The Parting of the Ways (2) - S1-E13
Corrected entry: In the part where Rose opens up the TARDIS as she flies away, Mickey and Jackie's clothes move in the wind coming off the TARDIS, but the trees around them are still.
Corrected entry: In the final scene, where the Doctor and Clara are entering the TARDIS, you can see that the inside of the TARDIS has not been animated and shows just the bare metal walls of the TARDIS prop.
Correction: That's not the wall of the prop, it's part of the console room. The Twelfth Doctor's console room has a sort of archway at the entrance, with walls around the door, which is what is actually being seen here. In fact, it's almost certain that that design choice was made precisely to reduce potential incidents of the prop's interior being seen.
The Christmas Invasion - S2-E2
Corrected entry: The Sycorax begin speaking English for all of the humans because the TARDIS is suddenly activated when the Doctor wakes up. However, it is stated elsewhere in the series that the TARDIS only translates for those who have been in the TARDIS, which Harriet and her translator haven't.
Correction: The TARDIS translates for anyone the Doctor wants it to, including not only companions but people that he and his companions are dealing with.
Corrected entry: Hitler is depicted as right-handed, most noticeably when he pulls out his gun to shoot at the Teselecta. In reality, he was left-handed.
Correction: Rubbish. As already corrected for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, there are many pictures of him signing documents with his right hand.
Corrected entry: After the TARDIS sets down on the planet, the Doctor rushes to and opens the door to see where they are, and doesn't have his brown coat on. A second later, he emerges with his overcoat on.
Correction: We don't actually see him open the door, we see him running for the door. He could very easily have grabbed his coat from where he always leaves it and put it on before opening the door.
Corrected entry: The intro scene shows the thief hanging from the skylight trying to steal a gem. She escapes where she came in and yet the next scene shows her walking inside the museum. This scene doesn't make sense because she already had an effortless exit on the rooftop.
Correction: She wasn't on the roof, she was on an upper floor of the museum. She was stealing a large golden cup, not a gem. She did not enter through a skylight, either, but a hatch at the top of the dome.
Corrected entry: When the cupboard is drawing the Doctor and Alex in, the crane and the table it's on falls over. But when the cupboard door closes, the table and crane are back in place.
Correction: The entire bedroom is restored to normal after the wardrobe shuts because of the reality-warping alien child. It's not a mistake.
Corrected entry: The Weeping Angels move across a busy street with dozens of people around looking, yet later on they can't get across a couple of meters in two minutes with only Larry and Sally looking.
Correction: The Angels were moving above the street level. How many people look up on a regular basis, especially when it's raining as it was in the scene?
Corrected entry: Toby is seen crashing headfirst out of the ship but in the shot of his death, he is facing the ship.
Correction: Toby/The Beast turned around. It's even visible.
The Sound of Drums (2) - S3-E12
Continuity mistake: When the Master stands up on the Valiant to announce that he is the Toclafane's "Master", President Winters is visible in the background, only the Toclafane aren't there. In the next shot, they return, buzzing around Winters' head.
Suggested correction: This seems to be caused by angles - the Toclafane are floating fairly high up, around the level of Winters' shoulders and above, but the Master is lower down. Hence, why they're not visible in the shot.
Corrected entry: The episode is set in 2049. The lead astronaut mentions that her grandmother used to use the social media and blogging site Tumblr, in a fashion suggesting that the site is by this time a thing of the past, much like slide rules now. However, she is played by an actress who is at least in her late forties, meaning that if you do the math, her character would be more than old enough to have used Tumblr herself.
Correction: The implication may be that much like Facebook now, it's something the older generation uses whereas the younger ones have already ditched it in favour of something else.
Correction: In addition to the implication, you're also assuming Lundvick is as old as the actor playing her. She could in fact be in her mid-30's (or younger). Plus, this episode aired in 2014, and while we know Tumblr continued to be widely used afterwards, it could have no longer been popular by the time Lundvick was old enough to use it in 2015 (perhaps her parents didn't want her using it until she was a teenager, if she is in fact 47 in 2049).
Corrected entry: The image of an angel becomes itself an angel. Sally sparrow hands the doctor a folder with pictures of weeping angels that don't/haven't turned into weeping angels.
Correction: The idea that Weeping Angels reproduced by projecting themselves out of images was invented for the season 5 two-parter "The Time of Angels"/"Flesh and Stone", their second appearance. In that story, the Doctor refers to the "Blink" Angels as "scavengers", implying that they weren't powerful enough to be able to affect the images.
Plot hole: The Doctor leaves Martha a recording with instructions for her for when he's human. However, the flashbacks to the incident that led to him using the Chameleon Arch don't leave enough - or any - time for him to have made the recording, presenting his decision to use the device as a spur-of-the-moment one that he immediately acts upon.
Suggested correction: He would have been planning the change to human for a while now, not just made it up on the fly. So he could have made a recording before the opening scene.
The episode makes it pretty clear that he and Martha got taken by surprise by the Family's attack. The Doctor also explicitly says, when he gets out the Chameleon Arch headset, that he never thought he'd use it. The flashbacks consistently present his decision to become human as one made as an urgent, in the moment one.
The Day of the Doctor - S7-E16
Deliberate mistake: Looking closely at the floor of Eleven's console room reveals that the part of the floor around the console facing the door has been discreetly raised up, which it isn't in any other appearance of this console room, so that Clara can ride her motorcyle inside it without going down two steps. This wasn't in any previous episode and is gone in the next one.
Suggested correction: The Tardis has constantly shown it can change its internal structure to fit its needs or desires.
Revealing mistake: In the opening scene the Doctor and Donna are speaking over the phone. The purple phone Donna is holding shows the slot where a cable should be plugged in, but there is none. (00:00:25)
Suggested correction: This shouldn't be considered a mistake. While it's true in real life this phone has a slot for a cable, they're on an alien planet and this is unknown technology. In-universe there's no way of knowing what that slot is for, and there's no reason to think the phone needs to be plugged into anything.
Rise of the Cybermen (1) - S2-E8
Other mistake: Alternate Jackie is said to be turning 40. According to a newspaper Mickey finds early in the episode, the parallel universe is in the same year as the main universe. When Jackie's age (she claims to be only turning 39) is announced at the party, Rose does not in any way react as though that's different from the age of main-universe Jackie. The problem is that, given that Rose was 19 when she met the Doctor, and it has been, for main Jackie and Mickey, likely at least two years since the events of "Rose" (remember Rose's one-year accidental disappearance), this means Jackie would have had to have gotten married, and had Rose, before she turned twenty, and been a widow by the time she was twenty. Given that Jackie is from the UK, a first-world country, and that she seems to be in her twenties in "Father's Day", this is highly unlikely.
Suggested correction: "Highly unlikely" is not impossible, there are many cases of this sort of thing happening even in the age of contraceptives. The episode is also set during the 80's, so it's possible that Pete and Jackie were misinformed. There are other TV shows such as Raising Hope or Bump that use this as a major plot point - hell, the very next episode after Fathers Day features an approximately 12-year-old mother in the form of Nancy, the 17-year old mother of antagonist Jamie.
Factual error: Near the end of the episode, the full moon is shown in the daytime sky, well above the horizon. This is impossible, as any celestial body lit by the Sun has its full phase only when it is directly opposite the Sun; thus, a full Moon rises at sunset and sits high in the sky only during the night. For the Moon to be in the sky during the day as shown, it would have to be visibly of a phase other than full.
Suggested correction: The moon is not actually completely full. It's in a gibbous phase (opposite of a crescent), which can indeed be seen in the daytime.
The Bells of Saint John - S7-E8
Corrected entry: When the Doctor and Clara are on the motorbike, Clara says her first line without moving her lips.
Correction: Rewatching the episode, not actually the case.
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Rory pushes a Dalek backwards it has ear lights but in the next shot it doesn't.
Suggested correction: The close-up shot of the Dalek just as Rory pushes it is positioned such that the ear lights, and the place where they're mounted, isn't visible anyway.
Correction: No, they're not. It's more subtle than Mickey's coat and Jackie's hair, but if you look the trees are moving in the wind.
