Radio Days - S6-E4

Question: When Joey and Jesse try the DJ spot, you can see a sign on Julie's desk that says NO CHECKS CASHED. Would people try to get checks cashed at a radio station?

Answer: Larger businesses used to cash personal cheques for their employees as a courtesy, since ATMs weren't nearly as common as they are now, and they may not be able to get to their bank.

Grease 2 (1982)

Question: During "Score Tonight," Stefanie seems to be flirting with Davy; anyone else ever wonder why they didn't become a couple?

Answer: Very simple. There are four T-Birds and four Pink Ladies. Given that the other three of each are paired up, that leaves those two to dance together.

LorgSkyegon

Answer: Just because he's a T-Bird doesn't mean he's a nerd. Every group has the leader, the joker, the loud mouth, and the geeky guy.

I'm not sure this answer applies; none of the T-Birds came across as geeky, jokers, etc. We only know Johnny is the leader, as he is referenced as such several times during the film.

Answer: Like Steve Urkel, "Family Matters," he was the nerd in love with the popular girl. It would be unrequited.

Actually, Davy was one of the T-Birds, the cool group of the school. You're thinking of Michael, the nerdy exchange student who liked Stefanie.

Question: I don't understand why the government thought Biederman was dead. They would have identified the body in the car crash as the astronomer. They would have found only one body. But yet they think Biederman was dead?

Answer: I don't think necessarily that the government confirmed he was dead, merely that some wires were crossed along the way between local police discovering Wolf's body, the person finding the envelope, and the press conference.

The Patriot (2000)

Question: Why was Susan so upset with Benjamin after he left, and why is it she suddenly breaks down, cries, and pleads for him not to go away before he leaves again?

Answer: Because he's her father and she misses him. Her mum is already dead and she recently lost one of her brothers. She's afraid of losing him too.

Grease 2 (1982)

Question: At what point did Davy and Delores become a couple? He shows no interest in her the entire film, but is dancing close with her during the last song.

Answer: The pictures of students jumping at the end are the graduating seniors. Deloris is not a senior.

LorgSkyegon

Answer: Are you sure about that? I remember Dolores bringing in some young kid her own age. She says it never would have worked out between her and Michael. Everyone laughed. At the end of the movie, when everyone jumped in the air, they were paired off, except for Davy, who jumped solo.

The ending where the characters were jumping was reserved for the major players in the film; Delores was more of a featured character and therefore would not have been included.

Dolores was talking about Davy when she said that; she was holding onto his arm.

Question: When the boys leave the landing strip, it is 7:00 am. The game presumably starts at 7:00 pm. Couldn't they have just taken aspirin and drunk plenty of water throughout the day to relieve their hangovers prior to the game?

Answer: Depending on quite how much you drink, it can take several days to fully recover from a hangover. In addition, they have not slept, which is dulling their reaction times, and at least Billy Bob is suffering from intestinal problems because of the hangover.

The Way We Was - S2-E12

Question: In this episode, there is a song playing on the record player that starts off with someone singing "Don't be a baby, lady - just be a lady, baby" and then suddenly the classic 70's song "The Hustle" plays. The Hustle never had this intro in the real song that I'm aware of. My question is - was there ACTUALLY a version of "The Hustle" that included that start with those words or was it just made up for this episode on the show?

Answer: It's not sudden. The first part is a made-up song for the show and is over a minute in the episode (and several hours in-universe) earlier than Homer playing The Hustle.

Borat (2006)

Question: I'm a bit confused about the scene where Luenell shows up at the dinner. Why were the guests so angry? Is it because she's black? They thought they were part of a serious documentary though, right? Why would they let the world know that they're racist? Is it because she was a prostitute? They didn't tell the guests she was, I guess maybe they could tell by the way she was dressed.

MikeH

Answer: Racism is certainly a possibility. For certain, the host and other guests had simply had enough of Borat by that point. Besides insulting them, bringing a bag of feces back to the table, and his other bad behaviour, he brought in someone who was a street prostitute to a fancy dinner party.

Disaster Movie (2008)

Question: Is the song "Evil Incarnate" a real song, or was it composed for the movie?

Answer: It was written for the movie.

LorgSkyegon

Answer: The Son is not truly a Sith because he doesn't subscribe to Sith beliefs, nor was he a part of the early Sith Empire or the new "Rule of Two" Sith Order. He is merely a personification of the Dark Side of the Force itself.

Question: How could the police car still work like normal after Arnie literally crushed its front?

Answer: Depending on what exactly was damaged when he landed on the hood, it may still be able to run for a while before the damage destroys the engine beyond use.

Serenity (2) - S1-E12

Question: Something I've always wondered: I haven't quite read all of the comics, so this may be addressed in them given they are considered canonical, but is Patience ever mentioned again? I kind of always assumed she was likely killed by the Reavers since they were still near the planet surface at the end of the episode, but obviously that was never confirmed.

TedStixon

Answer: She isn't mentioned in any of the comics. If she wasn't killed by the Reavers, there's a good chance she was killed by the Operative, as she was one of Mal's contacts.

Question: Why doesn't the guy in the truck just turn the turrets to face the sky or something when the Mariner is pulling the gun boat into the deacon's boat or hell even turn the engine off meaning the gun has no power! He was reaching through the cab trying to get the guys attention so it's not like absolutely no-one on the gun boat was unaware of what was going on.

Answer: The guy behind the wheel had no control over the gun's movement. It was done by the gunner, as seen in the beginning where he tested the controls. We don't know that he would have been able to shut off the power to the guns either.
