Revealing mistake: When the Enterprise begins to leave the spacedock, the background inside spacedock (behind Enterprise) seems to move in two different directions, the top moves towards the right, the bottom towards the left.

Trivia: Just before Kirk tells Scotty to open the bay doors of the Enterprise, a beeping sound is heard inside the shuttlecraft. This same sound effect is heard inside the Russian spacecraft during the probe scene in 2010: The Year We Make Contact.

Revealing mistake: When Spock is on Vulcan, it is blatantly obvious the actors playing the Vulcan elders are speaking English with a bad dubbing.

jbrbbt

Trivia: If you look at the Kholinar necklace Spock was to be given when he was on Vulcan it bears a striking resemblance to the Enterprise, especially when it is laying on the ground before Spock picks it up.

The Core (2003)

Revealing mistake: When the ship breaks the wall outside the geode chamber we see the rock reform and harden as soon as the ship is through, so how could the magma leak into the geode if that rock had already hardened?

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: Because the ship had weakened that spot of the outer shell enough that the magma pressure eventually punched through.

Chosen answer: No. He's given his name, that's all. Nothing there that might lead to a paradox. If he's gone into detail about his time travelling, that might cause an issue or two, but simply stating his name does nothing.

Tailkinker

Answer: No more so than Sisko posing for a photo in the 21st century while pretending to be Gabriel Bell.

Answer: His last name is something Kirk will forget, since he was on temporary assignment and essentially passing through.

Revealing mistake: When Rambo destroys the POW camp with the helicopter, the same hut blows up 3 times, (you can tell by the v-shaped flames).

Trivia: Other than the "absent friends" toast to Data at the end of the film, Dr. Crusher is nowhere to be seen in the final 40 minutes of the film after Picard orders battlestations.

True Lies (1994)

Question: How could Harry have known what floor the terrorist leader was going to get off on during the hotel chase sequence?

jbrbbt

Chosen answer: He didn't really. Harry just knew he was heading up. He pressed the top floor to get the elevator moving and kept an eye on him on the way up. If the terrorist's elevator suddenly stops, Harry can press the button for that floor to stop his elevator.

XIII

Question: If the shields on the collector were down while Data was flying the Captain's Launch, why not use that ship to destroy the collector?

jbrbbt

Chosen answer: Probably because the best he'd be able to do is damage the collector, not destroy it.

The Core (2003)

Revealing mistake: The underground crystal chamber is completely encased in a cobalt shell, yet a light source has to come from somewhere to allow all the crystals to reflect in the dark. The light from the ship wouldn't have been enough to make them all reflect and the magma had not yet breached the ceiling.

jbrbbt

Upvote valid corrections to help move entries into the corrections section.

Suggested correction: The lights are bright enough. Standard headlights and flashlights easily light a couple hundred meters. The ship had numerous lights so this is easily feasible. Once the magma breached, then you could see even more.

Suggested correction: They have handheld flashlights that can easily hit between 1000 to 2000 meters. The lights from the ship would have been more than powerful enough to cause the crystals to reflect light.

Revealing mistake: When Agent XXX releases the mine under the Lotus, the shadow of the car can still be seen over the mine as it explodes, which should have left the car damaged at such close range.

Under Siege (1992)

Plot hole: An American battleship with an active supply of nuclear warheads on its missiles would in no way allow a helicopter full of strangers to land and deploy without those men being screened for any weapons by the security guards on the ship (even if Krill already knows).
