Continuity mistake: In "Time and Punishment", when Homer returns to the basement after his first time travel, there is a scorch mark on the work bench where the toaster was placed when he turned it on. The angle changes to a shot from the stairs, and the scorch mark is gone. Later in the episode, the mark is back on the bench.

Other mistake: At the speed that Homer was chasing the family outside the lodge at the end of "The Shinning", he would have caught them up with ease.

Continuity mistake: When Skinner is cooking the kids, he and the cook are chasing Bart, Lisa, and Milhouse. From the back, he has an apron tied around his neck. In the next shot, he puts on an apron.

Continuity mistake: At the end of 'The Shining, ' the family sits in the snow, Homer holding Willie's portable TV. Later, when they're frozen, Homer is holding nothing, although the TV's snow-topped antenna is still there. Additionally, Homer's left shoulder is missing. This is all due to the lack of correct colorization.

Continuity mistake: In "Nightmare Cafeteria", Mrs Krabappel sends Wendell into detention and you can see there is a book on her desk. But from an overhead view, the book has gone and there is now paper in front of Mrs Krabappel.

Continuity mistake: In "Time and Punishment", when Homer returns after sitting on a fish, he enters the kitchen and you can see the table is completely clear. But when Bart and Lisa (as giants) attempt to kill their father, we cut to Homer and there are plates with food and glasses on the table.

Continuity mistake: In "The Shinning", the family are walking along the corridor at the house with Mr Burns and Smithers and you can see that Homer is walking near a window in one shot, but in the next shot he is now by the railing.
