CSI: Miami

Show generally

Corrected entry: In Episode "Broken Home," Natalie and Ryan ask Dave Montavo if they can have a DNA sample. They would have already had his DNA from when they did the blood alcohol level test to check why they passed out in the car.

Boobra

Correction: By law, they still would have to get his permission to use his blood for DNA since the blood was taken for a blood alcohol level.

Show generally

Corrected entry: In episode Broken Home, the drinking glasses collected from the party home after the caterer picked them up still have alcohol in the bottom. The liquid would have dried overnight if it wasn't spilled out by the caterer collecting the glasses. No one would transport glassess full of liquid.

Boobra

Correction: The liquid in the glasses is the sterile water used in the lab. Residue would still be on the glasses and Boa Vista would have used sterile water to be able to test for drugs etc.

Show generally

Corrected entry: In the episode with the airplane murder there are two big mistakes. One, they claim that oil is heavier than water, which isn't true under any circumstances. Second, they claim that keying the airplane is sending a big message to the owner. Personally, as a pilot, I have never heard of someone keying an airplane. It's a pointless gesture that not many are even going to notice, unless they're obsessive.

Correction: Oil is heavier than water. It is the density of the oil that makes it float on the top of the water. Also, these people are obsessive of their planes, that is why keying it was so personal to them.

Show generally

Corrected entry: Although the show takes place in Miami, very little of it is actually filmed here, most in done at Manhattan Beach, a suburb of Los Angeles in California. This is most evident when they have a beach scene. The large waves that you see on the beach are from the Pacific ocean. The waves in Miami are very small and nowhere near as large.

Correction: Actully I have been near Miami beach where alot of surfers like to ride these kinda waves, the further you go out the bigger they can get, and on some days like days with alot of wind they can reach "California" scale waves.
