Continuity mistake: After Pongo spots Anita and Perdita walking towards the park, Pongo moves the time forward on the clock and he leaves the dial's hinged bezel open as he rushes to the door and barks, but when Roger checks the time on the clock the bezel is closed. (00:06:20)
Continuity mistake: There's an electrical outlet on the wall below the window (aligned with the window shade's loop) in Sid's room near the Megadork poster, but when Sid throws Woody to the floor and raises the shade (before he scorches Woody's forehead with the magnifying glass), that outlet has vanished.
Continuity mistake: Sometimes Shrek's front door opens outwards, at other times inwards, yet it can't be "two-way" because whenever it closes, it slams against the frame. (00:10:55 - 00:13:45)
Continuity mistake: Rumpelstiltskin looks completely different in this movie than he did in the previous film Shrek The Third; Prince Charming momentarily talks to Rumpelstiltskin in the tavern during the third film, and the character looks completely different, has a different voice and different demeanor.
Continuity mistake: When Carlotta brings the plates for the meal they all have a dome cover with a top handle, but when Sebastian runs across the table those handles have changed. (00:54:50)
Continuity mistake: When the seven dwarves run scared down the stairs and out of the door, Dopey pulls the handle of the door from the inside until it breaks out and falls away. The next scene when the dwarf opens the door, the handle is there again. (00:33:00)
Continuity mistake: During Andy's daydream at the beginning of the film, Mr. Potato Head has an eye patch over his left eye. When the daydream cuts back to reality we see that Andy has removed Mr. Potato Head's left eye to symbolize the eye patch. Continuity mistake: There is a scene where the Chipmunks and Chipettes are singing the song "Girls of Rock and Roll." In that scene, it shows the boys walking up the stairs together and from left to right the order is: Simon, Alvin & Theodore. The shot goes to the girls then back to the guys. The order of the guys has switched: (left to right) Theodore, Alvin & Simon.
Continuity mistake: After Dory reads the wall map while she's in the glass carafe, when Hank hides behind the rolling cabinet there's a long shot of the corridor with him at the far wall, then in the next shot from behind Hank a drinking fountain has suddenly appeared on the wall to the left, between two pictures.
Continuity mistake: The tiger bites the seat off the suitor's trousers, allowing the viewer to see his polka-heart boxers. When we see the tiger in the courtyard, he has a part of the same boxer shorts in his mouth. So if he bit off the seat of the trousers, shouldn't he have purple cloth in his mouth? (00:11:45)
Continuity mistake: When Joaquin enter the bull fighting ring before Manolo's bull fight, Joaquin removes his cape and drops it on the ground. When Joaquin's horse gallops by and Joaquin grabs onto his steed, the cape is missing. (01:35:00)
Continuity mistake: When "Emperor" Moe appears in front of Marge, after she and the kids return, the two cartridge belts swung over Moe's shoulders switch from his left over the right, to his right over the left. (01:04:50)
Continuity mistake: In the 'Gaston' song sequence, near the end, Gaston is sitting in his huge antler chair with Lefou. In the wide shot, there is a bear rug behind the chair. The camera does a close up of Gaston, then in the next wide shot, the chair is on top of the bear rug. Also, after this, Gaston gets up off of the chair and in the next shot, both the chair and the rug disappear completely. (00:29:20)
Continuity mistake: When Mrs. Otterton is in Chief Bogo's office holding her family photo with both paws, in the wideshots her purse is hanging in the crook of her left arm, but after a brief shot of Judy, when it cuts to Mrs. Otterton's closeup as she tells Bogo about her two beautiful children her purse is gone, then after another brief shot of Judy the purse is back in its place again in the wideshot.
Continuity mistake: When Toad General calls for the council's attention and announces that Bowser found the Super Star, note his shirt buttons. Then, when he says that the Kongs will never agree because their mad king doesn't make alliances, Toad General's shirt is backwards, his buttons are on the opposite side. (00:24:55 - 00:25:35)
Continuity mistake: At Skull Rock, after the crocodile has nipped off a good bit of Hook's clothing, sock and shoe, when Hook rushes toward Smee in the boat the crocodile opens his mouth, and just as he swallows Hook he's nearly fully clothed and wearing both socks and both shoes.
Continuity mistake: The buttons on Amos Slade's shirt repeatedly change sides between shots throughout the movie. One example is while Copper and Tod are swimming, when Amos tells Chief that Copper has strayed off again, the buttons on Slade's shirt go from being on the left to being on the right, then back to the left again. Continuity mistake: When Moana is throwing sticks into the ground, after she starts singing, look back at that spot and all the thrown sticks have disappeared.
Continuity mistake: When Tom the Minion dressed as a maid is hoovering, he answers the front door by opening it towards him as does the minion who looks out of the door after Tom has been taken. In the scene with Gru sat on the steps in the rain, sad that Lucy is off to Australia, Agnes comes out with an umbrella, but now the door opens outwards.
Continuity mistake: When the WABAC machine is going through the time vortex, trying to escape from the black hole, some tiles get sucked off the WABAC, but in the next shot they are back on.
