands, but it could be a bit iffy based on this info.
This mistake does not need correction. This is just trivia that does not impact the mistake. Both pilots were unaired, so they couldn't have watched it on TV. Additionally, this was his summer vacation and the first pilot was taped in May and the second one was taped in November.
Factual error: There is a scene with several flags hanging on the wall of the castle. These are supposed to be flags in the Middle Ages. However, one of them is the present day banner of the Hungarian Republic (where part of the movie was shot).
Factual error: Outside Seville, Cruise jumps off a bridge on a stall with a sign that reads "Especial en sardines". This is senseless text. The correct spelling should be "Especialidad en sardinas".
Factual error: In the second-to-last scene, Rachel is leaving Singapore for New York. Nick goes onboard to propose and convinces her to stay in Singapore for one more night. However, this is not possible in Singapore due to strict laws which state that those who enter the departure area must have a boarding pass and intend to leave the country. Those who have a boarding pass but no intention to depart will be prosecuted. In 2018, 40 people were arrested for various offenses, such as sending a friend off or meeting their idols.
Suggested correction: Nick's family is extremely rich, powerful and famous in Singapore. That might have been enough to get him special treatment or an exception to the rule.
Factual error: At the end of the movie, Effie comes out with two AA-12s. As she fires these guns, they have the sound, effects, and firing pattern of an assault rifle. These two guns are shotguns, not machine guns. (01:13:00)

Factual error: In one of the first major scenes where Matt Franklin and Tori Frederking are being introduced at the rental store - there is a shot where you can see the entrance of the store, and there is an electronic article surveillance detector on either side of the entrance to the store. This technology for use in a video rental store (for VHS tapes) did not exist in the 1980s.
Factual error: When Hooker comes out of the diner there is a billboard advertisement to the right. It is for Ezra Brooks bourbon. Ezra Brooks brand wasn't created until 1957.

Factual error: When Tom calls Hannah from New York (and she is in Scotland) there is still bright daylight in New York. When Hannah answers she says it is 3am in Scotland. With a time difference of only 5 hours, this would mean it would be 10pm in New York and therefore dark.
Factual error: At the start in 1989, when Mike is dancing with the cheerleaders and also just before he goes after Scarlet, in close-ups of the crowd cheering there is a man (with a white baseball cap) wearing a Paramore t-shirt. Factual error: At a stop on the Niger River, before they arrived in Mali, Dirk tells Dr. Rojas of "the angel wing clam" and calls them "Petricola Pholadiformis" and says that "this river is the only place on the earth they are found." Three problems: First, Petricola Pholadiformis are actually called "False angel wing" and are found many places in the world in fresh water (but seldom in the Niger River). Second, what's known as the "Angel wing" shell (no "false" in its name) has "Cyrtopleura Costata" as its scientific name. Cyrtopleura Costata ("Angel wing") is found in salt water. Third, Dirk also said they "glow in the dark"; some varieties of Cyrtopleura Costata shells will glow if exposed to ultraviolet light but none glow from their own internal source. Petricola Pholadiformis shells don't glow at all.
