Continuity mistake: In the beginning, Colonel Potter is painting a portrait of Hawkeye. In the preceding episode, The Korean Surgeon, the painting is finished and hanging on the wall in Colonel Potter's office. It is hanging just to the left of the door. The time given is from The Korean Surgeon where you can see the painting hanging on the wall. (00:17:05)
Other mistake: When Hawkeye finds the New York Times Crossword he says, "1 down, four letters..." and "1 across...four letters..." and BJ's answers are "chap" and "cast" but in the shot of the newspaper puzzle we see that both "1 down" and "1 across" are actually five letters each, not four.
Continuity mistake: As Hawkeye talks to the North Koren, the Korean has his hand across his lap. A second later, his arm is up, with his fingers on his temple.

Visible crew/equipment: As Potter is panning with the binoculars, you can see the lights, camera and crew reflected in the lens.

Continuity mistake: As The Nurses look at Baker, Walsh is keeping a lookout, then straightens up, partially turns and raises her right arm. A second later, she's back in position, and starts to straighten again.
Continuity mistake: After the movie breaks, Hawkeye is giving an over dramatic intro to Margaret. He has his left arm raised, and a second later, both hands are at chest level.
Continuity mistake: After Radar leaves the message with Stevens for Hawkeye's friend on the Essex, it cuts to Klinger removing a nut from the jeep and he's holding the wrench with his thumb at the top, but next shot he's holding the wrench the opposite way.
Continuity mistake: As the discussion about Burns draws to a close, Potter starts to grab the files on his desk. As he says "Dismissed", he grabs them again.
Continuity mistake: From the back, Potter is facing directly at Hawkeye and BJ. From the front, he's in quarter profile, left side forward.
Continuity mistake: As BJ mentions fingernails on a chalkboard, Potter hunches his shoulders up. A second later, after the angle changes, he repeats the action.
Continuity mistake: As Hawkeye talks to the wounded man on the chopper, the speed of the rotor blades changes several times in the scene. Looking at Hawkeye, the blades are moving fast; in the reflection, much slower.

Visible crew/equipment: As Potter pans around looking with binoculars, the lighting rig and a crew member can be seen reflected in the lenses.
Visible crew/equipment: As Potter turns away from looking at Burns rousting a man, he walks past the camera talking to himself. As he gets close to the camera, the shadow of the boom mic plays on his left sleeve.
Other mistake: When the four nurses at the door sing, two are singing, two accompanying. The nurse on the right of the shot seems to have forgotten the words.
Continuity mistake: As Klinger waves his hands to get attention for his part, it can be seen they're empty. A second later, he has a bulb in his right hand.
Visible crew/equipment: As Potter and Hawkeye look at the totalled and burning jeep, the shadow of the camera's shade can be seen at the lower left corner of the shot.
Character mistake: As Potter and Hawkeye pull up to the MP checkpoint, Potter and the MP exchange salutes. As per Army regulations, no salutes are given under battle conditions. The reason is that if the superior officer, in this case Colonel Potter, returns the salute, he can be a target for snipers.

Continuity mistake: As Frank talks with Sidney, hiss right wrist is beside his knee. A second later, his right fist is on his leg.
Answer: Even an Army field hospital would have SOME weapons for self-defense if the enemy attacked. What's meant is that it's not a combat outfit, and therefore wouldn't have enough weapons to actually attack anyone. (It's also mentioned a few times that the Officer of the Watch is supposed to carry a pistol at all times, but Hawkeye refuses to do it when he's in charge and Colonels Blake and Potter don't enforce the rule).
