Trivia: A lot of the casting for the children in the film was done by Phil Colins's mum, this lead to him being given a cameo. If you look in the audience in the final performance, to the right of the handcuffed Shake, you can see the young Phil.

Trivia: Throughout the film people keep referring to Paul's granddad as a 'very clean man'. This is a reference to the programme 'Steptoe and Son' which Wilfred Bramble starred in. Through the entire run of the series he was constantly referred to by his son as 'You dirty old man'.

Trivia: The scene where Imhotep is resurrecting the Scorpion King, he is hitting a big gong. A bald guy, in a loin cloth, hitting a big gong...this is a nod to the opening title of any 'Rank' picture.

Trivia: In the scene where Evie wakes up to find a rat on her chest she screams and rolls over and the rat then lands on the female mummy. According to the commentary on the DVD the rat wasn't meant to land on the girl playing the mummy, who was only the make-up lady. As soon as it landed on her she jumped up screaming.

Trivia: Near the beginning of the film when Rick gets hanged, the wide shots used are of his stunt double, but in the close up shots it really is Brendan Fraser. Watch his eyes in the final close up before he gets cut down, they are nearly rolled right back in his head. This is because he really was asphyxiating and collapsed after that scene was shot. Rachel Weisz stated that 'he stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated'.

Trivia: When Saul (posing as Mr. Zerga) collects his briefcase/package one of the "bodyguards" says "ya vas lublu." This is also said in "The Great Escape" (1963) as the only piece of Russian that Danny (Charles Bronson) knows, he translates it as meaning "I love you."

Trivia: Just before the credits roll there is a brief flash of the ghost faced killer, this was a clue that there was going to be a sequel. The same thing occurs just before the credits of Scream 2 but it doesn't occur in Scream 3.
