Designated Survivor

One Hundred Days - S1-E15

Continuity mistake: When Hannah Wells and Jason Atwood confront Brooke Mathison and she tries to fight back with her hidden pistol, Jason fires three shots at her, while Hannah fires two shots at her. However when they show Brooke Mathison again, only one shot is visible on her body. Because she was facing Jason, there should have been at least the three shots he fired at her visible. (00:39:53)

#whocares - S3-E6

Other mistake: There is a shot of the NIH building. The lintel says The National Institutes of Health, the correct name. Cut to a shot supposedly inside the building, where a wall hanging says National Institute of Health. So does a brochure given to an actor. (00:17:00)

Kirkman Agonistes - S2-E18

Character mistake: The chessboard on the desk part way into the episode is set up wrong. Any chess player knows the "white on right" mantra for the white square being in the right corner of the board. In the show the entire board is off and black is in the lower right corner. (00:11:20)

Brace for Impact - S1-E21

Continuity mistake: When the FBI agent is chasing down "Catalan", after crashing his car, suddenly in one shot the slide of her pistol is retracted, as if the gun is empty. Previous shots it is closed and ready to fire. Then right after showing it retracted and locked back, the very next clip she fires her gun, without doing anything about the slide.

The Final Frontier - S2-E12

Continuity mistake: When Tom Kirkman visited the man who killed his wife in prison in S2E10, he sat down for the conversation. In this episode, when the surveillance video of him leaks, it shows him having the conversation whilst standing.

Outbreak - S2-E3

Character mistake: The ‘Brit', Damien from Scotland Yard, and Emily are outside the archive facility - Damien pronounces ‘route' the American way (rowt, rather than root).

Sting of the Tail - S2-E2

Factual error: FBI Agent Hannah Wells pulls up to the house of the First Lady's mother driving a unmarked police vehicle with government license plates. The license plate is I410918, which is a Department of Interior plated vehicle. The FBI wouldn't be driving a Department of Interior vehicle as the FBI is in the Department of Justice. A Justice plate would have a J and a FBI agent vehicle would have a regular license plate. (00:14:00)

Brace for Impact - S1-E21

Factual error: At the very beginning of the episode, during Agent Wells' escape in the blue van, there is a very tall skyscraper in one shot. There aren't large skyscrapers like that in DC. Also, when she crashes the van into the Tidal Basin, where did all of the cherry trees that surround it disappear to?

Outbreak - S2-E3

Other mistake: The First Lady mentions that her father's heart transplant was done when she was 10 years old in 2002 which means she was born in 1992, and she was 25 years old in 2017, so when did she give birth to her son Leo who's 17 years old? When she was 8?

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: The First Lady never mentioned a date. Andrew Booker's (her father) heart transplant was done in 1987, according to the medical record found. Her father died in 2002, but that wasn't the year of the transplant.

Party Lines - S1-E16

Continuity mistake: Agent Wells is wearing a green jacket with a black bag. In the next shot, she is wearing an orange jacket with a red bag on her back. (00:36:50)

The Ninth Seat - S1-E17

Factual error: In the opening scene, Abe Leonard meets with a terrorist leader in what is supposed to be Iraq. However, during their conversation, their breath can be seen, even though Iraq has a hot, dry climate. Even at night, the temperature rarely drops low enough for your breath to condensate, let alone in an urban area during daytime.

Tom Kirkman: What do you want me to do, General, declare war? Why not. 40 minutes ago, they showed me the nuclear football. I guess I've had it long enough to try it out.

Season 1 generally

Question: If there were two designated survivors (Kirkman and Hookstraten) then why was it decided so quickly that Kirkman would be president instead of Hookstraten?

The_Iceman

Answer: The line of succession is VP, Speaker, President Pro Tempore, then the Cabinet Secretaries in the order the department was created. If none is qualified, then the Chief Justice or senior member if no Chief or Chief is ineligible or declines, acts as POTUS until either the House chooses a new Speaker or the Senate chooses a new Pro Tempore, whichever is first.

Answer: While both parties picked a designated survivor, only Kirkman was a cabinet member and in line for succession. Hookstraten was the Majority Whip leader for the House of Representatives and not in line for succession. She would only have become president if something happened to Kirkman.
