The Sniper - S2-E10
Continuity mistake: At the picnic, the basket is sitting with the end towards the camera, and bottle of liquor in it. Before the first shot from The Sniper, the basket is sideways, and the bottle in front towards the camera on the ground.
The Sniper - S2-E10
Revealing mistake: When The Sniper begins his attack, a sandlot football game is in progress in the compound. As the quarterback goes back to throw a pass, he waits just long enough for the ball to be "shot" out of his hand.
Continuity mistake: In Henry's office, the white cloth Radar has on his ears changes positions from shot to shot.
Continuity mistake: When in the Swamp, and they show Hawkeye numerous times, the door to the stove is open, then closed, then open, etc.
Hot Lips and Empty Arms - S2-E14
Continuity mistake: In Henry's office, Margaret has pins in her hair over her ears. When she comes out to see Henry, the pins are gone.
Continuity mistake: As Frank and Henry sit at Henry's desk, and Henry is holding his doll, the cigar he has goes from his mouth to hand and back again.
Revealing mistake: There is a lag between the interior lights going out and the exterior stage lights going on.
Factual error: Radar claims in his report that Father Mulchahy tried to calm the prisoner by saying "bang zhao", thinking it means "peace and friendship" when it really means "your daughter's pregnancy brings much joy to our village." There is, unsurprisingly, not even a remotely similar word in Chinese that means either of those things.
Factual error: General Clayton is wearing ribbons on his regular fatigues. This is incorrect as the ribbons would only be displayed on the dress uniforms. Only the officer's rank would be on the fatigues.
Hot Lips and Empty Arms - S2-E14
Continuity mistake: When Margaret comes into Henry's office, interrupting the "training film" Hawkeye's part flips from being on the left to the right and back.
Continuity mistake: As Hawkeye goes to leave the Swamp, the club he's holding goes from the top of the grip an inch or so above his fist, to the top in his palm.
Visible crew/equipment: After Hawkeye and Trapper tell Frank that they made up Pioneer Aviation to help him look foolish, when Hawkeye picks up Trapper's duffel bag, as the shot pulls back the chalk T-mark can be seen on the floor where Hawkeye had been standing.
As You Were - S2-E20
Revealing mistake: At the end, in the shot of Klinger singing while he's sewing a dress on his White Rotary sewing machine, as he's guiding the fabric forward it isn't actually under the machine's presser foot, which it needs to be in order to be stitched by the needle.
As You Were - S2-E20
Continuity mistake: When Klinger's in Father Mulcahy's tent he pulls up a chair and when he sits down he places his purse on his lap, but in the closeup the purse strap is now around his left arm.
Continuity mistake: During Henry's home movies of Molly's birthday party, Lorraine brings out the cake with candles and sets it on the table, but the cake differs between the shots - note the writing.
For the Good of the Outfit - S2-E4
Continuity mistake: Hawkeye mails a letter to his father which is delayed in its delivery, and when Hawkeye finally receives a reply from his father it's dated May 24, 1951, but in the previous episode "Radar's Report" the weekly report that Radar typed up was dated October 17 through October 22, 1951.
The Sniper - S2-E10
Other mistake: When Hawkeye and Trapper make Frank up to look like MacArthur, as they put the pipe in the "sleeping" Frank's mouth, he opens a bit wider, and bites down on the stem, then says his last line of the episode.
Continuity mistake: As the camera looks at the door of the Officer's club while the General and Hawkeye talk, other tents can be seen behind them. As Hawkeye brings in the enlisted personnel, the area is totally empty.
Other mistake: The Chinese patient cut the strap of Klinger's red gown, but Radar says Klinger requests a replacement brassier. Later Klinger's red gown shows no damage, although he could have retied the strap.
Continuity mistake: The amount of alcohol in the bottle Hawkeye holds in the Swamp goes from full to half empty and back between cuts.

Answer: The C-42 was a military variant of the Douglas DC-2. Very few C-42's were built, so it's questionable that Potter would specifically have seen that particular model, but, given his military background, it's not entirely unreasonable that he might use the military designation even when the aircraft in question is actually a civilian DC-2.
