Best animated movie character mistakes of all time
Character mistake: When Maui and Moana set sail after defeating the Kakamora, Maui says they must head east. He turns the boat 90° as he says this. Throughout the next scene the setting sun is to the left of them (providing a beautiful backdrop to their fight), meaning that the boat must be heading north, not east.
Character mistake: One of the top most taboo things for a super hero to do is reveal any aspect of another hero's identity to someone, especially a villain. But when Flash is trapped by the gray adhesive and the other Justice League members are about to take the villains away to disarm the bombs, Flash tells Green Lantern "Hal, go", calling Green Lantern by his first name right in front of Mirror Master.
Character mistake: During the race sign up scene, when each racer is throwing their coin into the gold cup as the entry fee, the announcer says Snowanna Rainbeau, and you can see a blue haired pig-tailed character just behind Rancis Fluggerbutter. This character is Citrusella Flugpucker, the 6th listed racer on the board, but she is announced as Jubileena Bing-Bing, who is listed 13th on the board. Jubileena Bing-Bing is the red pig-tailed racer, not the blue.
Character mistake: When Boris and Natasha (Jason Alexander and Renee Russo) are at the airport (just missing Rocky, Bullwinkle and the FBI agent) Natasha says something about "Moose and Squirrel don't even know our names", yet earlier in the courthouse scene, Bullwinkle says something about Boris and Natasha being real people and Rocky and Bullwinkle still being cartoons.
Character mistake: Baymax, a healthcare robot, says that his programming includes a database of 10,000 symptoms of disease. Yet, he issues the warning, "After eating, wait one hour before swimming." That warning, often given by parents to their children, has no basis in medical fact. People who do not get cramps after eating will not develop cramps by going swimming after eating: http://www.snopes.com/oldwives/hourwait.asp.
Character mistake: As the movie begins, a book opens up with various fairy tell things written in it. The name Cinderella is misspelled "Cincerella" on the second page, but is spelled correctly on the first page. It is also apparent that the second page just has some of the same text as on the first page.
Character mistake: At the beginning Sally follows Jack at the end of the Halloween celebration where he sings "Jack's Lament." She then goes off to gather more deadly nightshade. Look at Sally when she sits down. It is in front of a stone labeled "witch hazel" and "deadly nightshade" is seen next to it on the right. Yet, Sally pulls two pieces of witch hazel out of the ground, before a quick cut back to the lab where we see her putting it in a jar marked "nightshade".
Character mistake: After Gru tucks the girls in for the night, Dr. Nefario tells him that there are 48 hours until the rocket's scheduled launch. The rocket launch, then, should have taken place at night, around the time the girls go to bed, two days later. The rocket, however, launches during daylight hours.
Character mistake: When Cruise leaves to go deliver the package to the warehouse, Coupe says to Mr. V8, "Look at Cruise go. He'd make a great racer, wouldn't he?" Coupe is visibly looking annoyed when she is saying the line, as judged by the angry facial expression she is pulling, but there is no reason for he to be annoyed nor is she talking in an annoyed manner.
Character mistake: When Jimmy explains to the kids of the town where the aliens took their parents, he mentions the origin of the aliens being somewhere in the Orion Star System, 3 million light years away. The Orion system is way closer than that. It is actually less than 1400 light years away from Earth. 3 million light years away would place them further than the Andromeda Galaxy.
